  1. since i'm a woodstick freak your going to get a yes from me. I believe its identical to the Quest 1 wood with more reinforcement on the blade.
  2. how do you like the flexlite 12 woodie, it looks like the same stick as the bauer 6000 which i use now loved it while it lasted

    Tackla 951 Advantage

Tackla 951 Advantage Since I started hockey around last December I got one of those starter packages, one, thinking it was a good idea at the time, two, because it was cheap. Unfortunately the package came with Bauer 300 pants which completely reeked. Every fall, every impact I would feel it and it would give me some kind of bruise or pain the next day. I had enough of that and so I said to myself, 'time for new pants.' Fit - Being a Nike/Bauer fanboy I was gonna go for Quest 2's because of the positive feedback i've been reading about it by searching thru MSH. When I got to work I tried on Tackla 951s and they just felt better. Quest 2's were too loose for me. When I tried these pants on, I knew these were the ones. 10/10 Protection- 300's had crap for protection. One fall on your butt and you always knew you were gonna have a tailbone bruise. 951's? No more pain rushes after falling on your butt. I've taken pucks to the thighs and got slashes on the hips, didn't hurt at all. I would say these are protective, but they certainly aren't tanks. 8.5/10 Weight - I'm not worried about weight. Not light, not heavy. 10/10 Durability- So far the main pants been fine. The inside on the back by the zipper started to get unstitched but that was a good thing because I was able to sew on an NHL Patch I got from eBay. Nothing major so I don't have much complaints. 9/10 Intangibles: I love how these pants have double belt fit system, zippers and how the liner is really comfortable. Zippers were probably something I wasn't crazy about till I realised how much faster it is to get into gear. As for double belt system, I'm pretty sure it was designed so that you don't need suspenders but I use them anyway because I like keeping my pants loose during the game. 9/10 Conclusion - To me it's going to be a pant that i'm going to enjoy a LOT while it lasts. When NBH's Vapor lineup comes out, I'll take a look at those or maybe even try something different like Salming if I can ever get my hands on those. If all else fails, Tackla is there. Ask anyone on this board and I'm sure you'll rarely hear anything bad about Tackla. Overall Rating - 9.3/10
  5. Helmet - Navy Nike 0004 Shoulder - Easton Black Maxx Elbows - Nike Quest V-10 Gloves - Bauer Vapor X Pants - Tackla 951 Shins - Nike Quest V-10 Skates - Bauer 8000 Sticks - Bauer Vapor XXX Lite, CCM Vector 100 w/ PH2 Apollo and Nike Quest Zero-G. slight changes
  6. Those skates fit nothing like the XX You beat me to it! the 8000 is more like the XX or the XXX  8000s felt completely different than XX's to me
  7. Bauer 8000 Skates 7.5 D Reviewer's Stats 5'7 140 Narrow heel, wide forefoot. Introduction - At first I actually wanted the Vapor XX's before this skate but the main reason I got the 8000's was because as soon as I put my foot in the XX's, it didn't feel right at all and because I could get it for a super discounted price.. Fit - Basically this is what got me buying the skate. Personally I loved the way Nike's locked your heel in place and when I tried it on in my store I felt the same way. Although these don't completely lock your heel in place, they work for me. 8/10 Blade/Holder - At first I was skeptical about Lightspeeds because I was so happy with my Custom+. When I stepped on the ice, I could feel the difference right away. It took some time to get used to the holders but after I did it felt perfectly right. In the future I MIGHT try Perf steel but if anything I'd probably get another non-perf and maybe switch the LS2 Power. 9/10 Weight - I have 0 complaints about the weight. 10/10 Protection - The boot is stiff. I've taken pucks to the toe, the side of the boot and I didn't feel much. 9/10 Durability - Looking at the boot and seeing all the stitching and whatnot I thought that was all there for a purpose? Was I wrong? After a few games the stitching is ripping out, theres slits, cuts, tears and plastic rips. However, these are only cosmetics. The boot itself is fine. 8/10 Conclusion - I am happy with these skates overall. I do have one thing I have to say though. Having blister problems with other skates, I thought the problem would be solved with time and breaking-in. After a period of time and thinking that I've broken them in, I've still had blister problems. I've gotten 4 on 1 foot and 3 on the other as opposed to 1 on each from the previous skates. I'm still trying to find a good insole that won't crush my toes but will give me enough support on my insteps. Overall 8.8/10
  8. better pics of mine
  9. i would've said Nike V-12s for $99.99 if you asked a couple mounths ago but if your looking to try Bauers I guess Vapor XXs are going cheap now.
  10. Nike Flexlite 12 (87 Regular Flex/P92 Naslund) Blade- At first when I got the stick I thought it was way too thick and I also thought all of that extra wrapping on the blade was a little unnecessary because I thought it would just add weight and kill the feel. I turned out to be wrong, the feel was great and the blade was plenty stiff when shooting. 9/10 Flex- Since I'm not a great slapper and all the store had was 87 Flex I picked this up and because I had to cut it down quite a bit it only got stiffer but I felt that my wristers were quite nice. 8/10 Stickhandling/Recieving passes- This is where the stick stands out for me. When stickhandling the feel is amazing and receiving passes is just so much easier than with my Apollo blade. 10/10 Shooting- As mentioned earlier the flex on this stick was probably just right for me because it wasn't too stiff or too flexy. I eventually tried doing slappers and am still trying to improve in this area and I did manage to get a few decent shots off. I still think wristers with this stick are the best. 9/10 Weight Balance- At first when I bought it I thought it was going to be a huge disappointment. When I brought it home it just seemed too heavy for me but after I cut it down it felt just right. The weight was perfect but the only thing I would say is that it is a little blade heavy. 8.5/10 Durability- Unfortunately this is where the stick loses marks. After 1 game there were gashes all over the backside of my stick and on the blade. I used this stick for about 4 games and 3 stick and puck sessions and the wrap on the bottom of the blade is gone, now making its way up to the face of the blade. The bottom part is chewed up and my blade is turning into a noodle. RIP Flexlite 12. 5/10 Shaft Shape/Cosmetics/Materials - Ergo feel, I wasn't too big a fan of the shape but after I got used to it, it felt perfect. The looks on this stick aren't bad, the green to silver gradient is pretty good but I think they should've kept the graphics consistent instead of showing the 2 carbon strips running down the other face of the shaft. This stick is the same as the Quest 1 (Aspen Core, Fibreglass and Graphite). 8/10 Conclusion- I thought the $34 I paid for this was well worth it. Scored me lots of goals and lived up to almost every one of my expectations for this stick. I've personally never performed better with a wood stick and after the blade is completely dead. Call me crazy but I have to say I like this better than my Zero G. I am most likely going to get another one of these to keep me waiting for the One60. 8.2/10
  11. WOW, didn't see it that way till you said that. You're right! with that in mind and looking at the bottom part of the stick where it says ROYALE i was staring at it for 5 minutes and realized that it didn't say Patriot, lol

  16. for once i'm actually starting to like the way easton looks this year. Their only protective I would use is the Synergy 100 shoulder pads. Everything else is way too big for me but I like the way the UL looks and the Stealth. Still not a fan of their skates cuz u know im all about the Bauer One90 :D I guess the Heatley is a nice addition to Easton though
  17. that is one beautiful stick how is the protectoe? Does it feel weird? How many bottles of it did you have to use anyway?
