First career start resulted in a first career win! The score ended up being 3-2. I had a few good saves; the first goal was a breakdown of my defense. I made the initial save with the shaft of my stick but the puck ended up behind the net with my defense in front of me. The other team retrieved it and came around front for the shot point blank while my defense just watched. Second goal was just a great shot that went bar down. Being in goal was a whole lot more stressful then I thought it was going to be but I had a blast! I really noticed that I was having trouble sliding from post to post while I was down in the butterfly so that'll be my first thing to work on.

Well, the gear is really cool. I'm a little disappointed that slow-pitch doesn't require it! Also, you get to watch the game as much as participate in it. (both softball/baseball and hockey.)

Thank you! This was the first time. I've taken a few shots out on the pond in the dark but that's about the extent of it. I've been a catcher in travel softball since I was about 10 so I'm thinking that was a huge help to how I played last night.

I agree, but even with just the white facing around the eyelets area to ankle to tendon guards, that would already make for a cool but not overly gaudy look. If you could also whiten out the black overlay on the heal and yellow and silver instep areas it would be even better, and harken back to the old CCM tacks heel lock! If there is an option to get any of this custom ordered down the road, I think I may have to get in on these skates (assuming good fit for my foot of course). Being a diehard Mako fan, I wonder how these will compare to the fit/comfort of the Makos and how the pitch will be. I love the aggressive stance my Makos put me in and found it improved my skating even more.

I tried to resist, honestly. But i convinced myself by stating that i could really use a second pair of mitts for our tournaments this summer with multiple games per day so i gave in - although my buddy at the LHS tried to bait me with a pair of CCM 4052 in black and orange which also looked gorgeous but i simply love the tight fit of these Supreme. And they fit my favorite team's colours ...

I've got my first ever game in net tonight. I'm a bit nervous but I'm sure once the game starts I'll cool down a bit. Any quick tips?

Heard back from 2 schools about post grad studies in September. After fumbling around at university the last few years it's nice to finally kind of have some direction in what to do next

Nope. Like knee pads, it has not been at the top of my priority list for equipment. I am usually fairly well protected with a dangler and my c/a. Bruises come standard with the goalie package, but if you work extra especially hard, you can earn a free trip to the hospital.
