Haha, well played. Glad they're working out now though.

Obviously the "Venting Spot" has been very popular and it makes sense since it seems like there is always bad things happening to everyone, me included. I thought it would be good to have a place for people to post up good things that have happened to them lately. I'll get it started: Apparently the IRS will fix your return for you if you mess up even if it means that you get more money. My tax return went up $600 because of some error on my part. That is awesome. I figured that the government would just keep it, especially since they really need it now.

Never realized that Avery ever switched out of his Eagles.

I believe that it's a one95 (my dad and bro both have one).

I wouldn't say that the X:60's have a durability problem based on one guy who damaged his skates during the normal use of them in a game situation. I'd wait for a few more cases before slandering them as not being tough or having issues.

AVOID the Toe rag. Nothing but problems. That being said, I really like the truck and wish it was more reliable. If you are not really a car nut, then the Civic is the way to go. If you are a car nut the Civic Si is an awesome little car. Be careful though, the latest model requires premium gas.

Un-Written Rules of Hockey
Hockeyman11385 replied to DoublinUp's topic in General Hockey Discussions
I think showing up to stick time with full gear is definitely over the top. I can see wearing the bottom half since there is a huge difference skating with pads on versus just sweats. The rink definitely needs to enforce the rules because you are right, there is going to be a disaster down the road. On a slightly different topic, the rink near my house recently had two different stick times during springs vacation for the school kids. One was for up to 12 years old (and parents) and another for 13 and up. I think that this is a good way to avoid disasters with older guys and young kids. Obviously this depends on having the ice time available to do this. -
Un-Written Rules of Hockey

I would have been less annoyed if it was a highly competitive game with teams that knew each other extremely well with highly skilled players. Instead it was in a fun pick up game between some guys that really can't play all that well but are giving it their all and having fun (the only reason I play). The guy doing it was one of the top 3-4 skaters. He probably could have gotten the puck with a little effort but instead decided to be a dumbass and employ that move. I really like the comparison the A-rod play. While not against the rules (I think), you better be ducking the next time you're in the batter's box. -
Un-Written Rules of Hockey

One thing that is really annoying is when you have someone on the opposite team who decides tapping his stick when the other team has the puck is a good defensive play. The whole group knows each other fairly well but not well enough to be instantaneous with the first names or some other nickname. While obviously not against the rules, I think it's a bush-league play to try to do in a pick up game. It's not just once or twice either, it's every time he's on the ice. Drives me up the wall. -
That Kozlov curve is absolutely hideous (in the nicest possible meaning of the word). I just can't imagine playing with something like that. To EdgeKid3: You don't really have to be tall to have lie 7. He might use a short stick and like to stick handle and shoot close to his feet.

His period button must be broken.

See I would have gone for a 1.5" cut... Crossgrind... ...and a little packing tape just to make sure. -
If I'm reading this correctly it sounds like it doesn't matter, he's getting the X:60's no matter what. Basically he choosing which skate looks better to him.

No problem. The only tip I have is to make sure that you have the right tools. Trying to do it without will be an exercise in frustration. What kind of skates are you going to be working with? -

+1 Once you get the hang of switching out runners it takes no time at all. You could easily do it between periods if you had to (during the Zamboni time). -

Not backchecking makes everything better. -
Hey CTHockey: How much for the Black/Red Warrior's? Thanks.

I see someone has been to Kevin Smith's in Vermont. Didn't realize that they were selling the UVM 9500's.

I've been on the 100/75 for about a month or two now and I've noticed the same thing that TBLfan has, that the glide fades after a while. I was wondering if anyone could clarify why that happens. Thanks in advance. -
I'm not so sure about the Z06 being faster than a GT-R. The GT-R is faster to 60 and is quicker in Motor Trend's figure 8 test (24.1 s). The ZR1 is 0.4 sec faster (23.7) and the Z06 0.3 sec slower (24.4). For a larger scale, the GT-R lapped the Nurburgring in 7:29, while the Z06 did a 7:56 (both with factory drivers). The ZR1 did a 7:22. The 480 hp rating has something to do with a power limit in Japan. There were/are laws limiting the amount of HP a car has and all cars are limited to a top speed of 112 mph.
-
The ZR1 is one of the few supercars I haven't driven but the reason the ZR1 is louder is the rear tires are massive. It needs the huge tires in the back for traction but one of the side effects is a lot of road noise. I have driven many more rear drive cars that feel much more stable than the GT-R, although not many more that are faster in a straight line. The 480 HP rating is a joke.
-
One went by me and my dad heading in the other direction a few months ago...we later realized we both watched it for 30 seconds and neither of us was watching the road The GT-R is a great car for the money. Insanely fast but the ride is a little choppy, which can be a little scary when going quickly on back roads.

Yeah, there's definitely no upcharge now for the entire cuff. (Fletch, those gloves are awesome by the way.)
-
Looks like Warrior liked JR's gloves because now you can get "Warrior" all the way across the cuff roll, eliminating the stripes on the cuff.
