  1. I think I understand...and if it's anything like what I'm thinking, it's probably a bit too complicated/involved for some of the idiots I work with. Of the guys who are actually allowed to touch the machine, there are one or two that have a hard time dressing the wheel without dropping the diamond on it as it is... We don't use a Blackstone in my shop...but my team does, so I'm hoping I get a look at this real soon - my curiosity has definitely been piqued.
  2. I've been able to fool around with both the TI and the TI-Pro...the TI is actually the better stick.
  3. When I was growing-up playing with the Buffalo Saints, we practiced out of "Firemen's Park" ice rink in Depew...during the winter, we would have to keep the water bottles moving around on the bench to make sure they kept from freezing. Fucking COLD...but easily some of the best ice I've ever skated on. I'm sure some of the Buffalo guys know what I'm talking about. As much as I hate the place (it's a dump), there's a small part of my heart that almost kinda enjoys going back and skating there when I get the chance.
  4. For real, that dude is the toughest half-shield in the league. Will back down and never drop the gloves but when the refs come in and try to separate, that's when he's at his toughest. Give Pat Kaleta a couple years...he's up there on my list, already. For all the times I've seen him challenged after a hit (quite a few of them being "borderline-clean"), I can only think of a couple occasions in which he actually dropped the mitts...
  5. I wish I was old enough to be able to appreciate what you've got, there.
  6. Read the post above yours, dude. Caesar's is no joke - consistently a contender at Nationals just about every year. Definitely one of the premier organizations in the country...always easy to get up for a game when you know those guys are in the other dressing room.
  7. Look like custom X-72s to me.
  8. Been in the XXXX glove a bit lately; not a big fan. The fingers are a bit short(er) and aren't very mobile. My fingers aren't particularly long and are relatively skinny, but I had a lot of problems with the length and the location of the break. Longer, three-piece fingers would get me back into them...but the retail glove just isn't for me.
  9. I couldn't resist.....but this coming from the guy that has "tha Jesus" in his avatar. B) It's an underrated movie.
  10. Not to mention the ones most likely to proposition, outside of buzz who will proposition just about any woman, are their own walking cockblock. It's probably best that most of the members in question don't procreate, anyways.
  11. Word. But is it still cockblocking if none of them will ever so much as meet this girl?
  12. ...prepare for indecent proposals; guys can always think of SOMETHING to do - but I'm not going to be the loser that tries to be suggestive via internet.
  13. I'm thinking that has to be intentional/embellished. Judging by the way she's finished, it almost looks like the target was the end boards at the other end of the rink...lol.
  14. I remember their cheerleaders being much more attractive when I went to the Frozen Four in 2003. Then again, I was like, 14 at the time, so just about anything with boobs looked pretty good to me...I've since become more critical.
  15. ...once your cage splits your chin, it's going to happen again and again and again. It got to the point where, anytime I had a really good collision with anyone, our manager was ready on the bench with towels, butterflies, gauze and tape...ready to roll by the time I got off. We got really, really, really good at getting everything patched-up quickly; if I was rushed to get back on the ice (PP/PK, end of tight game, etc.), I'd be clean and ready to go after missing almost no game time. I'm having the same problem with a gash I got on the bridge of my nose. I got clipped at Junior camp (ironically, my very first day rockin' the halfer) and have had issues ever since. It's not as persistent a problem as the one with my chin, but if a glove or shoulder or something like that catches my face, there's a good chance it'll open again.
  16. No Grip-Zone I take it? Shaft shape? *crosses fingers*
  17. Nice mitts, Zach. They've gotta be dirty with your whites, eh?
  18. ALL of their stuff is unbelievable, though some of the purely instrumental stuff off the new album has me scratching my head.
  19. I actually had the TDAGARIM album cover up before this one. One of the great things about Brand New is the fact that the music itself is excellent, but it's only enhanced by the lyrics and the background and emotions driving them; listen to the words. Jesse wrote "Guernica" while his grandfather was dying of cancer, "Seventy Times 7" was written after Jesse's friend (John Nolan, then with Taking Back Sunday - who answered with "There's No I in Team") slept with Jesse's girlfriend. Jesse wrote "Limousine" after a little girl was killed by a drunk driver in a town not far from where he grew-up; she had just served as the flower girl at a relatives wedding and was in the limo on the way to the reception. She was actually decapitated and her mother (who was driving her own car behind the limo) cradled the girl's head at the side of the road; she actually had to be physically separated from it. There is a lot of personal regret expressed throughout a lot of the stuff - particularly where religion is concerned (especially, but not necessarily exclusively, in the third album). If you're looking for other similar groups, you might want to check out some of Taking Back Sunday's older stuff and Straylight Run (both of which have ties with Brand New). If you do enough digging, you might be able to find some stuff by "The Rookie Lot," which featured a few members of Brand New before Brand New actually formed.
  20. I threw their name out on the first page - about a month before "The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me" was released; an album which was better than I ever could have hoped for. They've been touring a lot lately. Luckily, my schedule has allowed me to make it to five shows in a little over a year, now. I was worried that I'd be let-down by the live show, but they're even better in concert.
  21. White cages make any set-up look so much better.
  22. My bet would be Pure Hockey.
