  1. These are 2015 CCM Jetspeeds in size junior 5.5 EE (whose current equivalent are size senior 6.0 EE JetSpeed FT1). My previous skates were Bauer Supreme 6000 in 6.0 D that I bought back in 2010. Before that, I had Micron Mega 10/90 in 6.0 D that I bought back in 1992... Ray Bourque was the face of Micron skates in ads back then. Fit --- 10/10 --- I baked these at home once and it took awhile for them to break in. I played in a league where we had one game a week so it took about three months before they felt good. The right foot felt fine but the left foot didn't feel good until three months later. I guess my left foot is a bit wider. Compared to the Bauer's, these felt great, especially when skating backwards; they didn't hurt my heel. They came with the CCM custom insoles which I put in. Now, I can wear these for a long time without any pain. Blade/Holder --- 10/10 --- The came with the polished SpeedBlades on 4.0 holders. I got the custom sharpened with 8' radius and 1/2" ROH at noicingsports. I came from using Step steel blades on my Bauer's. These had less steel at the toe and heel out of the box compared to the Bauer blades. I don't get any issues while skating in these. I used blue Loctite threadlocker on the nuts after I put the blades back on. Weight/Protection --- 10/10 --- These skates are the lightest I have ever skated in. Compared to the Bauer's, these are exponentially lighter. The old Bauer's had leather in the inside ankle area. These skates have all man-made materials, no real leather anywhere. Durability --- 9.5/10 --- I have only worn these through one whole (beer league) season as I have been sidelined with injuries. Intangibles As short as I've skated in these skates, one of the skate laces have been wearing down but I don't see any sharp edges near the eyelet that it goes through on the left skate, but the right skate lace is not worn down at all. Maybe there's something I don't see. The ankle padding is great and tongue padding is great. No pain with the laces tightened down. I like the top edge padding on the boot. I don't have to wear long socks anymore. With the Bauer's that had a leather top edge, it would wear into my skin. These are so light, I have no idea how the can make a more lighter skate boot unless they make the toe box out of carbon fiber. Conclusion 49.5/50 Not sure if I'll ever switch back to Bauer skates.
  2. Well that's true, it's not cheap. I'm just saying the options of goalie gear are wider than with player equipment. OP has run out of options and is bored. I'm just trying to help.
  3. Gear is just what's needed to play the game. But, if you have hit a true dead-end in player gear whoring... become a goaltender. That opens up an entirely new world of goalie gear whoring possibilities.
  4. So HP35CX-XTRA uses Ufoam and have zippers. What's the XTRA?
  5. Thanks. I can see that since I won't be able to squats or deadlifts or leg presses, my leg strength isn't going to where it used to be in the past. I'm trying to lose weight during my recovery, so I'm not skating around with as much flab and can get speed that way. I am up to jogging a mile in 10 minutes 43 seconds. That's slow, but an improvement compared to 4 weeks ago.
  6. Kind of strange that my doctor didn't suggest that I get physical therapy. He just said I could begin weight resistance training, but start light and listen to your body. I've had physical therapy in the past. So, I started with walking only. When it got to mid-January, I was able to do start fast walking and adding machine-based weight resistance training. Mid-March, I started mixing fast walking and jogging, continuing machine-based weight resistance exercises and I added body weight lifting: push ups, pull ups, lunges and box step-ups. It's mid-April and I've been doing the same things since mid-Match. End of March, I went ice skating to a public skate. That went well, and my balance, stopping, and turning was better than before I had surgery. Didn't go crazy and haven't played any hockey yet. I'm looking to play in October. I have another appt with my doctor and I'll ask him about it.
  7. What is the schedule for the SummerJam? What type of events go on? How much does it cost? Is there a general information page?
  8. Not a dick move, but I don't know why the ref would let a player dictate when the clock gets run out. The ref should have had the face-off with 6 seconds left and let the players on either team dictate how aggressive or not-aggressive they play after the face-off.
  9. Multiple rinks, multiple leagues. Ottawa, Ontario Hamilton, Ontario Toronto, Ontario Buffalo, NY Pittsburgh, PA
  10. There's a physical therapy business I've been to in the past: shoulder, leg, hip stuff. I'm like a repeat customer.
  11. The surgery was successful, i.e. I didn't die, and my feet and legs work. I do have a lot of pain at the surgical site.
  12. Thanks for responding. My lower back pain/sciatica symptoms are slowly getting worse. It started with tightness in glutes and hamstrings, chronic. Now, I get tingling down the right leg, and/or right foot. Sometimes I can jog a bit without any issues, like to cross the street faster because a car is coming, and sometimes, that short 5 step jog to the sidewalk is very painful. Sometimes, my right foot is dragging, when I start to walk, involuntarily. During one game, my right leg was also dragging while skating forward. I've had various surgeries and orthopedic surgeries, ACL reconstruction, shoulder labrum repair, hip arthroscopy. This would be my first spinal surgery. I'm a bit worried, but am also putting my faith in God to not worry. My mom has sciatica and had back surgery. Didn't increase the pain, but didn't decrease it, and laminectomy was performed. No fusion.
  13. Hi, yeah so my body is breaking down. I had hip arthroscopy earlier this year and I thought that was related to my back pain. After I recovered from my hip surgery, the back pain came back. I told my doctor about it at a check up and he said it was possible sciatica. I go to a neurologist, he orders an x-ray and MRI. I looked at the images and one of the vertebrae isn't aligned. 🤕 Lumbar region, L3 and L4. So that was causing nerves to get touched. I'm getting surgery soon. Anyone get this done and go back to hockey or did you just hang up the gloves?
  14. The Canadiens are having their game-used equipment sale tomorrow. Saturday, November 18, 2017 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM Bell Centre
