  1. The entire reason I got the Mako's was because I was in MLX to begin with. You also now have the VH skate developed by Scott. They overdid the orange, but I don't mind it. Gives it a certain pop.
  2. It's because people don't want to change from what they know and I understand that. That's usually the one factor that keeps new products from catching on. That, and Easton doesn't exactly has a great reputation for skates.
  3. I tried it once, threw on my old S15's for a stick n puck. My feet felt like they were swimming in the boot.
  4. Nice blades Cavs. I bet they'd go well with the two shafts I just picked up.
  5. Two black V9E pro stocks, V9E retail, V9E painted as a V9 pro stock. Great sticks. The white V9E has a nice P10 curve on it, and no stupid E logo at the front of the blade.
  6. Yeah, the aesthetics are my only real complaint. I'm still waiting for the V9E with white graphics I bought to show up. Excited for that one.
  7. I've never had that issue. I'd roll out the top of the skate with a heatgun, that seems to solve the problem for most people. This question also could've been put in here, I don't think it needs its own thread. http://www.modsquadhockey.com/forums/index.php/topic/61887-easton-mako-skates/page-47
  8. Jesus. Who were you playing against? Zdeno Chara?
  9. Got these in the mail today.
  10. Based on that, I'd try a 10.5 and an 11.
  11. Most likely random. If you're not baking the skates, you're losing out on the entire point of the skates.
  12. Oversized tower? Looks a little not flush with the front.
  13. You won't know the fit of the Mako's until you bake them. A minor 3 minute bake isn't going to hurt anything or anyone.
  14. Bake them and find out. Hopefully you'll be surprised.
  15. I wouldn't release a Mako skate line. I do not see a reasonable way to lower the tech quality without losing the benefits of what makes the Mako skate what it is.
  16. So a bunch of people have been asking to see the stick collection, and I finally got around to taking a picture of it. Left to right: V9E, RS2 (SE16's) x2, '05 Stealth x3, T-Flex x5, SiCore Grip, Synergy Gold x2, SiCore x3, Dolomite x4, Dolomite Spyne. A bunch of prostocks thrown in there. Pretty decent, if I do say so myself.
  17. All black. Looks soooo much better than the retail. I got lucky that the EQM for the Tips had extras.
  18. Got me a V9E.
  19. Ditto. Roughly 5 times a week between reffing and playing.
  20. I wouldn't worry about it much. Worst case is you slip the extra footbed in during your skate and then rebake later.
  21. Fit is different, the Mako has a different concept of fit. Zero negative space, your entire foot is wrapped in the boot. Best way to describe it is like wearing a snug running shoe.
  22. Everyone's different. Like Ininew, I'm a straight 8 across my recent Easton skates. S15, S17, Mako. Gotta try them on to know for sure.
  23. I'd say length wise theyre similar but don't expect them to be similar in any way beyond that.
  24. SE16's painted as RS2's. Got a nice curve on it. Square blade, somewhat closed heel. Pretty close to a retail Heatley. Taller blade than I'd like, but beggars can't be choosers.
