  1. The current gear. I think I'm developing a problem, but I'm not yet at the same level as some other members on this board. - one90 - (4) one95 - (3) se16 - (2) s17 - U+pro Reloaded - Supreme 70 w/ regular LS2's - 5k protective - 7K pants - NBH 5500 w/ visor - NBH 4 rolls I think I know what my new years resolution will be this year; no more buying gear! (which means i still have 2 months to get more gear)
  2. I have the same stick, where did you get yours Ebay? yup, ebay/tsr.
  3. Your really shouldnt watch porn on your laptop when taking photos of your gloves lol ;) not porn, was watching dexter on my laptop while coloring the gloves.
  4. I got mine from TSR too, and it came with a valid receipt from them. I guess this means NBH pro stock sticks from TSR have warranties?
  5. maybe, but it looks like a warranty sticker to me. what do you guys think?
  6. New Twig: Briere Prostock, 77 flex, lidstrom-esque curve. Also, it's only 58in from butt to heal uncut. I didn't know bauer made senior sticks that short. Also, the stick has a warranty sticker on it, does it mean it comes with a warranty? I thought all pro-stock sticks do not come with a warranty.
  7. Couldn't find a pair of 4 roll dallas gloves so I made my own. Went to town with some fabric dye.
  8. i have a pair myself. you'll love them. just curious, did you go the traditional baking route or a fit machine?
  9. Product: U+ Pro (size 6.5E) Ht: 5'7" Wt: 200 lbs (What can I say, I'm loves me some food) Foot Size: Size 8 sneakers, 7.5 dress shoe Foot Type: Duck like would be a good description. Med-Low arch. High Volume. FEET PICS WARNING http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3486/391301..._e661b085ac.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3488/391380..._17cf4c297a.jpg Level and Use: B league 1/week. Pick-up/Stick&Puck 1-2/week since July Previous Skates: Original U+, Supreme 70, Vapor XXXX, RBK 5K, Nike Air Accel Elite Fit: Before I say anything about the fit of the skates. I should mention that these skates must be baked for you to get an idea of how they're really going to fit your feet. If you are trying them on at the store w/o baking them, they will feel horrible on your feet. For me personally, when I first tried them on, they felt really sloppy in some areas and really tight and others. After they were baked they felt pretty good. It's truly amazing how much these skates mold to your feet yet remain a very stiff boot. As for the fit, I only have two complaints; the toe box is just slightly too narrow for my duck feet, and they slightly squeeze on my outer tarsometatarsal joint (the bump the juts out on the right side of my foot if you look at the pic provided). However, compared to the other skates I've worn, they fit me the best. I think that my feet are just too wide for me to ever find a perfect fitting skate at the retail level. 8/10 Blade/Holder: I'm really glad CCM choose to get rid of the Rocket Runner for these skates. Instead, they used their performance lite stainless steel (scalloped steel). Though this got rid of the annoying crunch noise of the RR, they do feel softer than both the RR and standard stainless steel. As for the EPRO holders, I have no complaints. They do put you on your toes more than LS2’s, but I adjusted to it quickly. 9/10 Weight/Protection: These skates aren’t heavy, nor are they considerably light. They weigh exactly how you would expect a top end skate should weigh. As for protection, I can’t really give much feedback. Not too many guys unleash howitzers in the league I play in, but on the shots I’ve taken so far to the skate, they’ve done the job in protecting my feet. 9/10 Durability: This is where the U+Pro really stepped up the game from the original model. In my original U+ skates, the liner wore out very quickly and the quarter panel began to bubble after the first couple skates. In U+Pro, I haven't had any of these issues or any other issue to speak of. 10/10 Intangibles: I can't stress enough that these skates must be baked for them to fit properly. When baked, the entire boot of the skate molds to the shape of your foot and the U+ foam expands to fill in all the spaces between your foot and the skate. The combination of the new liner, Ufoam, and the felt tongue make this a very comfortable to skate. In terms of looks, I'm not a real fan, but heck, if the skates fit, I guess I can't complain. I should also mention that this is a very stiff skate. I put it up there with the one95 in terms of stiffness, which may or may not be an issue for some skaters. 9/10 Conclusion: The U+Pro is a great skate. CCM addressed a lot of the issues that plague the original U+ skate. I'd recommend this skate to anyone who has had issues finding a skate that fits their awkward feet. OVERALL: 9/10 *edit* fixed pic links
  10. nice. how did you get you're hands on one? you do know that you are now obligated to review it for the rest of us now.
  11. I wouldn't be averse to a monthly trip to MD until a shop picks up a spinner but I can't get all the way down to your new locale. wow chadd thats extremely generous! im in the northern virginia/maryland area as well and that would be incredible to try out the FBV. i definitley wouldnt be opposed to making a trip out to harrisburg every so often also...i would totally understand if you wouldnt want to make the trip to maryland/northern virginia for some random MSH member that youve never met :) im sure you can understand what its like living in a non-hockey area like virginia. the FBV just sounds like something i need to try out. let me know if it would be ok if i could come up and get my skates done. I think kettler is getting it soon-ish. The last time I talked to the guys down there about it, he said they were interested in getting it in soon.
  12. Was that the reason why you were able to get clear for that breakaway goal? :D Nah, that was shear determination of will. I really wanted to be able to say I scored on Ms. Virginia. I put everything into my twig and gave it to her hard. It was noisy and felt really good. Too bad it was over so quickly though. :P
  13. I wouldn't be averse to a monthly trip to MD until a shop picks up a spinner but I can't get all the way down to your new locale. I would of taken you up on that offer. but yah, Virginia Beach isn't exactly the hot bed for hockey. I've been to both of the rinks down here. it doesn't look like I'll find a quality sharpener around here. I think I'm going to have to buy a extra set of steel and have them shipped out for sharpenings. beyond no icing, does any other place offer mail order sharpening?
  14. Thanks to Chadd at the MSH skate, I've been able to give FBV a try. I've been on FBV sharpening for about 10hrs of ice time now, and I can't believe how amazing it is. I don't know about the claims of it improving your top speed, but the improved glide is night and day from ROH. My only complaint is that when your going straight or turning slightly, it feels like you have no edges. It just took sometime for me to trust that my edges were eventually going to catch once I was committed to stopping and turning. Too bad I have to go back to ROH (unless anyone can point me to a rink with FBV in the area) for a few months while I save up for a X01.
  15. next time your looking to get rid of some 77-85 flex sakic or toe ops, send me a PM first. I'll probably be interested.
  16. Where'd you get them, and how much? ebay, $240 for the lot
  17. WOOT! new toys came in. 3 SE16 Eaves pro stock sticks. 85 flex, sakic curve (a little deeper though)
  18. just curious, did any of you guys snag this x60 on ebay? i was going to get it but a 95 flex is too stiff for me. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...s%3DI%26otn%3D2
  19. ..and help one up! haha, i'm a moron. i bet you'd be surprised to hear i'm actually going to harvard in the fall for grad school. Please tell me it's for English. Oh please please please.. nah, environmental management. i'll be honest, english has always been my worst subject.
  20. ..and help one up! haha, i'm a moron. i bet you'd be surprised to hear i'm actually going to harvard in the fall for grad school.
  21. Where are you guys snagging all these samsonov pro stocks? I've checked ebay and i can't find a single one. Should I give TSR a call? Hook a brother out.
  22. Nothing too special here but some might like it. I finally got normal ls2 on my supreme 70s. Also a side note to all skate manufacturers. This is how all skates should look, all black with a couple of highlights with white holders. All these silver skates with sublimated graphics just look bad.
  23. i don't know. I think the pics could be bigger. I can't see the individual carbon atoms, let alone the individual carbon fibers on the stick.
  24. Glad to see you got it. I love the curve, too bad it wasn't RH, if this LH experiment works out, expect future orders.
  25. Hlavac Dolomite just came in. Check out the meat hook on it. Can't wait to give it a whirl.
