  1. Another point for the Trigger pro. Was one of the few sticks I could find with a p02 curve and had used the Trigger2 last season figured why not and I haven’t been disappointed yet. One thing I will mention tho is I’ve found it to play a little softer than indicated and for a low kick stick, not sure if anyone else felt the same? Id also recommend Sherwood, really impressed with the older T100 and have the the Project line in my sights
  2. I have always been a P92 then more recently P88 kinda guy but the lie just isn't high enough for me with those. I had always heard the P02 was around a 7, but seems to be more of a 6/6.5 in reality but has worked well for me and the square toe has been a nice bonus.
  3. I never knew CCM even made a P02 clone untiI I found it on hockey supremacy website on the 3 Pro. I did some digging online and found this years ccm catalog as well as a list of CCM pro order curves that had some details, they list it as a lie and say it's a bit deeper than the P02, are those the differences you were talking about? If so can you elaborate a little more on them? Either way I went ahead and preordered the 3Pro so hopefully in a month or so I'll be able to compare myself. I noticed that too, I can't find a recent gen Nexus or Tacks with it anywhere. Seems Bauer still offers it on the Supreme line tho, but I'm not a fan of the kick point. I just started using it at the end of last season when I went on the hunt for something with the highest lie I could find at retail and grabbed a Sherwood T100 with it and fell in love right away, but was disappointed when I went to find more or any mid kick stick with it with no luck.
  4. Does anyone have any info on CCMs P20 retail curve that looks to be debuting on the new Trigger line. Only info I can find is it's suppose to be a P02 clone. I'm wondering how it compares and what the actual lie will be on it.
  5. Was the curve an option when ordering or did you have to send in a sample to have it done?
  6. @calby8 That definetly doesn't look like a cut or from a shot. Looks like bubbling either from the manufacturing or maybe from the baking process or if you used a heat gun to make some small adjustments?
  7. Those look amazing! Very curious to see how that holds up vs the stuff VH uses.
  8. No real issues after almost 2 full seasons of twice a week or more. Some cosmetic stuff like the color fading around some eyelets from the laces and socks rubbing against it and the screw on the toe cap rusting a little but they have a new toe cap with out the screw. I took a shot off the back of the heal and it cracked the epoxy but didn't effect the structure of the skate. Some of the epoxy that is around the leather trim so it has a smooth transition has chipped away from shots and sticks but again cosmetic. I don't know what most consider a long life span for top of the line skates but I expect about 5 years out of them and these seem to be about right on track for that. You may get a year or two more from a retail pair but you won't find anything that fits as well as these, and to me that's worth more than an extra season from a pair of skates.
  9. Skip 1 2- 7.5/10 3- 8 4- 7 5 to 9- 5.5 I was tightening everything a little tighter than listed but I have been getting cold toes this season, so I loosened up everything and it seems to helped. I think it might have been to my foot swelling as I played and I due use wax laces.
  10. Definitely go down. It was recommended by @oldtrainerguy28 who did my fitting. I've gone from 3/8 in my old skates to 5/8 and now at 11/16 and considering 3/4. Give 5/8 a try you won't regret it.
  11. It's 2017, that's what skates cost for us mere mortals.
  12. My felt tongues have no plastic in them. Was able to order the other ones that do have it but they are completely different from the felt ones. You have the goalie skates correct? Maybe they have a specific tongue different from the player skate? *edit just looking through the VH site, the second set I received was their low profile tongue, I thought that was the only thermo plastic one they had but stand corrected.
  13. There isn't any thermo plastic in the felt tongue. They have two tongues, at least they did when I ordered.
  14. Yep that exactly. @oldtrainerguy28I'm curious too about the tendon guard. Is it still replaceable now that it has the liner attached? i wish my pair of VH weren't still going strong so I could get the updated version lol

  16. It looks like there is a 3rd generation VH out now. I've been seeing pics on some social media with a new toe cap, they removed the screw that was on top, and a new tendon guard that has the liner going all the way up it. This is all just a guess based on pics I've seen so maybe some people who have gotten a new pair can comment or @OldTrainerGuy can shed some light on this. But if this is the case I think it's safe to say there won't be a better product coming for a little bit.
  17. Yep, been in mine for a year and a half, skating 2-3 times a week and they have held up just fine by me. Couldn't be happier!
  18. I'm not as strong a skater as you are, but I've always skipped the top eyelet with my VH and any other composite skate I've used so I could get my desired knee bend. You say you were in Graf 703s, which would have been a softer boot compared to the stiffer composite boot of VH which could be why you're noticing the difference. As for the skate loosinging up, try rebakeing them. You might get a little more warp out of the boot. For what it's worth I've never had mine loosen up on me and I've have them just over a year. When I'm lacing mine up I pull the laces over my foot just snug and then tighten it up as I move up my ankle.
  19. Very nice! I still think the basic black is the best way to go with VH and they finally did away with the toe cap screw. I noticed from your pics that the lacing eyelet spacing is spread out over the top of the foot then tightens up as it goes to the ankle, is that something you asked for or they did? Just wondering the reasoning for it?
  20. There should be no numbness, for the price you paid you shouldn't have to "live with it". Rebake and maybe punch it out a little. I found these boots become pretty playable when heated so you should be able to manipulate it enough to work for you. Also if you haven't already done it, take out the red insole and that should give you just a little more room.
  21. No issue, did mine when I first got them just to make on and off a little easier
  22. Picked up a STX Puregrip extension plug and with a little bit of hockey tape and some extra glue I was able to set it into a standard stick shaft. What a difference in comfort for the top hand! kinda hard to see in the pic but it fits in the standard shaft almost seamlessly.
  23. In the 1N shin, the width has been increased or decreased?
  24. You could have gone for 46, the year Donald Trump was born lmao. Merica!!
