Got invited to go out to an tryout/practice for A. Not too high level, but it'll be cool to try anyways even though there's only 2 spots open. But having to play forward instead of defense will be kinda weird.

My mom's birthday, had a nice dinner and such. Dunno how I'm gonna go to practice tommorow having just eaten hickory ribs and chicken...
-
Not really a big thing, but picked up a pair of Graf footbeds today. Wow, do they feel good.
-
Is it maybe just the camera, but I think the color looks like red with some bluish...is it just me?

You know, just being able to turn on the TV at any time and having a good chance of seeing hockey highlights on TSN and Sportsnet makes me happy. Then of course, being able to listen to the games on radio when doing work or stuff. And oh, they Canucks are playing!! Life is sweet.

You tried to make it better, you can't blame yourself. Me? I woulda screwed up his skates so bad, he couldn't stand up and blamed it on the machine. That would easily get me fired, but I would've gone on my gut which is that.

Bauer Vapor X:60 Flex: 87 Curve: P92 grip Height: 5'8 Weight: 184 Postition:Defense Time-frame of use:October to April Aesthetics: I was really happy with the new design of the vapor stick. I really didn't like the design of the Vapor XXXX stick(And lower end models on line). For me, it was way too much, didn't need to be complex. Love this stick design, clean and simple. 10/10 Weight and Balance: This is probably the lightest stick I've ever used. It's listed at 430 grams, but in my opinion is a lot lighter. Mainly because the stick has phenomenal balance. It feels very good, not shaft or blade heavy. It was a little difficult for me to get used to the weight, but that shouldn't be a problem for others(I used to like heavy sticks). 10/10 Blade: The blade was very crisp and very lively. For me, it was a little different. Not really in a good or bad way. I had come of a One 95 and loved the wood feel, so it took a bit of time getting used to. Nevertheless, it got much better shortly, handling felt very nice, I found myself doing a bit better with my handling(stone hands here). The blade was durable, and had no chips, mainly skate scratches(a lot) yet still held up. 8.5/10 Shaft/Flex: I really liked the rounded shaft shape of the X:60. Typically, I'm used to the sort of squarish feel, but this felt quite comfortable in my hands. It seems to fit right in. Using 87 flex, as usual, a bit different from my One 95. Couldn't really load up as I usually did.(More on shooting). But it felt great and all, so no complaints. 9/10 Stickhandling and Passing: My stickhandling improved quite a bit, albeit that I'm a defencemen, and dangling isn't exactly my forte. When I think stickhandling and passing, I want a stick that lets me feel my passes, feel the puck. The stick did just that. The blade is quite lively and even pingy, but it didn't hinder anything. I really liked the crisp feel as opposed to the One 95. 8.5/10 Shooting: I was quite happy with the shooting of this blade. The dual kickpoints really let me get the best of both worlds. I felt it the first night I used it, doing shooting drills. It had the quick release of a low kick stick, yet I could still take good slapshots. However, I really missed how I couldn't load up into the stick like with the One 95. I loved being able to put all my weight into it. However, I quickly forgot and all was forgiven. 10/10 Durability: Well, it broke to a tomahawk slash..but until then, it held up strong. No grip peeling, no scratches. The bottom of my stick wasn't as beat up as I thought it would be as I progressed through the season. The blade was in primo condition, I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. 9/10 Conclusion: A fantastic stick, Bauer outdid itself. However, after it broke it was at the time of the recall so I went back to using One 95's. I'd gladly use the X:60 any day though, as I commonly trade off sticks with my friends for shifts at practice and shinny(He's got a 60). Wouldn't hesitate to buy the stick again either. 9/10

This want to buy new gear, especially since I don't need it is getting way to heavy. I noticed it getting worse in the summer..now I think it was either the point where I was checking the sales on IHW and Craigslist at lunch at school...I really need to cut off or go cold turkey.
-
You okay man??
-
What condition?? That's pretty sick. Even if it's kinda used, PPF's for 25 are crazy. On another note, semi-sweet managing to sell some extra gear of mine for my Base sticks. My science teacher's buying a pair of Mission L3 Pants for 50!!

Oh my god. I want one of these jerseys soooo bad. Or better yet a Ducks one. Haha love those movies.

My best friend left town yesterday, to go to the Calgary Hitmen rookie camp. Extremely excited for him, super proud of him and hope for the best. And that he remembers our deal to bring me a S19 or Total One.

Coached my first two games today, really happy. First game the team came back from a 4-1 deficit, second game we won 6-3. Totally looking forward to tomorrow and the new season.
-
Partly, but mainly because it has a lefty blade on it. If it was righty, I wouldn't hesitate to try it. Don't really want to buy a blade for it(even if it's cheap), just to not like it and turn away.
-
I'll be pretty stoked if the cyclone's are anything close to high end. I've got one lying around in my room, maybe I'll throw a blade on it.
-
I kinda think if it's only one, I'd go play. It's a spot at a pro team, how often can you honestly say chances like these come by. But that's just me. Do what you think is right, what makes you happy.

Practicing shooting at the park today(in the lax box). A dog runs in and I`m expecting him to take my tennis balls, you know typical dog thing. He takes 2 of my pucks and runs off. Didn`t see the pucks again. I`m not overly mad, but it just made my shake my head and say wow..

Thanks for the help everyone. Now for my vent. Just came back from a short trip, I feel like crap, I think I probably gained weight and I`ve got a camp in a week. I`m gonna have to go full on dryland exercising stuff if I can hope to be half of what I was at the end of the season.

Really sorry to hear about that JR. Hopefully something good does come out of your situation. You have my condolences. I've just got a random college question. Is there any way of trying out for a college team like an open tryout. Cause the thing is for me, that hockey and school just completely conflict, and my parents don't want me trying out for rep. I'm thinking the only way I could get a shot at this thing, is to do a tryout, or maybe speak personally to the coach...but I dunno.
-
Forgot about that, but I was just thinking aloud. Hopefully something good happens to the guy.
-
Well good on you. Maybe you have warranty..or something good will come out of it.
-
Ouch..I hope you didn`t retaliate. I would`ve gone berserk if some guy did that to my sticks...then again, some guy did. 2 hand slash at a evaluation. He`s lucky he`s 6`1 and I`m only 5`8

Finally managed to complete my full equipment upgrade. Started with Helmet and pants in January, just finished buying the last piece of gear(shin guards) today. Plus it was a good bit cheaper than I expected. Always a plus. Can`t wait till my camp on Monday.
-
That stinks. How long have you had them. I think I`m almost done growing, so I`m finally getting the go ahead from my parents to buy some higher end protective. They just pray I`m done growing. :P
-
They had over 20 kids and then you had to beat a bunch of other kids in trials. Plus loving the tuuk add on. I got 10k`s too. As soon as I make more money, I`m gonna try to put on felt tongues and LS2`s.
