  1. Warrior Projekt Gloves, 2011 Model Size : 15" Time Used: 9 months, once a week in A level inline hockeyR Fit: The 15" Projekt glove fit very similarly to the predessessor Eraser Pros that I had, although I did prefer to cut the inner liner to give my hands a little more freedom. I did the same with my previous gloves and did not notice any difference in protection, just more room. The Bone system is great, and I feel that the gloves move very easily in my hands. 9/10 Weight & Mobility: One of the lightest gloves I've ever used, although very slightly heavier than the Eraser Pros. The segmented cuff allows for great flexibility and movement, and I didnt have any restriction during stickhandling or shooting. The thumb allows for good movement of the thumb in the normal position, and prevents hyperextension. 9.5/10 Protection: These gloves have the bone system, and is very good with taking hits. I took a slapshot to the gloves near the thumb joint, and thought I would have broken my hand. Other than being stunned by the actual shot, I didnt feel pain at all. I also took a number of slashes during a recent game and the gloves protected my hands very well. I did wish there was a little more protection in the wrist area. 9/10 Durability: After about 4 months of usage, I saw some piling on the inside of the fingers and the palms. THere were no holes or fraying of the thread stitching. After about 8 months of usage I finally started seeing a little more wearing down of the palm, and you could start to see small holes appearing in the top hand. 9.5/10 Ventilation One of the selling points of this glove was the ventilation. I perspire a lot, and even after the game my hands were dry (although the palms were a little 'soggy'). The mesh gussets on the gloves allow good airflow, and if you actually stuck your gloved hands in front of a fan you could feel the air going through the gloves. 10/10 Aesthetics : The Projekt glove looks like the typical glove you would expect from Warrior, with the bold graphics. It was a head turner for sure and I really liked how the glove looked overall. 9/10 Overall: The Projekt is a fabulous glove and I highly recommend it to those it fits. As mentioned I cut out the inner liner for more comfort, but that was a personal preference. I would purchase another of these gloves in a heartbeat. 9.5/10
  2. Do it yourself! I've been mounting skates in my garage for over 4 years using teenuts and bolts. Let me know if you need any help.
  3. Wont happen. Apparently I'm supposed to be 'promoted' to another role that would cut my pay by 20%I must admit that I'm really intrigued by this skate. Just went to the LHS, and their highest end skate was the lowest end Bauer supreme. "Mako, you mean the shark? Never heard of the skate?"
  4. After years 18 years of playing inline, I've finally stepped onto the ice today to play hockey. I've been doing lunchtime rec skates just to get the hang of it, and the rink held a 'come and play' session this weekend. Felt a little different, and found that my shell doesn't quite fit well... Other than that, it was an awesome time. Got comfortable after about 30 min on the ice, and even started skating backwards without realising it. I was just enjoying the moment!
  5. Would be nice if the LHS in Australia had these... I would like to see how they fit for my deeper volume needs. The LHS doesnt even have the Nexus line, so it will be a long while before I even get to try.
  6. Background: 6' tall, 200lbs without gear on, playing only inline (looking to ice in next few months). Been playing competitive inline hockey since '96, and represented at state level. Currently only play once a week. Product: 2010 Warrior Projekt Elbow Pads (white) – Senior Large Previous Pads: Mission Sub Zero, Easton S7, Easton Zairs, Mission NME Nine-1 Current Pads: Still using the 2012 Warrior Projekt Elbow Pads Timeframe: Late 2010 – current Fit These are by far the most comfortable pads that I've worn. I've always been a size Large in elbow pads, although some other brands are not as secure and the pads slide down my arms. The neoprene strap keeps the pads in place very very well, and recently I've started wearing a long sleeve RBK drifit top, and the neoprene keeps it in place throughout the game. The white colour does have a slight yellow discoloration after 1 year of use. 9.5/10 Mobility No restrictions, the larger flared bicep pad allows great movement and mobility 10/10 Protection Have not taken any heavy falls, but have been hit into the boards by a few overzealous defencemen. So far its been holding up very well, no issues with protection. I give it a slightly lower score due to the shorter forearm pad, as I prefer the glove and elbow pad to overlap more (personal preference) 9/10 Weight Very lightweight, never been restricted by the elbow pads at all 10/10 Durability No issues with durability, everything has been staying in place. I was wary of the neoprene connecting the bicep pad to the elbow cup, but its held up very well. 9/10 Intangibles The white color gets yellowish over time, even with washing. Its not detrimental to the function of the pad, just that you get the yellowing like all other white gear. No smell, wash in mild antibacterial solution once every few months, and aired after every game. 8/10 Conclusion Best elbow pads I've used, very comfortable out of the bag. Very lightweight and mobile, and i can still see myself using them for another 6-12 months before deciding whether to buy the updated9.25 version. 9.25/10
  7. Am virtually the lone asian in the league, unless you consider those that were born here in Oz after their parents/grandparents migrated here long time ago.
  8. how do those AC2 gloves feel? Do you notice any difference in terms of the ventilation?
  9. I hear you on that...am the only asian that plays in my league, and I think there's only one other playing in the next tier up. Most dont bother about the 'asian' thing, but I've played against a couple teams that are just plain racist (name calling during the post game handshake). Uncalled for, but thats what happens when you play against 'bogans'
  10. Played a game against a younger and bigger team last night... they scored their first goal after 8 secs. Game was definitely theirs, just depended on how many they wanted to score against us. After first period we were 8-1 down Halfway thru the first period, goalie stopped the puck, but never covered it. I went in to poke the puck, got pushed from behind by D Man #1, which caused me to collide with D Man #2 and the goalie, and all three came after me. Three against one, I just pushed back and told them to f-off. Ref gave #1 and #2 penalties, and told me he was giving me a penalty as well. I asked him what the penalty was for, he said 'slashing'. I replied it was bullshit, and he tried to explain. Cut him short and told him 'I dont need an explanation, you call it like you see it' Next period, same thing happened, this time puck was about 6" away from goalie. I went in again and got hit by #1 and #2 again. Ref gives #1 a penalty, nothing for me. One of my team mates then goes face to face with their best player, just squaring off, no gloves dropped. Ref tells both to head to the box, and the other team best player keeps yapping in the box. Ref ejects him from the game, he gets two game suspension. My team mate told him that if he couldnt hack it, to start playing volleyball. This guy ends up waiting for my team mate in the carpark ALONG WITH HIS PARENTS, and all three of them threatening my team mate that they would damage his car. The period continues with them still winning, yet getting extremely frustrated and drawing stupid penalties. End of game, hand shake line... I go to the goalie and extend my hand to shake his, and he tries to kick my feet out from under me... through the whole handshake thing I hear all the chirps and name calling. Talk about sportsmanship... Funny thing was, the game ended with us losing 8-5, and yet feeling like we won the game.
  11. Big loss in first game of the season... Refs didn't bring their eyes last night. Got blatantly tripped numerous times, yet no calls given. Hustled my ass off last night getting to loose pucks, only for goalie to trip me with his stick... Ref was too far away to see, because he obviously wanted to save his energy for the other games.... What a crock...
  12. First game of the season, 2 subs on bench against a stacked team with three lines of good players. Lost the game big time... But managed to get some confidence back against goalies. Been too scared to deke the goalies in the past, resulting in many missed chances. Got the consolation goal when I. Managed to deke him out of his pants and just slide the puck into the empty net.... Now if only the refs start bringing their eyes to the game and calling all the blatant trips that we're made.
  13. Or p Or might be good it you wore knee braces...
  14. I think you mean forward pitch... I meant mounting the chassis more forward/backward to give you a more customised feel. Someone on this thread has done it both ways, mounting forward I think gave more speed, mounting the chassis more to the heel made you more on your toes but also more maneurability (*spelling).
  15. Don't forget to visually check the alignment. The wheels should be sticking out as much in front as the back, unless you are planning on mounting them biased front/rear
  16. go to mcmaster and you should be able to find tnuts and bolts. You can go with 6/32 or 8/32. Ive done mounts with both and while both are able to withstand the rigors of hockey, I just prefer to use the 8/32. However the 6/32 tends to be more 'forgiving' if you did misalign the holes. You will need a 6mm drill bit for the tee nut barrel. http://www.mcmaster.com/#tee-nuts/=h5x9ck You can choose the bolt/screw as well: http://www.mcmaster.com/#machine-screw-fasteners/=h5x9rt Pan philips head, or this slotted hex work. The slotted hex eliminates the need for a washer http://www.mcmaster.com/#machine-screw-fasteners/=h5xaf8
  17. Look like a tnut/bolt? Thats basically what a lot of guys are doing here, including myself.
  18. Dont worry, not everyone has english as a first language. And some that do have english as a first language, still cant speak proper english. What words do you need help with? Possibly some of us could help by not using too many technical terms...
  19. Hi Hoguie, that looks like a great mount! I like how you lay everything out, even the axles are all spaced out and facing the same direction!
  20. Great job H... glad it worked out for you in the end! Hate it when people in the organization just drains the life out of everyone there
  21. Played one of the shittiest games tonight in a 10-2 loss. We had only 5 skaters, two of which tend to dump the puck all the time. I tried to hussle a couple times for the puck, but then it just gets tiring to chase the dumped puck, and when you look up to center the puck there is no one there... which means you pass back to the point or defence again...
  22. Yup, agree, thats why she suggested xrays to ensure bone wasnt damaged, and then said that muscles/tissue needed to be checked thoroughly
  23. Doc's on facebook, so no need to post pics.
