  1. Just picked these up off eBay... Elmira College returns. Couldn't resist because they will look amazing with my tournament team colors (retro LAK)
  2. Exactly... happened to me last year when I went, the people in line ahead of me were almost certainly all collectors and of course they bought up the gear that was used the least and still able to be used on the ice. I did end up with pro stock socks and CCM Iginla gloves though.
  3. I bought them from this seller on sidelineswap, nice guy to deal with! https://sidelineswap.com/gear/hockey/gloves/360473-ccm-new-tavares-hg55-all-black-silky-palms
  4. Those are badass... if you ever want to sell them, let me know ;)
  5. Nice, yeah there a few sets out there right now... gonna try them out tonight for the first time :)
  6. LFOD78 - they are 14" - fingers seem to be a bit tapered too... never seen that before but I like it a lot, it's a really snug/anatomical fit.
  7. Brand new Tavares pro stocks. Amazing palms on these ones, really soft.
  8. Always fun to send the goaltender breakdancing, haha.
  9. Thanks! He's gonna come out again in a few weeks hopefully and next time I will wear a better jersey ;)
  10. Did you choose to use VH tongues or did they just happen to ship them to you that way?
  11. My buddy was nice enough to get some pics of me at a private pickup last week. Not bad for his first time shooting hockey!
  12. From PSH, these are 13” and came from the Avalanche. Nice fit, I like them so far.
  13. Nice... that is one thick shim!
  14. Yeah in the meantime I think I will go to 5/8 or 9/16 on my Step Black while I wait. I can’t even send the steel to them until late next week so I’ll have a little time there.
  15. I have been speaking via email with Bob at No Icing Sports - based on the questionnaire that they sent me, he recommended an FBV 92/95 and 8/12' combination radius. I ordered some LS3 steel from PSH for $40, so I am gonna send that to them to try out before I make the decision to sending them my Step Black.
  16. Yep, I am in Costa Mesa :) I pretty much only use USH for sharpening. James and Kevin are my go-to guys there... I don't trust sharpening from Pure or Monkey, which sucks because Monkey is about a mile from my work.
  17. Sounds good. Based on the info you guys provided, I think I will go with a 1 to start with and see how it goes. Thanks again, guys. I will post an update when I get it done.
  18. Thanks again for helping me with this, guys - I would buy you each a beer if I could :)
  19. I am 6'1, 200 and 42 years old. Speed is ok but could be better and first few steps/acceleration could be much better. I feel like I have to work hard for every stride but that could also be age, haha. Turns could definitely be tighter, I always feel like my turns are fairly wide.
  20. Sorry, I am completely dumb when it comes to this stuff - what do you mean exactly?
  21. Nice, thanks for the link. Ultimately I think I will buy some Bauer LS3 steel to get the profiling done, and if I like it I will send them my illegal BlackSteel to do the same way, heh.
  22. Sounds good - maybe some others can chime in to see if they also think that sounds like the best option :) I also need to find a place that does this kind of work - so far I have struck out with my local Pure Hockey and Hockey Monkey stores.
  23. Step BlackSteel sharpened at 1/2" and that's it...
  24. Can anyone help me with this? Basically, I have been playing for a long time now (28 years) but I have never messed with profiling, radiuses, etc. I just always get my skates sharpened at 1/2 inch but I want to try quad zero at Zac911's (True rep) suggestion. I am currently skating on a True boot with LS Edge/Step BlackSteel with a small shim to pitch me forward a bit. Just wondering what the best option for me would be as far as a quad profile goes. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
  25. Great info, thanks for posting that!
