  1. I find their grips are too thick and prevent me from having enough puck feel.
  2. For me the arch support in them actually hurts. I have very high arches so maybe that's the issue. I experimented with different sized SF but all of them hurt at the front of the area he, just behind the ball of my foot. Other than high are he's my feet are pretty standard. I'm between a 7.5D and a 7.5EE in most skates, an actual 7.5E fits perfect!
  3. They hurt my feet. Aren't grippy, so my feet slide, and don't really find they do much of anything for me that's beneficial. I like them in my shoes but not in skates.
  4. I'll check this out. Looks interesting. Kinda pricey though. I use 3M spray adhesive and then use the wrap. Its waterproof and easy can be removed with over the counter solvents. Typically I only tape my stick end once and then never need to do it again.
  5. Makes me wonder though if a player actually feel that slight off mounting? I was poking around online and found some other Pro Stock skates with oversized holders. To be honest, they also look like they are mounted very far forward as well. One of them was a pair of 280 holders on a 7.5 skate, for example.
  6. I used to use this buy on my gloves with softer palms it does wear them slightly and discolor them hence why I stopped using it.
  7. Is this thing for real or is this some April Fools joke? Looking at it I would think your bing bong would get blown off if you take a shot to the crotch.
  8. The FT490 has slightly more room in the heel and ankle than the FT2 since there is less padding, I feel like the FT490 fits more like a Super Tack AS1 in the heel. Overall, the FT2 is slightly more snug. However. neither are as snug as the FT1. If anything, I think the fit of the FT1 is ideal for a players foot like mine and no other retail skate fits like it, including the Vapor. The only way for me to get the same level of fit is with TRUE.
  9. I personally use a Bauer Speed Plate in all of my skates. I love them.
  10. What was the cost on that? The work looks very good.
  11. Pics. Looks like they didn't drill any new holes in the rear and either made the holes in the forefoot larger or drilled new holes.
  12. I'll have him snag a photo and email me it. When I get it I'll post it.
  13. I just would imagine there would be some consistency between the two brands in regards to holders sizing. CCM used to go with larger holders than Bauer in the past.
  14. I have him that as an option, for us to install a set of 263 holders, but that's not what he wants.
  15. Yeah. I have no idea why CCM doesn't do the same.
  16. I put a layer of cloth tape and then the over wrap on top. The other option is to use some 3M glue spray and the put the over wrap on.
  17. It's a conflict of interest since I also own a shop as well. If the customer, who is also a ModSquad member, wants to share the shopping he can. I won't though.
  18. Agreed. I'll let him know. I am not sure if the shop that did the work is gonna replace the boot though for their shoddy workmanship. He said they were quite defensive when he first asked them if they mounted the holders too far forward basically telling him they do it all the time and other shops, and the online community, are overall clueless. I am trying to be politically correct by specifically not naming the shop.
  19. One thing I find interesting is these are. 7.5EE. I know on Bauer or TRUE they would normally be a 272. Why does CCM use a 263 on the same size? 263 for this boot size seems too small.
  20. These are awesome too https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JVGNQ3V/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_NrONCbTBEGR4S
  21. No. Like these. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DH1XT6J/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_KoONCbDJHZYVH
  22. Yeah, IMO those holders are destroyed and he should seek to get his money back from the shop who did the install. He also should be refunded for the installation too. Can I have him send you the skates to get the holders mounted properly? I am having the guys at the shop check and see if we have another set of 272 holders in stock so he doesn't have to drive all the way back up to Vancouver.
  23. We have the FT490 and FT2 in stock, but are obviously not selling them yet. What do you want to know about them?
