Finally got a few pics. Skates Shoulders and pants Shins, gloves, elbows. Not pictured- 2x AK-27 nipple grip with Mission Lang blades Montreal 8500 Ballistic Senior Light shaft with TPS Omega blade Waiting on Stealth S17 from toy drive Synergy SE from cougarscaptain
-
Their nomenclature is a little confusing. I get Stealth vs. Synergy, but I don't get SE, SC, S, ST, SY, etc for all of the lower sticks, all of the gloves and protective. Their names of things seems almost random and unorganized.
-
Those sticks are only in higher flex for senior, no Kovy for int. No love for the light flex senior outside the Dolo 75?
-
When did all of the other sticks get 5-skin? WTF is that anyway? Just another penis reference or an actual reinforcement? Royale and Starskie are gone? Or have they been for a while? I haven't really been following Warrior. I like how the Kronik has "Proprietary True-1 technology." I'm really glad they haven't phased out the Innovative and MIA names completely.
-
My LHS has a promo Olympic Synergy. Signed by the team above the register :)
-
IIRC, they're pro stocks. Nice look with the Flexlites. Don't see many tenders with cowled forward skates. Going for extra ankle support and more volume?
-
Carbon gussets for one... Great looking pair though. I have yet to see a pair of customs that didn't look good, though I question whether some members are color blind

If you donated a good number of toys to Easton before Christmas they'd send you an S17 in whatever curve and flex you wanted (to a certain extent I presume). Certain stipulations applied. The toys went to children in hospitals. The first 25 US and 25 Canadian people to participate also got the S9 helmet in their choice of NHL color. The deadline was Dec. 15th and they're starting to arrive all over the US now, no one in Can. has gotten anything as far as I know.

I just started using my 380 AK shaft (70? 65?), and my shot is 10x better than when I was using 95 sticks. I hadn't gone lower while trying to save money, buying cheap used stuff. The AK was my first brand new stick since I was a kid. I'll probably try and trade for an 85, or if Easton starts a 75 Senior flex (fingers crossed). Maybe if anyone has a 77flex P91 30/40 or One90 + cash, I do better with a 6 lie anyway. And every time a truck drives by "UPS!" jumps through my head. TBL- I don't think I'm getting a bucket. I know only ~150 people did the toy drive, but I didn't get my stuff shipped until after Thanksgiving. My 4000 just cracked behind the ear, too :(
-
I'm getting a little antsy for mine, now that I see Drurys are in the mail. I didn't know that they were offering anything below 100 flex, I'll just have to hang onto mine and try to trade if it's too stiff for me (most likely will be).
-
He posted them for the guy just above his post who couldn't get image linking to work. TBL didn't get one, though it makes him go into a green rage when he thinks how close he was to get one ;)

What lie are those Warriors? They look low as hell. Conversely, what are the Sydors? They look a lot higher. Are you using multiple lies for position or just haven't dialed in your preference?

2008 ShockDoctor Catalogue

Never thought about below the belt, but that looks like it puts them too wide in the front. My shins aren't symmetrical but they still exist on the inner side. Seems like only having contact on one side would allow it to twist on the leg easier. Would make more sense in my mind to have the pad running down both sides and leave the center more open and get further from the bone (though I suppose I'm not in gear design). I like how they have pad filling the small dip below the cap though. Havok, I think you're right. Won't work for people with shorter upper arms, but solves the whole elbow pad falling down problem. -

$200 is a big jump for a new unproven piece of equipment with no foot in the door. Like said in the tradeshow thread, I'd love to try it out but not at that price, golly. Doubt they make it in "big bastard" size anyhow. Why didn't they try to get the jersey worked in too :P or maybe gloves a la little kid mittens. They had a market for their compression jock and flex cup, but that was only $20. Their bag was also a pretty good idea, seeing as how a lot of people could use the space saving feature to not spread their gear out and still get it dried out. The shinguard liner looks odd. Why is the shin area non-symmetrical? Pants have no suspender grommets. -
Michigan government just had a monkey wrench tossed into the system, everything was shutting down for the cease of operations that never came. If the plates take more than two weeks, then you go to the Sec.ofState and choke a bitch. You should have a temp registration from the dealer after having title transfer. Temp reg + ID + proof of purchase and insurance = no hassle last time I checked. There might be something more else going on that you're not conveying. Is the 300 blacked out (window tint) on big rims or have some other mod making it look more "balla"? Novi cops are dicks though, my dad got pulled over for doing 47 in a 45 and my mom got pulled over for "excessive acceleration" from a stop light.

Or you could not be a drain on the American legal system. I am not a fan of anything Chrysler is making. They way JEEP is going, the ridiculous 100,000 mile warranty, the horrible Dodge cars, everything sucks. I might be buying a new lease in a year or two. I'm getting damned tired of driving older cars. BMW 330xi is high on the list, but we'll see how much money I have when the time comes.

I used my LHS for skate fitting then bought online, but the savings was more than $100 for me. I still give them lots of business with a $7 first sharpen, $20 baking, $8 holder realignment, $20 profiling, and probably half a dozen $4 sharpenings. Bought my shins and shoulders online as my LHS didn't carry Jofa/RBK until recently and they're the only ones that fit me properly. Bought some used sticks/shafts here, a closeout Intrigue from the Giant, my bag is a cheap $15 SMU from the Monkey, jerseys from GSBB. Unless it's a big savings closeout, I plan to spend the rest of my cash locally or on used. I might be getting new skates around Thanksgiving, but I'm going to spend time and really get a good fit this time. Tried to get some $45 9KN gloves from the Giant, but I was too late. I've never ordered tape, blades or anything small online. If you save $1-10, the $8 shipping and the week of wait evens it out. As for the idea of charging more for skates you didn't sell- How do you know they didn't buy from another store that was running a sale, or bought them only to hear your services are so much better. Charging $50 for a bake that takes 10 minutes of your time (bake, put their feet in, tell them to sit while you go work) is ridiculous. Maybe a one90/S15/1300c or some other skate that you have to spend time heat forming to encourage sales of those skates, but not a general baking. Charging more for sharpening higher skates is also stupid. If the XXXX steel is the same as the XII, why would you charge more? If anything do a skate by skate setup fee. Make a sign for it, too, so you're not just arbitrarily charging someone more. Say a new one90 will cost $60 for a complete setup, include bake, heat mold, and 2 sharpenings or something. Encourage package deals. If you buy a set of skates over $300, $10 more gets you 5 or 10 sharpenings along with the initial setup bake/sharp. $15 more for skates $200-300 gets you 10 and $20 more for skates up to $200 gets you 15. Throw in extra laces, a roll of tape or something if they buy a new skate sharpening package.

My Volvo XC70 is a beast in the snow, paid 8k for an '01 this last January. I plowed through powder that a 4wd Blazer got caught in and the interior is going to be leagues better than anything Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep put out. I was running Pirelli Scorpion STR's (SUV highway tires) and the Blazer had stock all-seasons. Definitely worth checking out.
