Is that Perry prototype R8 made with XN10? If so, how do you like it? I was able to score an R8 XN10 tapered shaft on ebay plus a few R9's w/XN10. The ice is out for a couple more months, I'm dying to know how they are.

That one would be great on a warm up mix.

I didn't think that he looked bad in the game againts the Pens. Seems like Eriksson is having a pretty good season in Leksand. I wonder if they may try to bring him to North America at some point. I'm guessing he'd probably need some seasoning/time to adjust .

The performance would have to be amazing for me to use that Graf stick. I'd candy-cane it too, just to make the graphics "go away". It looks like they were trying to market the stick to people who'd like the louder Warrior stuff. The comparison a few posts ago to the Loc-Jaw blade was great.

I'm going to qualify this first by saying that I'm a Flyers fan. I'll try to be unbiased. This was a tough one to call. Gaborik dropped the gloves first. Then again, Carcillo had him around the head/neck and pretty much dragged him around the net this way. You can only take so much before you have to defend yourself or expect the other guy to start hitting you. I think it would have been entirely justified for another Ranger to come in and engage Carcillo at this point. I can't say for sure if Gaborik and/or Carcillo knew exactly who was on the other end of things, either. Carcillo came in and grabbed Gaborik out of a scrum. I suspect that Carcillo knew and was trying to start with Gaborik or at least rough him up a bit. Gaborik may have been so pissed by then that he didn't know who the hell had been dragging him around (although I'd think that the goofy 'stache would have been a giveaway). Carcillo getting Gaborik off the ice for a matching major was a good trade for the Flyers, and in a sense a good hockey play. I also don't expect guys to sit there and take it when someone else is punching them, even if it is a guy like Gaborik. He probably felt like he had to drop 'em, or Carcillo would have started on him. In general, I think that guys like Carcillo should stick to fighting other tougher/dirtier players. If Carcillo had simply started swinging at Gaborik, that would have been completely uncalled for. In that situation, I would have (even as a Flyers fan) understood it another Ranger came in on that fight. With what went on, I think it was pretty gray - I can see why the Rangers were pissed, but also see why the Flyers could feel that what happened was justified. I think Avery is a total idiot (same with Carcillo), but I think he did the right thing going back after Carcillo later in the game.

Me too... I hope that it doesn't take him too long to get his game back. Leighton still scares me.

Their goaltending has been scary, especially since Emery got hurt. I think that the team has played well in front of Leighton, for the most part. IMO, It has made him look better than he is. The worst team in the NHL put him on waivers before Philly picked him up. I don't have confidence that getting Emery back will fix everything. Anybody know if Riopel or Backlund are "ready" or good enough to give a shot, at this point?

Sometimes you can't avoid a fight. Carcillo was not going to let him go. I thought Bradley was trying to skate away from it. I think he dropped the gloves because he had to. Carcillo kept goading him, hitting/cross-checking him. Sooner or later you realize that the prick isn't going to stop and you have to defend yourself. I'm a Flyers fan (but not a Carcillo fan), and I'd call it a sucker punch. I'd have no issue with the whole thing if Carcillo had allowed him to square up and have a fair go of it. In this case, I think that the suspension was deserved. Cote's a horrible player, but I think he goes about his job in a respectable way. He got the Flyers off to a good start with his scrap tonight. Even though they're down after two, I like what I'm seeing tonight.

He should be on the bus to Glen's Falls before the game ends. Anyone know if the Flyers are trying to do anything about finding a goaltender?

I'll take under (especially if they rattle off a few more quickly). It's discouraging as hell.

Maybe you're not off now. I thought he was a great 2-way player before, though and has socred a lot of goals. I would never have described him as a superstar... not even at his best.
