He said the shims resulted in a significant improvement in his skating. Previously due to the supination he could never get a full toe flick at the end of every stride due to the way his ankles would supinate at full extension which prevented him from "grabbing" the full inside edge of the steel.

@Monty22 I’m gonna be buzzing around with Brass Bonanza on repeat with this set up on!

That feels like a bad trade. I almost feel like the pick should have been going the other way. Both of them are RFA's too.

Changed the topic to cover the draft, free agency, and trades during this off-season.

Ok that's a loaded question are you just trying to rile everyone up now? 🙂 Let's start with the fact that lie number means almost nothing these days and the rocker (or lack thereof) makes lie comparisons between patterns highly subjective. That said, the P90T/P90TM and P88 are the same or just about the same lie based on the comparisons I've done with two sticks in my hand. Certainly they are more similar in lie than the Bauer P88 vs. P92, which Bauer lists both as a 6, but are very different lies. The P88 is lower than the P92. Same with the P90T. In the old days of wooden sticks we could torch them on the stove and bend our own curve in them... picture having a wooden P88 that you torched just from the toe back to the mid-blade, then you bent the toe in for more curve and back for more loft to create an open kink at the end. That's the P90T/P90TM.

I've now skated in my MyBauer Ultrasonics for 10-hours. No complaints and the break in was much easier than that for the 2S Pro (mostly because of the tongue). I feel that it only took a few skates to dial them in. Hard to compare them directly to the retail Ultrasonic since I opted for the Classic Felt tongue instead of the retail Reflex Pro tongue. Overall very happy with the fit and performance so far.

Hardly post-Lefevre. The 20.1 is a virtually identical pad, indicating that they at least began the design journey together. Given that CCM is known to work 2-3 years ahead it's really no surprise that they both took the same design and put their own tweak on it. Personally I think the relationship with the Lefebvres ending works out fairly well for both parties. CCM is no longer stuck fighting with their gear designer when they want to innovate. They've been stuck just putting out warmed over gear year after year, despite having some really good R&D going on. The Lefebvre family gets to cash in on the work they did for CCM and continue to have a big name/money partner as opposed to trying to find the resources to navigate the world of goalie gear as an oddly sized entity (bigger than Passau/Kenesky but not as big as Bauer, CCM, etc...). The real winner is True, who was able to move in and obtain a ready made production line AND client base. It will be fascinating over the next 3-5 years to watch True and CCM products diverge. One slight difference I've already seen between 20.1 and Axis is that the Lefevre 590 glove I had the chance to try on felt EXACTLY like the CCM 590 I had last year. The Axis 590 is a better feeling glove with a slightly better closure and it feels like CCM has tweaked where it sits on your hand just a bit. To me it's and improvement, but hardcore 590 guys may feel differently (I moved over to 600 for my Axis set). 12.2 and EF5 pads are obviously showing differentiation between the lines and I'm guessing that by the time we get to 12.3/EF6 there will be no more commonality between them than you'd find between those pads and the Vaughn V11 or Brians Genetik VI (or whatever they're called by the time we get 3 years down the road).

I agree with boo10, P90TM is the same as P92 up until about the last inch or two of the toe. It opens more at the toe, but that may also just be an illusion because of the beak curve. I have more control of my shots and keep them lower with P90TM than I did with P92. But I also have more control and can elevate them faster and higher than with P88. This curve is really the best of all three worlds, for me at least.

Hoping for a quick recovery. At least you don't have pain.
