breaking sticks...

i'm just wondering why i never break sticks? i've been playing for about 10 months and i've never even broken a wood stick. i'm about 5'11" 185 lbs...

obviously i'm happy about this as i'm not made of money :]

but, i'm just wondering if that means something, like i have bad shooting technique or if i'm just weak or what. hopefully i'm just lucky

Depends on what type of woody your using, what league your playing in, if your a grinder or not, you shot preferance, many things. It could just be your luck. I wish I could have your luck :P

There's so many factors. I generally broke ALOT more sticks when I was playing regularly and at higher levels, but I haven't broken many in the last 6 months because I am just shooting.

I break an assload of sticks cuz i slash and take a ton of slappers. lol i found playing defence or center is the worst on sticks.

I think alot of people would like to be in your position, including me..I use graphite sticks and I go through 1 per 6 or 7 months...Thats not too bad compared to some which go thorough like 2 or 3 per month.

oh i kno the faceoffs are hell i play it in roller and my responce is all maked up and it has hair line cracks in it and i rarely take slappers in roller.

Yah same with me. Except I take a ton of slappers. So those hairline cracks that I get on the bottom 12 inchs of my stick from face-offs usally result in my stick snapping a foot or so up from the blade. Sucks.

Heres a weird one. When I used to use woodys for roller, I almost never broke a blade, but I snapped the sticks in half like crazy. This happen to anyone else. Or am I just really stong :D (I wish)

funny - thats about the only place i broke a woody too. i found that the flex would be all gone and i would usually buy another one before it broke - its nice to actually wear a stick out. when they did break, it was almost always in half. pros were the same way back in the day.

The only other stick I've totally broken was a Koho woodie back when I was in squirts, it must have been beaten up, because I gave this kid a weak slash and my stick broke. It was at a summer camp, and I got chirped for it .

for me i have a 04 synergy grip and a sicore and the synergy grip has hold up for about a year now and the sicore about 6months i like never break full piece sticks and if i do its at the blade but sometimes i use wood a z-carbon 95 and they usally last me 3 to 4weeks and they always snap in the middle

I have my synergy for almost a yr,just many starches and add a lot to the flex. I get a lot of slashes and stuff and i take a lot of slappers too. Ima defenceman.

ive had pretty good luck with easton products. last year i had a synergy that lasted about 3/4 of the year then the blade broke in half. this year ive used a synthesis for the entire season without it breaking and i just reacently bought a SL grip thats still going strong. i play defence but dont take that many huge slappers. i prefer snap shots cause theyre quicker.

im currently on my 6th Vapor XX in 5 months....which is wierd cuz im 5' 10' and 140lbs.....im a light kid but i break OPS like hell. i rememeber my 5th vapor took me 6 days to break and ive broken a yellow synergy in 2 weeks. but, since im only 16 my dad still buys the crap for me and i love my vapors..

I am really streaky with breaking sticks. I will go 2 months without breaking one then break like 3 sticks in a week. It is pretty weird. For me breaking sticks on one timers is a big problem, other than that hacking and stick work break most of my sticks.
