There's a rink here in MA that has a pro shop that sells them. They don't put them out, you have to ask. They are 30.00. I just bought another a few weeks ago. Shoot me a message and I can go grab one at some point this week. Helmet lineage over the past few years.

My pronation isn't that bad as I've done exercises etc to correct it as best as I can for the most part and I always use the speed plates so it's hard to say. There is no skate out there that will account for pronation so if that's what you're looking for in a skate, don't bother. Stiffness will help to a certain degree but it's not a fix. And all the mid to top tier skates out there now are pretty stiff.

Going to build Russian Wedge setup with the ability to adjust the width for my son. I can build it with stuff I have around, so the investment is minimal. He is 11 and just really starting to get into things on his own in the driveway. This way if he wants to do it it is there, otherwise I am not out a lot.

For the cheaper option, I have used heavy duty 1/2" mesh outdoor garden netting and doubled / tripled it over. It stopped pucks fine. Back in the day when I was playing a lot of golf I used to drive 1000 balls a day into it.

I had two power skaters for the high school team in Alaska I coached between 2002-2013. We never used them. The team got more out of hockey specific strength training, sprints and playing other sports outside of hockey. stride boards are good, they have been around for a long time and I still have the boards from the same high school team. While not specifically for stride work. stability ball balance work is great also. Developing the stabilizer muscles while kneeling or standing on a balance ball and stick handling is a great indoor exercise and a component of my training program. For off ice skate training I recommend the Marsblade O1 to all my players (high school varsity/18AAA/AA). I’m in California now and there is plenty of pavement to skate on. Having used the power skater the Marsblade O1 is a far better investment.

Cat pros use the exact same shell as the cat 9s. Only the padding is adjusted, so I don't think you'll find much better heel lock in those. For me though I found the cat pros provide me better heel lock then my tf pro customs since the heel pocket seems a bit more shallow than the tf pro customs. The pronation also is a reason for poor heel lock as your entire for shifts due to it and causes your heel not to sit in the pocket properly. If you have pronation issues, even custom skates won't fix this. I pronate with my right foot and notice the heel lock is slightly worse than my left. But with speed plates it has helped me a lot since the arch on these insoles are firm and don't collapse at all. Aso for me the cat pros flexibility was more noticeable laterally. Forward flexion I don't really notice a diff. Both the cat pros and tf pro customs I have to drop the top eyelet bc there's so much wrap bc my ankles are so skinny that it'll feel like skating on ski boots if I lace em to the top.

I think either one would resolve the heel lock issue.
