  1. It isn’t just about fit it is about skill level and skating ability as well. Just because it is the top-of-the-line skate doesn’t mean it’s right for you and it definitely does not mean you were going to skate better. It is a system where all components need to sync together such as playing level skating ability size and what you actually need the skate to do.
  2. Saw the video and didn’t see a Knouff of a change between previous models to justify. CCM likes to use the word optimize a lot which to me sounds like it wasn’t big enough of a change to collect something else.I think the frequency of stick releases lately is too much. 1.5 to 2 years Is where it should be at
  3. I am out of sticks and need to place an order for a couple tonight but my choices are limited. Pro Stock 2017 1S 87 Flex (non se) QX 82 Flex T8 QX or Trigger 2 85 Flex. They’re all P28 and all built as painted. Looking for overall thoughts from users with experience with the sticks. I am a shoot first forward And I take every kind of shot
  4. At a quick glance the Pacioretty pro curve looks like a P92 ish pattern but a lot of places say it’s a P28/P92 hybrid. Not sure if he messes with his a lot like a Vatrano but I’ve been thinking about giving it a shot since he uses a QX build in my flex. It also looks to be a lower lie with a more closed toe. Any input?
  5. No matter what the price it’s too much. Haven’t paid more than $75-$150 for a brand new stick and I haven’t used anything but top of the line sticks current model or previous year.
  6. Spend your money elsewhere. You can buy brand new top of the line sticks almost anywhere now for $150 or less.
  7. Curious to see how many people here use the P14. Could have sworn they were getting rid of it but 2NPro is out and still the P14 exists. I see it a lot at the NCAA level but never pro. I broke my last P28 that I’ve been using for almost 2 years but thinking about going back to the P92 or maybe giving the P14 a shot.
  8. I’ve been using retail CX E28s for almost 2 years now and on my last one. Currently have two Warrior W28 customs but they look much milder. What is the closest retail pattern or pro curve to a retail E28? Is it Bauer P28, CCM P28 or does the E28 clone no longer exist?
  9. Oh she has his own which is not a P08.
  10. No there is not. Scott Bjugstad is one of the key developers of the pattern. Nothing to do with Ovi.
  11. Negative. Mcdavid has his own pro curve. Similar to P88 but still very different
  12. After dissecting some Getty images it looks like EK65 was an F4LR Guy 3k weave. His HD1 in 2016 were that build and QRLs in 16-17 were as well but now he is in T8 QX as of the last game of the season dressed as a QRE.
  13. The HD1 that I saw was an EK65 in 3k weave. If you have a QX that’s also an F4LR it’s a safe bet to say that’s his go to build. Never used one. They arrive tomorrow
  14. I know that F4 is for sure fused mid kick. T3/T4 are the one pieces hence T9 QRE/T8 QX/T3QR for QRL but this is a Burmistrov QRL dressed F4LR with 3k. My previous Burmistrov was a T3QR dressed as the QRL as well but actually one. Both had 3k. I know that EK 65 Bounces around a lot with flexes and builds but I’ve seen F4LR on an EK before. Dressed as an HD1. I have also seen F4HD as the HD one build
  15. As far as I know Warrior pro stock stick construction F4LR is a fused-mid kick stick with light blade kit (lighter foams) and Ribs in blade (slightly stiffer blade). The stick has 3k weave. I’ve seen this code on Dynasty AX1s but some are saying it’s an HD1 build with T4 being HD1 build but in true one piece. QR means new materials (more durable). Is it it’s own construction or tied to a retail build?
  16. NO. Too much random info flying around. C width Nexus boot isn’t going to fix his problem just get his overthinking wheels spinning. I sent you a message, you need to take the advice and get your drive on. You’re already going to lose a good chunk of money being your own fitter. I’ve gone through my own fitting woes, did my own fittings for the next two pairs and now I don’t even think about my skates because of the fit. They’re just there. Supreme boot as your base. Everyone has a hard on for scanning this and 3D that... this isn’t the end all be all or fool proof by any means. Ask pros that I know who even have lasts made of their feet and it’s still not good enough. TSR/Zwickers. The end.
  17. I’m in Bauer. I live in New England so where might not help. If you’re posting here you’ll probably get pushed into VH/True because everyone here seems to think that they’re the end all be all for custom skates but I disagree. Depends on what you want to spend and where you’re willing to travel. From what I can see your ankle is the issue. You need volume but only there really. I need your measurements but I wouldn’t doubt you could make a Supreme boot work with a +1 or +2 quarter/facing. Nexus line is not for you and it looks like you’d be turning a Vapor boot into a frankenskate before you’re done which defeats the purpose. You need to do homework on the most knowledgeable shops in your area but don’t let a regular sales rep touch your feet. They usually don’t know anything about fitting and customs are only as good as your fitters knowledge. That Bauer 3D scan is just the beginning too not the end all be all: it’s work. $950+Fee. And you need to order soon or you’re gonna wait forever behind the pro orders. I order in May when I do.
  18. This is a joke. True story here... Ordered a MyBauer 1N (I was drunk). Stick came in and I had a cracked heel 2 weeks (4 games in)... I needed a stick and found a Reebok Ribcor stray on a rack at a tiny shop... bought it for $125.00 The stick took an epic slash that didn’t totally break the stick but it was a fart away from it... I snapped it. Called up CCM Warranty, I asked for a replacement Reebok or 40k if need be. They said no... no as in were sending you a Reckoner not an older model even though you bought this ON SALE and the stick was 3 years old. 4 days later on Christmas Eve I had a new Reckoner at my door from Montreal.
  19. Customs. You pay $75-100 fee. The shop needs to be reputable for fitting. You need extended quarters and facing. 1. Find the right shop that can do it 2. Reps don’t know everything neither does the fitter so have some research in your back pocket but be open minded 3. The end. I messed around with 7 pairs of skates before ponying up the money for customs. Don’t waste time or money putting a square into a round peg hole. Find the best fitting ish skate retail and modify that.
  20. Actually they have a Frank Vatrano Alpha QX T8 QX in White that’s a 75 flex. It’s a P28 curve with a P92 Blade profile. If I were you I’d grab that one. They had 6 but I bet they’re low.
  21. Previous gen 1X was a much better stick IMO. Bauer has gotten a lot of flak about durability woes as of late. If I had money for one stick out of the two and needed it to hold up pretty well it’d be the TR2 over the Lite.
  22. I have since had a couple more Trigger2s but the 1X abnormally fragile. Not usable fragile not just cosmetic.
  23. Go with the Trigger2. 1X Lites haven’t been great in the reliability sector.
  24. Are you trying to find the right stick or are you playing hockey with the filtering option?
