Just curious.

I hear guys go a long way with em... I hear others break em regularly...

Breaking can be....blade, or shaft. I realize blade breakage is more common, But I have to say, The many games I go to( AHL )I see more snap about a foot or so up from the blade

I snapped my first (Junior) synergy in half while taking a slapshot in practice. Then with my other one the blade got too soft so I stepped on the blade and broke it so I could put a tapered blade in it. I've never broken a shaft, but with blades, if they go soft or I just dont like them, ill stick them in a door and snap'm.

I put mine down as "slamming" as that seemed closest (getting them jammed in the boards or something - but later realized you likely meant those who axe handle their OPS against the ice or cross bar).

In hindsight, I think mine break more from heavy shooting.

I rarely actually break the shaft - blade breakage is far more common (for me). Especially now that I'm fatter and weaker.

Generally shooting. Most of the time they just crack along the face of the blade and end up with no stiffness at all.

I didnt pick a poll choice. Usually my blades just develop small cracks that grow and grow until I decide they're done. I havent broken a OPS shaft yet, or broken a blade cleanly. Just cracks or softening.

Well of the one OPS I've used (vapor XX) it broke when I was skating for the puck, and it got sandwhiched between the opposing goalie and a kid on thier team. I didn't vote, but I guess it kind of qualifies for "collision"

The only other shaft I've broken was a intermediate z-bubble grip, it snapped when it got hit with a shot in a wierd place.

It really depends what kind of player you are. I'm a wrist shot playmaker forward. My wrist shot is probally more dangerous than my slapshot, so I shouldn't be breaking them like toilet paper.

Generally shooting/wear & tear on the blade. I've only broken a few shafts, but the blade either softens or develops a crack relevant enough to negatively affect my shot.
