If its an option, get a OPS Xn10 and then wait for the blade to break. You can very easily make the XN10 into a shaft, thats what one of my current sticks is.

What if he busts the shaft?

Then he would have busted the shaft anyways. I guess he could still save a blade but my two XN10s have been around for 4 months now, no problems except one blade broke.

That's not the Redlite XN10 currently on the 2003 TPS website. Like everyone's been saying, the TPS website hasn't been updated yet.

I just got an R2 XN10 today, as you may have read in my other thread, I will be able to use it tomorrow, and I'll let you know what I think.

Here's a quick eval on the R2xn10:

(whip flex, mission wood ether blade)

Shooting: best kick that I've come across in wristshots -- better than my tapered Noviuses. Slapshots weren't quite as good (I blame the whippiness of my flex) but would probably be as good with a stiffer version. Didn't have a problem with torque.

Handling: feels lighter than my Flyweight, very impressive balance. Allowed rapier-quick poke checks, defensive sweeps. Loved how quick diadochokinetic movements were in puckhandling, although the puck feel was a tad lively for my taste...which is why God made hockey tape. Caveat: the stick felt brittle. Maybe because it's so light and lively, but I had to get used to it. This may or may not reflect in the shaft's durability, but I shouldn't comment on durability since I've never broken a shaft.

Overall -- my favorite. Well, for now.
