Yeah, big supporter to the theory of "let the goalie see the shot". I do admit...sometimes my competitive nature gets the best of me and I square up anyways. I've been lucky so far. Bummer to hear about the walking boot. Like Chadd said....bright side is it could have been worse.

Haha - yeah that made me laugh.

Received a job promotion. Changes my role a little bit and adds some responsibilities. Really excited to get rolling with it.

Got a speeding ticket this morning. Last ticket was 10-12 years ago. 100% my fault and didn't even try to argue it. Wasn't paying attention and he got me. Still a bummer way to start my Monday morning. I wasn't even in a rush - Ha.

Team picture supporting one of the guys who is running for the local parks & rec board. I'm front row on the far left.

Ha - The things people do on a plane, or in small confined spaces in general, is baffling. The lack of common sense and awareness of your surroundings is truly amazing.

I work with a buddy that is on my hockey team. He will cut his nails at work sometimes and I give him the hardest time about it. Given, he'll usually wait until no one is around him. There are others at my work who do it while everyone is around. I agree....that's something you do at home or at least go into the bathroom to do. Definitely a pet peeve.

I personally would just stretch whatever skate was barely to small. Having a to big of a skate is much worse. And sometimes it takes multiple sessions to get a brand new skate to stretch /expand a bit. I wouldn't throw in the towel just yet.

Very cool! I remember making the transition back to ice hockey (started ice, then played roller for awhile, then went back to ice) and it's odd at first. Takes a little getting used too, but once you do it's way more addicting. My current ice hockey team used to be all roller hockey guys. Good luck!

I used to think that about the LE White skates Bauer does. But hey, it's your money and if you're happy with them because they fit the way you need....then screw everyone else. They do look really good by the way.

Finally popped my first water bottle in a game last night. Never have done that before. A surprisingly great feeling - haha.

Intentionally skipped a late (10:50P) Sunday rec league game before a week schedule break. Was kind of getting banged up and burnt out. Plus, had spent that whole weekend cutting and burning a backyard tree. Was great to essentially get two weeks off, but finally feeling the itch to play again. Which is great because my new summer league starts at one rink on Friday and then my other spring league follows up on Sunday. Love fitting in a couple games over a weekend like that.

Was able to get all the wood split from the tree I fell last week. Also burned all the remaining branches/limbs that I couldn't classify as fireplace wood. The backyard is finally "mine" again. Definitely a good feeling and was able to clean it up in time for my daughters birthday party.

I'm going to assume he means the look if Chadd had stitches in his forehead?
-
Let's be honest. Chadd was just trying to channel his inner Taylor Hall.

Like some have already said (I just want to agree with their opinions) is to take the skate to a shop and have them punch that section out. It won't take much. I had the exact same problem with a pair of Bauer Vapors. I had been skating in them for about a month then played in a 5-game roller hockey tournament over the weekend. Put my Vapors for the next ice hockey game and had killer pain in that exact spot. So much so that when I would put my skate on I'd grimace and almost couldn't do it. Took the skate into my LHS and had him punch it. Zero pain and it felt so much better.

Knocked down a tree in my backyard over the weekend. Went down without a problem and now I will have no more seed sized cherries in my back yard.

Yes it is. My bad. I was looking at the Base website at the same time as posting this. Oops.

Ordered a #10 blade pattern from Harrow. Have played 2 games with it so far and am getting it dialed in. It's so much fun to play with.

Oh, it was back near the end of 2011 when they ran it. You picked one of the 4 CCM NHL guys on their FB team. Whoever had the most members were then eligible to win a 1st and 2nd place time prize. I got the 2nd place prize which gave me the option to pick some product. Was very happy because I never win stuff like that.
-
Nice! Congrats. Always a good feeling to win some new gear. I won the CCM gear contest they had on Facebook awhile back and I had just won the lottery jackpot as far as I was concerned.

Got the valve replaced and everything dried out. Now just to get the sheet rock cut out and a new piece put in. All in all not as bad as it could have been.
-
Woke up to a swimming pool in my kitchen. Found out the water valve for the fridge water/icemaker cracked at some point yesterday/last night. Got it closed but it's still leaking so I will be replacing it today. The surrounding dry wall is toast as well so I'm going to have to figure out to best replace it. Hooray Monday!

Had my head down in my rec league last night and got rocked. The thing is...it's a non-contact league. So the guy went to the box and felt shame (probably not the shame part) and I have a bit of a sore neck this morning. He hit me pretty high which was the part that made me mad. We were up 4-1 in the third and had spent 80% of the game in their zone. I know the hit was out of frustration, but still....you don't hit that high.
