  1. Alot of leagues took out the illegal curve rules.
  2. I remember Inno was trying to bring out all of their curve in varying lies, I'm a little dissappointed Warrior didn't continue with it, but if these are as low as shown then I'll be happy anyways. JR have you seen the actual blades and curves, or just the catologue?
  3. That was pretty decent, I like the looks of alot of things coming out and may have to give that Weight curve a go. I'm thinking the low lies could really help them, because it seems alot of people (around here at least) are using lies that are fairly high for them.

    Bauer 4000 HH

Fit: Easy to adjust, fits my head fairly well, a little tight on the sides, but it doesn't cause any problems. 8/10 Protection: No complaints after switching from a 4000, but I haven't been in any situations to test it. 8/10 TBD later. Weight: Very light weight. Easily in the top 3 of the lightest, approved helmets on the retail market as of posting. Nothing else good or bad I can say. 8/10. Durability: I have had issues with cracking in the past on the 4000 models, but this seems to be better. Overall with my 3 4000's on the line they get a 8/10. They seem to last longer than the 5000 because of the padding used. Intangibles: I am a fan of the traditional padding, I find it more comfortable. Protection has been there and durability seems to be improving. Conclusion: If it fits, go for it. It does what it is supposed to do, but doesn't go beyond it. 8.5/10
  5. Mission M-1 Pro Nylon Fit- This is a medium fitting glove. Inbetween the Eagle x70 (loose) and the Vapor XXX (tight) 8.5/10 Protection- The glove comes with dual and single density foam and plastic inserts throughout the glove. I haven't had any issues with protection. 9.5/10 Weight- Weight isn't a very important quality in a glove for me. However, these gloves are pretty light. The Nylon makes these vary light and not noticable on your hands 9.5/10 Durability- TBD no complaints after 2 months of usage to this point. 9/10 Intangibles- This is a glove that feels nice everytime I put it on. I had issues with my eagle palms crusting, and the padding inside these M-1's are a dream. Conclusion- These have been great for me thus far. I would have preferred a little looser fitting, but it isn't really an issue when the inside is so comfortable. The gloves breathe very well and are extremely light. 8.5/10
  6. Product: Custom Graf 709: Great White, varying sizes/widths, Teclite outsole, LS2 holder Reviewers Specs: 5'11, 210lbs, flat, wide feet Intro: I've been looking at different skates most of my life trying to find a good fit. After having the 609's for 2 years I decided to step up and invest in custom 709's because the fit was good and performance has been excellent Blade/Holder: I tried T'blades with my old skates, but put LS1's on because I was able to sharpen myself. These have LS1's, with LS2 "bolts and steel" so it is essentially an LS2 holder. Everything has been excellent, a little "clicking", but it did not effect performance. I have to drill holes into the soles to access the bolts, but it isn't a big issue and your LHS can do it for you. Steel seems to hold an edge well. 9/10 Fit: The 609's were great, so it was just tweaking from there. These have been perfect. I had a bit of an issue with rubbing because I am normally a barefoot guy, but since switching to Addidas dry-fit socks the problems have gone away. 10/10 Protection: After 2 months of usage, I haven't had any protection issues. The skate is extremely stiff and durable. 9/10 Weight: Not heavy, but not light either. I am not big on weight, so it doesn't really come into play for me, but I understand others are lighter. 7/10 Durability: Still stiff, no complaints of anything at all. A loose stitch or two, but it doesn't appear they are anything yet. WILL UPDATE AT A LATER TIME. 10/10 FOR NOW Conclusion: These skates have been everything I expected, I couldn't ask for anything more. They are comfortable and meeting my expectations of durability and performance. There are always area's to improve on, weight being one, maybe a slightly tighter fit, so the skates won't get a perfect rating, but they have been great to me thus far. Overall evaluation: 9 out of 10 points (not an average).
  7. Send them an e-mail and ask. That was my only experience with a protect toe like product, so it may have been a once in a lifetime mistake. another option is just taping up the logos and spray painting the stick.
  8. Careful with the Pro Toe, sometimes non "Protect toe" brangs come off a little rubbery. I got a knock-off protect toe (possibly the one in the auction) for the bottom of an OPS I wanted to use for roller hockey and when I applied it, it came off all rubbery.
  9. No, but at the top of the product it will have a code that says Heatley if it is offered.
  10. I like the looks of all the new sticks. Are the Stealths still fading from black to the red/blue, or is it a darker? They seem similar to the ST in graphics, but I am not against any of the graphics this time, except for the Z-Bubble grip and ST blade. I'm a little surprised about the Green Synergy II we saw when this is coming out soon.
  11. Weight It's not heavy, but it also isn't light. It is a big rubber plug afterall, so that needs to be kept in mind. It's definately heavier than the alternatives of either making your own Handle, adding a comp plug or adding a wodden butt end. 7/10 Balance The balance is different than any other stick with these in. Because it's a thin handle, measuring for balance in the middle of the stick is alot different than from the handle. The stick plays a little heavier than it usually did because the grip is so much thinner. 6/10 Grip It is extremely "grippy", you need to make an effort to get your hand off because the shape. The butt-end wraps in your hands, and the rubber sticks to the palms. 10/10 Feel I haven't noticed and increase or decrease in shot velocity, and passing/ stickhandling hasn't been effected. It takes a few shifts to get used to, but it's not tough to pick up. 8/10 Durability I'll update this as it goes. I was a little worried about it because it's a heavier butt-end and the tenon appears to be plastic, but it hasn't caused problems. I need to add some tape to get a good fit because the first skate it popped out after about 20 minutes of constant wiggling. It hasn't worn my gloves as much at all, but I'll update this as it goes. 9/10 Overall I'm happy with it, I will not go out of my way to buy one again, but it is something I'm glad I tried. If I need a large plug, I'd say I may get one, but thats really my only situation. I do suggest trying it and forming your own opinion, they aren't expensive, it is handy to have a 6" plug around, but use it in the right situation. It can be a dangerous "test" if your cutting 6" off your game stick for an experiment. It has a nice grip on it, maybe a little too tacky for me, but some may view that as a positive. I'd give it a 6.5/10 (not an average). It just didn't add anything I needed and marginally affected the weight/balance in a negative way in my case.

    CCM Vector

CCM Vector Gloves Fit- These gloves fit rather large. It's a big 14," that comes with a wrist wrap/protection as well. I have fairly small hands, so this was a bit overwhelming at first coming from Eagle X70s. Fit's PP, I won't give it a rating, but the fit just wasn't good for me. I have fairly small hands, I like alot of freedom in the wrists. This was a semi-loose gloves for the hands and wrists, but again, tighter than the X70s. I loosened the wrist wrap and it helped alot. Protection- This is where the glove thrives. Has the wrist wrap, the glove seems to have a hard sheel everywhere. Thumb, fingers, back of the hands, in the cuff, but it doesn't hinder mobility at all. I was impressed with the great overall protection of the gloves 10/10 Weight- I wouldn't know what to say on this. The felt light to me. I don't know what a good glove weight is really. Didn't notice anything extremely light, but also didn't notice them on my hands at all. 8/10 Durability- I had these for a few skates and few shootarounds. Didn't notice any wear on the palms not the gloves. Looked brand new. Didn't have them for a very long time, but good for the short time they were in my possession 9/10 Intangibles- The palms. Seem to be re-inforced, with grip. I was using a non-grip stick, and I've always been a grip guy and I felt these gave me better control than any grip stick I've ever used. Didn't notice any wear with that and it just worked out well. Also the wrist-wrap is a nice feature to have if you prefer the extra protection 9/10 Conclusion- The fit wasn't there for me. I had to get rid of them because of it, but it was tough. I just felt I didn't need all the extra protection and it didn't seem to "click" for me. Ontop of that, it's a protective glove, and being at my stage, I don't need all of that coverage. That being said, they were the only drawbacks for me, and both are personal issue. The actual glove was first class all the way. Had everything a protective glove should and more. If you can, try these on like you should with any piece of equipment. See if they fit, if they do, I'd definately suggest investing in a pair. I'd rate these a 8/10 only because of my issues with the fit. Still a great product and has opened my eyes to CCM equipment (I've always kind've steered away from everything except the Tack skates)
  14. Not getting what you asked for? Definately. It's the same as them screwing up the colour IMO.
  15. Was it a team order or a custom? I've never been a fan of them without Eagle on the cuff. I always thought the EAGLE on the cuff was the nicest (cosmetic) aspect of the glove.
  16. I wouldn't get it done till the season started just incase.
  17. I'm considering changing the number and putting Crosby on the back of my light Blue Pens Jersey.
  18. Any chance of the Ignla curve being re-named? It seems he'll be all Nike upon his return.
  19. I've always liked how well Oleg Tverdovsky skated, especially his acceleration and how he'd change from choppy strides to gain speed to long smooth strides to keep his speed.

    R2 XN10

TPS R2XN10 shaft Usage before review: 2 months+ Shaft shape/flex: I am using an R Flex. After some 85's recently, I thought the R would be a nice change and hopefully solve some the torquing issues I've had and it seems to have worked. I'm not overly fond of the boxy shaft, but I don't notice it during games. 8/10 Stickhandling/Passing: I find blades make the most difference. There isn't any vibrating, flexing or noise when taking a pass so everything that I've felt has been great. 9/10 Weight/Balance: Unbelievably light, and I always find the balance is great with it. I've used a few different blades and made some minor changes with end plugs to help it out, but everything has been great. 10/10 Shooting: This is my third of the three Xn10 products and theres a reason I keep coming back to it. This is by far the best shooting stick I've ever used. No problems with torquing or breakage. I find the Stealth has been the best non-Xn10 product for shooting I've used, but i'd rank the R2 Xn10, Xn10 and RL Xn10 ahead of it and in that order 10/10 Durability: I broke my OPS after a month of usage, but my level and frequency of play has dropped significantly since then. It shows no wear, very few marks and no signs of breaking down. 9/10 Conclusion: This shaft is light, durable (from my experience), has great kick and perfect balance. I'd like a little rounder shaft, but the other aspects make that a non-issue. No product on the market offers everything I want, but this is definately the closest. I'd recommend it to everyone assuming the flex is bearable for them and shaft shape is either what the like, or not the most important factor. Final score: 9 out of 10
  21. It's the sharpener most of all. Eastons may be easier to do it to, but if they are that bad, you need to look elsewhere. Either a new LHS, different steel you can ship to have sharpened or T'blades.
  22. Yours are screwed and its the sharpener that would even them out, not you. My Missions are the same way, I'll try and throw up a pic, and I've done a fair bit of work to even them out already.
  23. Whatcha getting on the Customs? I think I may have to grab some customs in the P13 I have. Few little mods, but its definately a little bit of heaven.
