  1. Looks pretty damn sexy if you ask me.
  2. Nex time I'm out East I need to visit and get this done. I am VERY interested in it.
  3. I almost feel like the video on the page was a parody. Something Charlie from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia would record. 😉
  4. I still don't understand what it is though....
  5. What is Reddog Hockey Boost/Hockey Stability System?
  6. Upon release most dealers, myself included, won't even have them in stock. Which kinda sucks... I know we are going to be a lot of players asking to have these mounted. Also, I have been wondering how open-minded they are going to be about third-party companies making steel that fits the holder. I really would love to see some type of partnership with Flare. That would be a deadly combination.
  7. I'm glad you posted this, it was eating away at me wanting to say something. The last thing I wanted though was wrath from some of the TRUE staff 😉
  8. It looked nice but was heavy and not as easy to use or functional. Hence why pro teams (at all levels) never really embraced it. That being said I loved how rigid and stiff it is when compared to a flimsy Tuuk Edge holder.
  9. You can always give them a call too if you aren't getting timely email replies.
  10. There are so many cool things about the new holders..... It's honestly hard for me to contain myself.
  11. Very interesting article: https://www.donskovsc.com/easyblog/entry/the-eyelet-controversy-a-biomechanical-perspective?fbclid=IwAR3yIGT-d1u-8KRY8FLKE1coBXUtcPwCDuQSWhtbv86ynpYCxw-nWtlx4MY Snip: "Recently, there has been some fruitful dialogue by several close collogues regarding how best to lace up a pair of hockey skates for increased performance on the ice. The idea of leaving the first eyelet untied in hopes of producing greater speeds was reinforced in a December article titled “The NHL’s best young skaters all have something in common-how they tie their skates” in The Athletic. The purpose of this blog is to briefly outline the biomechanical considerations involved in this decision. Prior to moving forward, we must first define a hockey stride. "
  12. 12' is good for big open ice and for those players with powerful legs who like to glide/coast. I think the main thing I have noticed with a 12' is it takes a lot more energy and work to get those first 1-4 strides underneath you. After that it feels decently nice, but the lack of mobility and agility will make it hard to use the profile effectively on anything smaller than olympic ice.
  13. Yeah, this is how I feel on any single radius profile longer than an 11'
  14. What prices have you seen used units selling for that are in good condition? I found one for sale for 550 and was going to pick it up just to mess with but the warranty is expired on it. The unit works fine and looks like new but I was not sure how well they hold their value.
  15. I order from Amazon and its only a few bucks.
  16. Not very thermoformable at all unfortunately.
  17. For that price I would have CCM make me a new pair. Thats a lot of cash. As for your observation about not having weight on your feet when scanning. As someone who deals with a lot of custom skates I agree with you 100%. Without having weight bearing in the proper stance the scan will never be to the proper specification. This is why TRUE makes you do a "warrior pose" when you are scanned and then also is very specific about making sure nose, knees and toes are all aligned when baking. I have heard of players when being scanned putting the chair against the wall and pushing down on the glass with their feet to generate a weighted load. Not sure how effective this is though.
  18. More ergonomic and not as wide as it makes the skates look bulky and not streamlined. Ideally, I wish they would go back to have a composite toe cap as I really liked that look, though I know its not nearly as durably as the current materials being used.
  19. I wish they would streamline the toe cap a little. That's my only complaint currently with the TRUE skates.
  20. It's more than just a quick release holder.... I cannot comment on anything more though.
  21. One thing is for sure, anyone who ever complained about weight will surely have nothing to whine about anymore. Still not a justification to skip leg day though 😉
  22. ...and the super thin pro spec tongue 😉
  23. The new process is fantastic. Nothing but solid feedback from everyone regarding it. In fact, we now do this same process for ALL skates at our store.
