That was me. I have seen people using CCM XS tongues on TRUE and various CCM skates. I have not seen any Bauer skates with them yet.

Yes, that is a P92C. It is a custom curve I have been seeing more frequently that was originally made for Fyodor Polishchuk but seems to have caught in North America. It is similar to the P90T is that both are based on the P92 with a toe kink, but on this curve, the kink starts a little bit earlier. I am hoping that Bauer will bring it to retail.

Ive never heard of them shipped sharpened. Maybe the seller sharpened them or something.

I adore the P90TM. I also love the new Bauer P92C.

I imagine they use the old Blademaster or Blackstone balance finding hardware to find the balance point. Those devices need the boot in order to find the balance point. Id share pics but I can't find any for either of them. Blackstone stopped making their tool a long time ago. Not sure if Blademaster still does. @JR Boucicaut would likely know.

Sand will affect the weight balance, distribution, and maybe flex if it's filled to the top and capped since the sand would have nowhere to go. Thats also gotta be super heavy! Taping pucks to the bottom and using weights, is what I did as a kid, works in a pinch but it's not quite the same feeling. I think he is wanting a stick he can use during practice or dryland to keep the similar feel of his game stick without impacting flex and weight distribution which could result in him changing how he shoots with his game stick.

I think water would make it too heavy. One half gallon of water is about 1100 grams + the weight of the hockey stick, which is about 500 grams. That would weigh significantly more than the Gelstx which we about 1100 grams total. This is because the gel itself doesn't have the same density as water. I'm not sure what other material you should use but it needs to be a gel or foam so that the density ratio is lower, more volume/less weight, as compared to water. Maybe you could use some type of expanding foam like they use for insulation. However that might ruin the stick flex and feel. In the old days I would just tape an entire stick from bottom to top and that would add about 290 grams of weight and didn't seem to affect the flex. I would do this to the lower end composite sticks that already weigh about 650 grams.

I think the Ultrasonic skate is softer and allows more boot flex than the 2S Pro. Bauer never provided a stiffness index for the previous generations of skates so I cannot confirm this. As someone who has the Ultrasonic skates I cannot imagine wanting them to be stiffer, the current retail spec is already very rigid. I dont skate as much as you, but I do log at least 12-18 hours of ice time weekly. If you want a boot that's stiff like a ski boot, then consider the stiff option.

Pitch of the skate required me to mess with shims until I was able to determine the proper forward pitch. Had to add a 4mm shim to the right foot and a 3mm shim to the left foot. Adjusted my profile from a Zuperior to a Quad 2. Needed to stretch the right toes a little more. My little pinky toe was being smashed by the new toe cap width. Had to change my lacing pattern to outside-in at the bottom, and inside-out at the top.

I now have 12 sessions in on the new skates and the more I use them the more I find little things that need to be adjusted for them to "work" with my skating. As I am making these adjustments the more I am liking the skates. I still feel more stable on my TRUE skates as they feel better connected to the ice but the Ultrasonic skates are more comfortable with the oversized ankle pads, thicker clarino liners, and comfort pads.

I can see for a retail model it recommending EE vs D depending on how wide your foot is. I am a legitimate E width and in retail, it recommended EE skates but in full customs, they made them as an E.

Ive seen as fast as 5 days and as long as 28. I think it depends on your location and the stock for a specific steel size.

I thought you said you messaged them on Twitter or something. Maybe I am thinking of someone else. Who told you that info then?

Because what Bauer has told you and the individuals at Bauer I have spoken with have told me is conflicting. The people I spoke with specifically told me they are only using a standard Quad 0. I checked all of the Pulse steel we received from size 3-12 and the profile seems to be the same on them all, a Quad 0.

I am pretty sure Bauer is putting a Quad 0 on all of the steel, not altering the profile at all for the size.

I have TRUE custom skates and a pair of TF9 skates too. They fit very close to one another and since I dont have any major foot issues I wanted to see just how well the TF9 fit as compared to the custom. I actually think the TF9 has a little more comfort since it has thicker padding in it compared to my customs, or the padding in my customs has worn down and compressed over time. I need at least 2 pairs of skates since I am on the ice so often. For example, Sunday I played in 3 games! It was nice to be able to swap between skates since none of the games were back-to-back. My only issue is I use a 271/272 holder and the standard size 7.0 skate comes with a 263 holder. Not a huge deal though since I took off the Shift holder and put on an LS Edge holder since I need something that works with Flare steel.

The new Ultrasonic tendon is very similar in flexibility to a Mako.

According to our Bauer rep, they will continue to manufacture and distribute LS5 steel with the standard 10' radius until the next generation of Vapor skates are released. I dont know what the next generation of skates will come with.

Usually, they ship from the closest location. Weird it's not coming from another local store if they had such in stock.

Yeah, I was also confused when we got in the new 2020 Vapor and Supreme skates since it had this sticker on the box. I actually had to speak with multiple people at Bauer to get a confirmation since the sales reps had no idea. If I was ProSharp I think I would be a little bit annoyed that they didn't include more information or at least a link to a website for people to learn more.

Changing the tongue is the same as any other skate. You can easily do it yourself or any decent pro shop can do it. The Pulse steel is a Quad 0 without any pitch added.

I like to recommend players do some exercising before baking their skates, jumping jacks and such. Another option is they come to the store after doing dry land training or working out at the gym or similar. Peoples feet typically swell during exercise, on ice or off ice, so that's the best time to fit the skate to their foot.
