  1. Unless of course you agree with Vapor.
  2. Sorry, I had to work. We had a couple of reps come in and I had to get some demo skates. I will try to do it when I get some extra time.
  3. The Legend stuff is BEAUTIFUL. The elbow pads fit great, are light, yet still offer good protection. The shoulders are a little bit thick for my taste (I wear some 1980s Coopers, they're paper thin) but I think they'll soften up with a washing or two as well as some use. The gloves... oh, the gloves! Pigskin, thin leather palm (I think they're supposed to come with a 2nd palm, like the Vapor XXX), split fingers, leather gussets, lace in the cuff, plastic inserts... extremely comfortable right out of the bag, and should be reasonably priced. I have yet to see the pants, but my brother (prenny207, a DR rep) said they're very nice, look like they're from the 1970s, but are quite protective. I'll probably end up wearing the whole series. I thought the pants were a little on the thin side. Then again, I don't like bruises. I will have the elbows, as my 8025s are about dead.
  4. I have brought this up several times in the past but it sounds like the Koho K Core technology is coming back. I still have about 6 of these and they are so bloody light its sick. As you describe it has a foam core and a great blade that just wont give in. 7 years ago it was 80 bucks for a wood stick which is why it never did anything. I think these will be around $50
  5. The one on display was maroon with gold logos if I remember correctly.
  6. When we sold out their synths a few years ago, it took four days before they mailed it and were pretty nasty on the phone. But they did ship it, and I did get it.
  7. They probably bought out the Vegas booth again.
  8. Hopefully thay aren't assholes like when we sold them out of synths. Nothing like bitching at customers.
  9. Still listed as Jofa. Koho goal, wood sticks and jofa helmets and 9025 elbows.
  10. Into: Our rep was trying to convince us to pick up the Christian OPS and since they also had tapered blades it was an easy way to gauge the feel. They're also a bit cheaper than other tapered blades so I figured it was worth a look. Stiffness: When new it was impossible for me to bend it with my bare hands, something I try on all new blades. Weight/Balance: Weight is about the same as most other composite tapered blades, maybe a hair heavier due to it having a slightly longer hosel and the blade being a hair thicker than some others. Stickhandling/Passes: Catching passes and puck feel is excellent with this blade. One of the best feeling composite blades I have ever used. Shooting: I don't know what it is but something just feels off with this blade. I don't know how else to say it. Shots are good and hard but it feels a little "off" to me. Durability: This thing is a tank. I had been going through tapered blades like water but this held up for almost two months so far and shows no indications of breaking soon. Conclusion: Great blade, I suggest everyone try it. They have 4 or 5 curves and more are on the way according to my rep. The durability and puck feel make this a fantastic blade and we have had good response so far on the OPS. These blades have since been discontinued and replaced with blades of new construction.
  11. L7 and S500 both have a suggested retail price of $429
  12. 5'ish lie? Seemed like it. We didn't spend much time on the sticks and the lie looked 5-ish when I grabbed the Hex.
  13. I saw the line today and liked most of it. The Ribeiro is a heel as far as I can tell. It looks just about perfect to me.
  14. I backlace mine and never have problems. I've shown some people how to do it and they usually complain that the skates are too tight the first time. they aren't used to having the laces stay tight.
  15. I may stock up on the closeout 690s, they've been popular here.
  16. Somehow I had a feeling you would be able to swap out the subshell. I'm surprised that it is a custom option instead of a value-add or an in-store upsell item.
  17. Justin, if you happen to have an L2 blade in the office, bill the shop and send it to me. I'd be happy to put the matter to rest. B)
  18. At some point in the spring, I doubt before late March.
  19. If the skate fits properly, you shouldn't need it.
  20. It's better than having a product inserted by the manufacturer if you know what I mean.
  21. Fantastic, the M1 shin and elbows have been very popular here.
