  1. The Silver Shield is an antimicrobial lining to help cut down on the bacteria the cause your gloves to smell. If you go through the Warrior Glove Customizer, they describe it after you select the colors. I don't think it's actually silver though, I think it's the bright green/yellow that you see inside pro gloves.
  2. Just got back from skating for the first time with the FBV and there is definitely an increase glide with the same amount of bite on turns (was using 1/2" before and have a 100/75 with the FBV). It is really nice. Can't really comment on the speed because I was the only one on the ice for stick and puck. I'm playing with a pretty high level group later tonight so I'll be able to compare my speed then. Overall I'm very happy.
  3. Why is the picture mirrored? Interesting idea though.
  4. I think that is the whole point of the flat bottom, to not make a sound. The sound you hear is the edges digging into the ice with the traditional hollow but with the flat bottom the edges don't dig in. I don't think that you would hear a sound if you heard somebody skating by with a traditional ROH of 2".
  5. Finally got around to taking a picture of my gear after a couple new additions from the holidays.
  6. SAK, Is there anybody in Vermont using the FBV? Thanks for your help. This looks like an exciting new technology. Thanks, Alex
  7. Very, very nice. Was thinking about getting a pair like that myself. Don't know if I could tolerate the 9 week wait though. Congrats.
  8. I've had mine for a couple of weeks. It's awesome. Feels softer than the one90 when cut at the same flex.
  9. I assume its from Kevin Smiths, since thats the only place in burlington that sells hockey equipment other than dicks, did they have any one95's in the 100$ without warranty? Also, do you remeber if they had a good selection in the 100$ non warranty section, I'm think of going down there soon. Nothing in the non-warranty for one95's because their entire stock has the warranty stickers. I didn't really get a good look at the 100 section. Nothing really jumped out to me. They definitely have a good stock of the one95's though. Just because there is a warranty sticker does not mean it is honored by the factory. If they are claiming as such, I'd get it in writing just in case. Kevin Smith's will back it up. I have done a lot of business with them and have a very good relationship. I trust what they say about that sort of thing. I also believe that they would give me another stick if Bauer backed out. They are good people.

  11. No, there's a LHS selling UVM's overstocks. They are actually on sale right now for $180 with a warranty.
  12. Helmet: Bauer 4000 w/ Oakley Pro Straight Gloves: Warrior Super MacDaddy Midnight Edition Skates: Bauer one95 Sticks: Rbk 7k Sickick, Easton S15 w/ AK27, Bauer one90, Bauer one95 Proof: http://www.modsquadhockey.com/forums/index...st&p=612585
  13. Oh yes, look what I found.
  14. I just ordered an S15. I'm curious to how it compares to my really old z bubble.
  15. UPDATE: NikeBauer one95 skates... I can see what all of the fuss is about. These are much better than my XXV's. I feel much more centered on my blades versus feeling on the inside edges of my XXV's.
  16. 1999 Saab 9-5 Wagon (mine) 2002 Saab 9-5 Aero Sedan (Dad's) 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT (Mom's) 2005 Porsche 911 (997) Carrera S (the toy)
  17. From top to bottom... Helmet: NBH 4500 w/ Oakley Pro Straight Clear no vents, (classic and comfortable) Shoulders: CCM SP600 (had them since squirts, can't stand bulky shoulder pads, may get the Farrells) Elbows: Jofa 8044 (comfortable with great protection) Gloves: Warrior Super Mac Daddy Midnight Special Edition (very flexible but the palms are a little thick) Pants: Bauer one90 Girdle w/ NBH shell (comfortable, could never go back to "regular" pants) Shins: Rbk 6K (no "tabs" on the top to interfere with the girdles) Skates: NBH XXV (didn't really see the reason to spend an extra $200 for the XXXX's, LHS dealer agreed) Sticks: Warrior AK27 85 (great shaft, light) w/ AK27 Kovalev (very light, gotta have the heel curve, not terribly durable), Easton Stealth CNT Grip 100 Forsberg (hate it, not a Forsburg guy, lie is too low for me, gift from parents), Easton Synergy Sakic 100 (the original and still holding up strong, don't use it much though), Rbk 7K Sickick Pro Stock 85 D-19 (in the mail from the Monkey, heard great things about the Sickick)
