  1. Didnt file the claim properly? Or didnt get insurance to properly cover the child in the first place?
  2. haha, thanks it was either between a husky or nova scotia duck tolling retriever (search it up! :P ) but there was a 6month old husky (looks like mine with a cuter puppy face but w/ blue eyes) at the local humane society but she had a genetic defect that makes her back knee's unable to lock up, surgery would have cost $2000+ without the rehab money, we just couldn't afford it, so kinda guilty conscience we went and bought a husky It is costing us probably in the ballpark of $2500 for the whole thing. The initial tumor removal and biopsy, the tests and xrays, and the eventual surgery and examination of the removed tissue and bone. They will be removing a large part of her lower left jaw. That doesnt include radiation if they dont get all the cancer. We arent doing all that well financially the moment (we will be in a very good position starting in about a year)....but $2500 is peanuts when it comes to saving the life of my Stella. I would lay out 10 grand in a heartbeat. .......but why do I fight my gearwhore desires and deny myself more than one of each piece of equipment? The bills for our aussie were about $10k and I would throw in another $10k just to have her a little while longer. I feel ya man. When we brought home our first child from the hospital, we were worried about how Stella would react. We said from the beginning....if Stella has a problem with our infant daughter, then she is going to have to go.....and I meant our daughter would have to go. This whole thing has really made me acutely aware of her mortality, and it sucks.

  4. Thanks for all the well wishes guys. I know it is only an internet forum, but it means a lot to me.
  5. The surgery is scheduled for next thursday. Please send positive thoughts her way. This is Stella
  6. We have a few jews on our team. They sometimes are on the same lines and they name themselves. Sometimes they are the "Wandering Jews" line....sometimes they are "The Chosen Line". I get a kick out of it.
  7. Job??? What in the world for? And thanks for the Good Luck wishes. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Job_%28Bible%29 Ahhh...A biblical reference....thats why I didnt know. And I didnt even add in that my house value has gone down 140K? :(

  9. It has been a tough year health wise I have been diagnosed with frayed labrums and bursitis in both shoulders, had MRSA in my leg, tore tendons in my wrist, and now have been told I have a hialtal hernia. My 6 month old has had a cough for 10 weeks, and the albuteral and steriods arent working....now they are going to test her for Cystic Fibrosis. And this week, my dog Stella has been diagnosed with Squeema Cell Carcinoma Cancer.
  10. I think if it is set up for curling exclusively maybe.... but we had curling circles? painted on one of the rinks for a while too. They had a curling tournament a while back.
  11. I dont think he is saying that is what he was thinking at the time, only that it is a picture just before he went end to end.
  12. No, the toecaps are not altered. The skates themselves are customs, and the outsides starting from the toecap back are built-up with another layer. It just makes the skate very wide...and even more so in this picture. Also, when you flex forward, the sides of the skate flext out at the toecap as well. Not sure why my hand is just capping the stick...I dont remember doing it. I think this one was taken during warm-ups.
  13. what sucks is that David Booth is one of the most genuinely nice hockey players in the game
  14. What about whaler jerseys? Ive seen a few at Pens games. But I agree with you So people can only be fans of the two teams playing and not of the sport of hockey as a whole? I've been to a lot of games when my favorite team wasn't playing because I love the sport. Yea, I have no problem with it. When I went to the Wings/Capitals game a couple weeks ago and there was a couple next to us who was in town and decided to go to the game, they knew nothing about the Wings or Caps but jumped out of his seat and cheered when the wings scored! I've been to many a game that didn't involve my two fave teams (Pens/Thrash), but I didn't wear a Thrashers or Penguins jersey to those games. I have a problem with ppl who come to games and wear a jersey (whalers/nords/jets okay by me) who's team is not playing the game. You seriously have a problem with people who wear jerseys that arent of the two teams playing? wow. ok.
  15. There was no physical contact pretty much the whole game....a little chippiness with stickes, etc...that was it....but playing keepaway was what incited the physical reaction.
  16. Hold on to a 4 goal lead...4 goals?....with 3 minutes left?....and on a power play? Sorry...I dont buy it. If they were trying to spare our feelings, why not just dump it in? Playing keepaway by its very nature is going to frustrate the other team.
  17. The game was close up until the 3rd period (4-2 I think), and their skill level wasnt drastically better. A few bad mistakes (2 of our 4 D-men were out and we had 2 forwards playing d) in our zone and in a matter of 5 minutes it was 7-2. Plus it was getting chippy in the 3rd, so I really doubt the keep-away was altruistic.
  18. What is the boards opinion of this situation: We were losing 7-2 in a 40+ league game with 3 minutes left. The other team then started playing keep away with the puck. As they moved into our zone, they would then turn around and pass it back into their zone and continue playing keep away. This was even during their power play. They even had a break away, and the guy veered away at the last minute and skated back out of the zone and passes back into their zone for some more keep away. Is this against the un-written rules? Is this douch-baggery? How would you react? I will tell you how I reacted....but i wanted to hear from others first.
  19. You can cut the cord yourself by moving out. If you are being given a roof over your head, food, heat/AC, a bead to sleep in, medical insurance, etc.....then you might have to deal with a curfew. I think that for all you are getting, especially in these tough times, a curfew is well worth it. Its tough out there bro. Freedom has its price.... Haha I knew someone would say that. I'm moving out next year for college, so that's why having a curfew sucks because its my last year here. But oh well Ahhhh....the first year away from home at college....good times....good times. Enjoy!

  21. I would have made him go no-jersey. At least his undershirt or pads would have made him more distinguishable from your black.
