2009-2010 Washington Capitals Thread

Apparently Ovi was joking. http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=297794 -
Considering how every ice time my one95's seem to cause more uneasiness then they should, those X:60's are really tempting to go try on. Perhaps I've been in the wrong boot this whole time...

Link? And why was Semin out? -
This really is a great story. Last night I was listening to Hockey Central talk about Phil Kessel and his scoring prowess. So I looked up his stats and saw he put up 286 points in Bantam A. Called my 14 yr old brother over to check it out (he made rep for the first time ever and is playing on the A2 team, one less then what everyone gets drafted out of). We started looking at some other first round draft picks and noticed that a lot of them got around 200 points when they were 14. For him, a kid who has just shot up to 6 feet and doesn't have the hands yet to dangle anyone, seeing aspirations of 200 points was extremely discouraging. So I told him to look up David Perron. Needless to say it's awesome to see that someone out their didn't give up on their dream and kept fighting for it. It's truly inspirational, and definitely gave him a new perspective on the game, and motivation to keep working hard. Great game last night David, keep up the good work.

Shouldn't be hard to move those, I'm sure there's more than a few people on here who would take them
-
I'm guessing it would have been his first?
-
Those red white cole's are gorgeous. They would go so well with my team's jersey's to. Damn
-
Whenever I check the scores and see David Perron on the score sheet, I immediately jump over to MSH to read what you guys have to say lol. Good for him though on a solid night last night. JR if you talk to him tell him to get Kariya scoring - I need more points from him in my pool!

Whether it's stronger or not, the first fbv I got I did roll the edge. Lost it completely. Hasn't happened since though, I have a feeling it was a fluke. -
Holding them in the store they didn't look anywhere near as glittery....

I can second that. Going from FBV 100/75 to 3/8 ROH it always feels like my blades are sticking to the ice. -

Wow, Ovie already with two. He sure is dominating the start of the season (Semin and Backstrom as well). Anyone know what he does in the offseason? -
Wow, very well put.

Anybody else look at this thread title and sing in their head: "Flat bottom V you make the hockey world go fast!" to the tune of fat bottom girls? -
I was gonna say I'm pretty sure that isn't an S17. So the S19 is pretty accurate, or is that all talent JR? lol
-
Got Derek Roy's stick from the Hockey Canada Auction. Not sure if I'm gonna keep it yet or not..... It's definitely not an s17, but the shaft is no where near as concave as a stock CNT. Good thing is the top of the shaft and blade still look brand new, the only blemishes are in the black fade. Have a feeling this might have been used in warmup or one practice and that's it; think it sat on the bench for the game as the tape is still new on the blade.

It isn't even that far, just under 20k. Traffic is just a gamble and can be downright atrocious. -

$1500 shy of my X-02! lol. Sucks though, cause my 14 yr old brother just told me today he can't skate on anything else. Meaning more trips to the hockey shop just for fbv! (it isn't close, and with traffic can be a 2+ hour trip) -
Wow, I love that some sticks are still in wrappers. How do you pick which ones to use?
-
With Drew's sticks and TBL's gloves, I'm pretty sure you could outfit the whole nhl....
-
No photos from the hosers game the other night? Not that I really had any ice time, still would love to see my bambi like skating with those rentals.

I don't mind paying more, but I thought more work was involved (hockey shop also takes about 20 min each pair). By the sounds of it, and fbv requires no more effort then an ROH? hmm, even more argument to get my own machine... -

I guess I just never thought of it as a premium service, just a sharpening. I guess that's fairly ignorant as the sharpening lasts longer and performs better. -

Yah, saw those signs yesterday, pretty sweet. As for $10 to sharpen, i'm pretty sure I only was charged 8 bucks..nevermind just checked the bill - 8.92. Makes a strong case for getting your own machine and charging less. -

Larry's Sports in North Vancouver must have the FBV Nope. They were the ones that said it was unproven and not worth the investment at this time. They didn't want to affect their current customer base.
