A little late but the King heads down I-95 to sign with the Capitols:
-
Probably the most interesting FA signing thus far (to me) is Tyson Barrie going to EDM: I like the deal because Barrie has the ability to be their PP QB. Toronto is a tough place to play and reminds of how my city treats the Eagles and football. Barrie clearly isn't the most defensive blueliner but his offensive upside should fit in well with Oilers. I'll be intrigued to see how this goes this upcoming season.

Significant trade between Chicago and Colorado:

Its gotta be the "Starting Goalie" that CGY had to factor in when making the contract. Otherwise, I agree with you. Definitely feel the amount of years is longer than I'd like. Would it make sense to bring Fleury back? Unless Jarry/DeSmith can't handle a 82 game season together? I think a vet 'tender makes sense but wouldn't the Flower require a decent price tag?

Torey Krug to STL: I guess this makes Pietrangelo comeback officially a no-go?

TJ Brodie aswitching coasts and heading to TOR:

Markstrom is headed to Calgary:

Big news here: Shattenkirk to Anahiem! That actually seems like a really good contract for the Ducks

I agree. It's a good reset for Holtby to be with a team that should see better years to come. I like the signing.

IPv6Freely's Never-Ending Season

Eh. That wasn't even that impressive of a shot haha. Unfortunately, the shot was extremely accurate... -
For a guy who is only 27, the low compensation doesn't bode well for where Murray is at in his career: Will be interesting to see how he fits in NJ. Definitely has a chance to bring life back into his career heading into a contract year.
-
Agreed. I didn't think Matt Murray was going to get traded but he is a RFA this offseason: https://www.spotrac.com/nhl/ottawa-senators/matthew-murray-13528/ Domi gets extended/resigned by CBJ:

Just saw that Matt Murray was traded to OTT. Surprising from me as an outsider.

NY Rangers buy out Lundqvist's contract

It makes sense but it will still be weird to see the Rangers play and Hank not be in the crease. Regardless, the Rangers have an exciting future starting with the 2020 NHL Draft to start off the anticipated 2020-21 seaason. -
Good call on Colorado. They were decimated with injuries. They were fun to watch. As I Flyers fan, I'm envious of all the young talent that roster has haha.
-
Kiddos to the NHL for pulling this off. Yes, it sucks not having fans in the stands but as a hockey nerd, I really enjoyed the competition shown throughout the Bubble Hockey Tournament. Good on TB for winning the Stanley Cup again as a "small market" team.

Happen to see this in Instagram first: https://ici.radio-canada.ca/sports/1737372/chronique-hockey-martin-leclerc-famille-lefebvre-alliance-true-equipement-gardiens Looks like Lefevre is moving to a partnership with TRUE Hockey.

Yea, I bought a GELSTX a couple of months back due to me "staying away" from the rink until further notice. Definitely heavier but, as mentioned early, the stick is well balanced. Since I've been working from home, I'll take just a couple of minutes during my lunch break to do some simple stickhandling. In just that short time both forearms experience a healthy burn (especially my top hand = my non-dominant hand). It will be interesting to see when I use a normal stick again haha.
-
All I got to say this series has been fun to watch and proves that the best two teams are playing for the Cup. I don't know if my prediction will come true but both teams deserve to win it all.

Bauer Shield For Corona Virus
215BroadStBullies610 replied to beerleaguecaptain's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
At least CCM and others are giving people an option to play hockey and be responsible. This thread only proves why I haven't worn a pair of skates since mid-March and who knows when I'll be back because I know there were always be people who feel a certain way haha. What I'm glad is that there is a concentrated effort to keep hockey from being disrupted again. -
This Dallas team just keeps on impressing. I'm hoping for a long series but Dallas looks like they have that post-season "magic" on their side.
