  1. I've been on a ~272 since my feet stopped growing. I tried a 263 holder/runner and I could not adjust, likely the change in where the balance/pivot point was located was what was throwing me off. With a 272 holder, the balance/pivot point is located much further back and then if you profile the steel it's pushed back another 10-20mm, depending on the profile selected. With that being said I could maybe skate on a 263 now if I adjusted the pivot balance/pivot point to match the 272 holder/runner.
  2. If you look around on Google you can find the catalog published. https://www.groupehockey.com/public/catalogues/CATALOGUE TRUE 2021 EN.pdf
  3. What size steel and what brand? I know some shops will alter the pivot point based on the steel size or brand of steel. For example, when I profile Flare I usually dont do as much forward pitch since I want to remove a minimal amount of steel possible. Also, I always tell my customers exactly what I am doing when I profile their steel. If they can't come back to me, or decide they want to go elsewhere, I don't want to be the "gatekeeper" to their profile. I know there are some shops that refuse to share details with their customers and while I understand some of that information could be considered proprietary I feel like it's customer lock-in.
  4. I've replaced it. Basically, the same fan as you can get at a computer supply store. Not sure it's really necessary though unless you are doing a lot of skate sharpenings.
  5. Did you get them in the same size as your Jetspeed? I remember trying on a pair of Graf skates and them being slightly shorter in length when compared to CCM and Bauer.
  6. I was only selecting gear that would be readily available, hence why I excluded some items. You can actually mold the 1X lite shins to make them conform better to your body. Since the shin was primarily based on CURV composite you could apply heat to the facing and mold them better to your ergonomics. I didn't know this was possible until one of my buddies who is an equipment manager showed me such. The biggest issue I have had with most any Bauer shin is the knee cap tends to crack or separate from the rest of the shinguard over time. I had this happen on every pair of Bauer shins I have owned since the first generation 1X protective.
  7. Vapor 2X Pro gear is nice but overpriced for what you get. However, if you want the absolutely lightest gear on the market there are very few options available that can compete. STX RX3 shoulders and elbow pads are good. I am not a fan of their pants or shinguards. Vapor 1X Lite gear is also light and can be found for decent pricing. If it was me, I would recommend the following, taking into account weight, cost and fitment. Shoulder Pads: STX RX3, Bauer Vapor 1X Lite, CCM Crazy Light, Bauer Vapor 2X Pro, CCM FT1 Pants: CCM Crazy Light, Bauer Vapor 1X Lite, Bauer Vapor 2X Pro, CCM FT1 Shin: Bauer Vapor 2X Pro, CCM Crazy Light, CCM FT1, Bauer Vapor 1X Lite Gloves: Bauer Vapor 1X Lite Pro, CCM Crazy Light, CCM FT1, Bauer Vapor 2X Pro, STX RX3 Elbow Pads: STX RX3, Bauer Vapor 2X Pro, CCM Crazy Light, Bauer Vapor 2X Pro, CCM FT1
  8. Thats pretty typical for this group. I sub for them occasionally and 99% of the time I have to do all of the heavy lifting.
  9. I honestly never knew Itech mad a TI cage. Crazy!
  10. I like that you colored in the blue/white details.
  11. The opening date should be sometime in March. Should have enough square footage to build one or two shooting lanes for customers to test out sticks. I just need to wait for the contractors to finish the renovations, knocking down a few walls to expand and centralize storage, laying down new flooring, and paint for the interior and exterior.
  12. It can be, but you get better benefits if your foot is not in the boot.
  13. STX stuff is nice as is the new Bauer Vapor gear too. I personally wear the 2X pro shoulder pads and after they are broken in you don't even notice them. I also skate with some guys that wear lacrosse shoulder pads.
  14. Try the Ellipse XS. I have found the Ellipse 0 is very good for speed and stability but doesn't provide as much agility as I would like. Others testing the Ellipse 0 have shared the same feedback with me as well. All of these players are skating on 263, 272, and 280 steel.
  15. Bake them and use a ratchet clamp just above the heel to lock in your foot. Like this:
  16. I play with a lot of ex-pro players (NHL, AHL, D1, etc) and a large majority of them wear shoulder pads. I assume because their entire career they always wore protection and to them, it is just normal to wear shoulder pads. I don't think wearing protection is always about a persons ability. I can skate just fine, better than a large majority of people I play with, but there are still times when you are in a foot race to the corner for a puck, shoving one another, and sh!t happens. Sticks get crossed, skates get tangled, whatever, and someone goes into the boards. I'm actually more worried about the lower level players than the high-level skaters. High-level players will know when to back off and to let the other person have the puck in a foot race while a lower-level player will go 110% and many times cause the catastrophe. Destroyed my collarbone on a breakaway a few years ago. Picked up the puck, wide open just past center ice, and the other player was 5+ lengths behind me. As I closed in on the goalie I stopped striding and the other player kept chasing me down furiously. He then swung his stick from behind into my skates and took out my feet. I fell awkwardly, unable to recover or protect myself, sliding into the goal post and then hit the boards at full speed. I knew immediately that something was wrong when I couldn't pick up my stick. The pain and shock then set in a few moments later.
  17. On some of the gloves I have with a locked thumb I take them to a leather repair guy that will cut the loops and add a small amount of material to lengthen the thumb about 1/2" which gives me all the mobility I need.
  18. There was quite a few stores with the technology at one time, but most of them stopped offering it or don't really support it anymore. It was mostly large hockey stores that had this setup. Smaller shops didnt have the space for the solution or it was too costly.
  19. Yes the top eyelet is slightly lower on the TRUE skate boot than the Vapor boot.
  20. If you request the skates to be drilled for Edge or XS holders they will do such and ship the SHIFT holders unmounted. I think all holders have pros/cons and recommend players use whatever works best for them.
