Hespeler Nemesis Shafts.

Recommended Posts

Who owns Hespeler now? I thought they went defunct. On the previous page it says the Forzani group bought up the old stash to be sold in their stores. Are they also still making Hespeler products?

Forzani

...as they never owned the patents. See, I pay attention.

Hopefully this will happen sooner rather than later. I was hoping the technology would show its head again. I remember JR saying to me that the designer/inventor still owned the original patent. Will the stick be a new brand or is the idea being sold to an existing company?

As long as they will also make the "Smyth" blade pattern again I will be very happy.

Had I known it was Richard who posted the info, I would have had more faith. Glad to hear that production is going to resume.

I've been using an Alpha Nemesis for 3 years now and I love it. I wouldn't mind seeing it rise from the ashes.

Damn, mine didn't hold up very well at all. How have you managed that?

I would like to know also. Mine never lasted more than about 2 or 3 months at best. I think I went through about 4 or 5 in a year and that was only playing 3 times a week. The shafts chipped easily too so I am sure that didn't help their structural integrity. Compare this to my Nike Apollos which usually last me 10 to 18 months each (at $50 a pop they were a steal).

I didn't take that many slappers back then. One was from getting slashed and the other bore the brunt of being hooked down on a breakaway and crashing into the end boards. If I could skate fast enough to not get caught, I would have been fine.

Don't know. I play 2 - 3 times a week in a beer league. I don't take slap shots, just wrist and snappers. The shaft has lots of chips and marks on it. The blade has one tiny chip in it.

Sorry to bring up an old topic but is there any new information on the Alpha Nemesis making a return? Richard had mentioned "very soon" but I haven't heard a peep (not the marshmallow kind) since then.
