I was a Vapor D width guy. I have high arches and high instep but regular width feet (between C and D). I recently tried the Cat 9s and found they killed my feet because they're not designed for people with high arches/instep. So I went and got scanned - fit 2 in Bauer, regular in CCM, but down from 9 to 8.5. I tried on almost every skate and I wound up in some regular width AS-V Tacks (tapered were just a tad tight in the forefoot). They are extremely comfortable and snug for me, excellent heel lock. CCM redesigned the AS-V Tacks line to be less voluminous, with the flexible tendon guard from the 100Ks, and this new GameDay fit tech on the ASV Pro and ASV skates that is supposed to provide a better wrap of the foot out of the box. I was afraid of how stiff they were going to be and potentially less forward flex, but that was not an issue at all when I skated on them. I'm really happy with them so far, I'd definitely recommend folks consider them when trying on new skates (the AS-Vs are roughly as stiff as the FT4 Pros). Might be the solution for you, too.

The STX shaft was like a lacrosse shaft on the bottom of the shaft for the whole length... in theory it sounded neat but just felt wrong haha. Didn't catch on at all and the few pros that used that model of stick had traditional shafts not the funky ones. Thinking of shaft shapes, Titan had a stick in the 90's (one of the ASD models, black with red writing) that was convex on the palm side and concave on the finger tips side, it was much more conservative and actually felt really great to play with, those were some awesome sticks.

You're both referring to Oggie grips. The page hasn't had any new posts since 2014, but there are still pictures: https://www.facebook.com/oggiegrips/

I may be misremembering the name, but I believe it was RocketHockey sticks, they were a shaft with a hole in the tenon, and blades with snap button built into the hosel for easy removal/changing. Think the Harpoon system but worse. and the kicker was, they didn’t initially make blades, so you had to buy one, send it to them to add the connector, and then have it shipped back.

These are riveted on, remember the ones that had something marketed like “quick change chasis” and you could take the whole chasis off and flip it to the other skate, for a lazy wheel rotation? (unless I’m confusing two CCM in-line bizzaro chassis)
