I love those pics of Marchand with giant holes in his gloves, then reading online about adult league players who need a new pair of gloves every time they get a half centimeter hole somewhere in the glove.

Yes I’ve studied all the available documents on here and gathered as much info on the new Catalyst. The softer boot and flexible tendon guard is what interest me the most. In comparison I prefer the tech mesh vapors vs the full composite offerings from Bauer. I still wear my x7.0/X90s. it is the eyelets that are cutting into my feet when putting them on and I’ve resorted to using duct tape. Wearing even thin skate socks don’t feel right. In reality I am not skating much outside of coaching and running hockey camps so I don’t really need a high end skate I just want something to eventually replace the makos that I can wear for multiple hours a day. I’ve had three pairs of Trues (customs, TF7/9) and they just might not be the skate for me.

I agree. No one cares. Should get you an application to where I work. But regarding these gloves I think I’m going to have to return. I’m weary of buying a 13 because they might be too small. And for SLS, I don’t think a return policy exists.

I'd say less consistency between brands and even between models in the same brand are to blame. Different models have different "fit profiles" but, on the whole, I blame it on overall Quality Control just going downhill like most things now a days (insert old man Simpson yelling at cloud image here). Manufacturers just don't care about quality like they used to in so many industries, including hockey gear.

Funny, as I recently replaced my old gloves and thought the exact opposite. Fingers seemed shorter and fit was tighter. Certainly shorter cuff.
