Thanks man. I have another friend who uses Edge with Step black on them so my buddy wants that same setup... have you ever used step black on the edge holders and had any issues?
-
Does anyone know if the True/VH holder and the LS Edge holder have the same hole patterns? A buddy of mine wants to get Edge holders and asked me this question but I wasn't sure. He is also wondering if the True heel piece will have to be removed for the Edge holders and if that will be easy for a LHS to do... not sure of that answer either. Any help would be great :)

Thanks man. They were used a couple times but in very good shape, I lucked out. I love traditional 4-roll gloves so I should be set for a while.

Christmas glove haul: TML pro stock True WSH pro stock True DET pro stock True Some custom Maine color Franchises I got off SidelineSwap

Have you even seen me play? Haha

Man those black LS look awesome. I am tempted to get those on my Trues but I always felt that black holders make choppy skaters (like moi) look worse so I have stayed away from them since the Bauer Comp days.
-
Anyone order these through the Kickstarter campaign that Per started? Gotta admit, the thought of these on my True skates is exciting to me.
-
I’d say that the classic tongue is longer and thicker than a stock One95 tongue but not as thick as the old Bauer 4000/Bauer Comp felt tongue.
-
Here’s a photo of the method I use for this, in case anyone is interested. The tape adds just enough thickness to make things a little more snug while still maintaining some adhesive properties in place of the glue that it’s covering.

I have the same issue with True and Warrior blades, about them being loose in the shaft. Just get two strips of tape and vertically wrap them on the piece with the glue, one on top of the other, then heat it up that way and insert it. Works like a charm.
-
I had the exact same thing happen to me with two of their blades in the 6.0 shaft, unfortunately. Definitely contact their warranty department about it, they were able to help me out. Also, there are a couple True reps here on this board - if you need anymore info from me, shoot me a PM.
-
I agree, resin could fix the issue pretty well but I agree with his point too that it’s a little disappointing that it happens at two skates in.

Is it deep enough to stick your finger into? And is it soft or is it hard? It’s hard to tell how deep it is from the pics. /innuendo

I am still trying to figure out how to get a non-profiled pair of StepSteel Black for the Step/VH holder. Probably overkill at this point since my current Step runners are brand new but it would be cool to use the black now and use the stock ones as backups.

I've gotten quite a few compliments on mine and mine are pretty standard looking... I think they look great.
-
First skate was a pretty fast private pickup and I scored 7 goals... give me lack of R&D and speed skating tech from now on, please ;)

Skating for the third time tonight on my Trues, I will write up some thoughts eventually... lol. Overall I really like them so far.
-
That's nice and convenient for you, haha. Is the showroom nice?
-
Not positive, but it looks like your tongue without the accents may be the type of tongue that is designated to have the embroidered number on it. I’m going off of how my tongues look but I could be wrong.
-
At Ultimate Skate, they heated them for 8 minutes, IIRC... I didn’t notice the instructions until I left the rink, lol. They were still really hot when I put them on so I don’t think it was a problem.
-
Spotted a linesman using the skates with the Step holder, looks like he tried to (had to?) black out the outside silver panel.
-
I’ve got some glue showing (to be expected from something handmade IMO, so no big deal to me) but no bubbling...
-
Thanks man :)

Got my skates today, going to skate with them later tonight so I will post some thoughts on that later. Initial thoughts from seeing them/getting them baked, etc. The fit - Wow. They really do feel like a "comfy shoe" when you put them on. They feel NOTHING like a traditional skate boot. This is a true wrap around your foot, different from anything I have ever tried. I have had 3(!) reconstructive foot surgeries due to genetically collapsed arches and also Haglund's deformity. Needless to say, I have been a prime candidate for custom skates for years so finally getting them is nice. The presentation by True is pretty impressive - it has a very Apple-like feel to it once you open the box up, with magnets in the flaps and a new car smell. Very nicely done and I know it's just a box but when you drop this kind of money on something, it's nice to see the extra effort put in. I somehow ended up with VH/Step holders instead of True branded ones, not sure if that was intentional or not but it's not a big deal to me. Here are some pics I took, can't wait to hit the ice tonight :)

Found this pic of me circa 1993-94. God, I loved those Mega Air 90 skates, they were awesome. My two-tone Cooper SK2000 and mullet went together quite nicely too, I must say :)
