  1. I was just messing with you. I work with a guy who goes bonkers when someone says irregardless 😉
  2. Irregardless is not a real word.
  3. My stores in Seattle, WA just got them this week. We are putting them on the floor the beginning of next week. I assume other stores have either got their shipments or they are en route currently. Might want to check your local stores to see when they will be getting them in.
  4. For that price I would have CCM make me a new pair. Thats a lot of cash. As for your observation about not having weight on your feet when scanning. As someone who deals with a lot of custom skates I agree with you 100%. Without having weight bearing in the proper stance the scan will never be to the proper specification. This is why TRUE makes you do a "warrior pose" when you are scanned and then also is very specific about making sure nose, knees and toes are all aligned when baking. I have heard of players when being scanned putting the chair against the wall and pushing down on the glass with their feet to generate a weighted load. Not sure how effective this is though.
  5. More ergonomic and not as wide as it makes the skates look bulky and not streamlined. Ideally, I wish they would go back to have a composite toe cap as I really liked that look, though I know its not nearly as durably as the current materials being used.
  6. I wish they would streamline the toe cap a little. That's my only complaint currently with the TRUE skates.
  7. Margins for top tier skates is terrible and you move fewer high ends skates compared to mid-range models. I won't stock anything more costly than a Supreme 2S or Vapor x800 (Vapor 2X) and with CCM the JS490, Tacks 9080 and Ribcor 78K. If a customer wants to spend 1K on skates I always recommend they go custom since its only slightly more cost but the benefits are well worth it.
  8. Yeah. My analogy sucked. I'll be the first to admit it. Too much sun, sitting in the pool, and margaritas. Clouds the mind.
  9. Perhaps it's a feature they have determined has limited benefits? Like driving a 1000hp car on the 10 freeway in Los Angeles during the week rush hour. They did lower the price point considerably so they had to cut cost in some places. Using cheaper steel and a non composite outsole seems like a decent combination for cutting costs hut still having a very performant skate.
  10. Who is to say a composite material is any better or worse than pro level TPU? Lots of NHL players using TPU outsole and/or midsole.
  11. Honestly, I am still a little skeptical of a one-piece boot being the "end game" for skate technology. Plenty of players use two-piece skates, including the best around; McDavid, Crosby, McKinnon, Kucherov, Hall, and many more. Do I think the technology is superior to a one-piece skate, yes. But there are also limitations when developing a one-piece skate which is why TRUE and CCM fit very differently. In the future, I imagine companies making a two-piece skate fused in the ankle section to allow for more mobility. This would allow them to dial in different stiffness specifications. The MAKO (RIP) and TRUE skate are the only ones I have seen so far moving in this direction Does it really matter? It's not like 95% of players are going to really notice the difference.

  13. Was in a shop this afternoon and came across these little guys. Really digging the new toe cap. Not a huge fan of all the bright neon yellow.
  14. It's more than just a quick release holder.... I cannot comment on anything more though.
  15. One thing is for sure, anyone who ever complained about weight will surely have nothing to whine about anymore. Still not a justification to skip leg day though 😉
  16. ...and the super thin pro spec tongue 😉
  17. The new process is fantastic. Nothing but solid feedback from everyone regarding it. In fact, we now do this same process for ALL skates at our store.
  18. Ha. Guess I opened myself up for that one, didn't I? 😉
  19. How many people are buying new skates every two years though? Most players I know who wear TRUE skates specifically buy the brand because they know the skates are built to last. The durability of their skate has been tested and proven at all levels of hockey.
  20. I don't know if I would consider that ironic. The dark clarino TRUE liners are VERY nice and don't absorb as much moisture and they also dry out very fast too. I absolutely consider them to be top notch! From an overall technology perspective they are much more advanced than the tan clarino.
  21. There is always going to be new stuff released and such. Technology is fairly progressive.
  22. TRUE has a snug fit liner they are testing but is not available to the public as of yet. Stay tuned. In the meantime, if you know the right people and ask nicely you can still get the tan clarino. I got them to hook you up 😉
  23. The grey clarino doesn't soak up as much moisture and is noticeably thicker than the tan liner. This is why when you see most of TRUE skates being used by professionals they almost always have the tan liners. It provides much better grip locking the foot into place. I usually don't recommend the fabric liner. While it does promote good foot lock and does a great job wicking away moisture, the skates become very heavy and take a long time to dry out fully. It's also not as durable.
