  1. ovie's 6'3'' 230lbs. and he uses 75 flex.... so who gives a fuck what flex rating it has? nice pick up, that's a collectors item now; the only thing I wonder is the women's gear budget and if they get their equipment made specifically for women or what?
  2. I wonder if that machine is going to stay in vancouver after the olympics....... oh how I want FBV!
  3. I know people like to dremel their visors, but really, is it going to make that much difference? some things are more important than looks... just my opinion
  4. I'm still looking for the elusive Vector 5 ABS blade from CCM, the only ABS blade that came in tapered that I'm aware of...
  5. They can have kevin bieksa from the nucks... please? They'll take a bag of pucks, sno-cone machine and a few bent Gretzky rookie cards
  6. unfortunately that's what the rest of the league thinks of them too, so they ain't getting rid of anybody, and last time I checked I don't think you can put 15plus guys on waivers although I'm sure burke wants to at this point. if you can't trade, can't waive and can't just flat out fire them your hands are tied
  7. orrrrr they can only remember the stops on the schedule by the night-clubs they have visited/going to visit. Assistant captain is Tiger woods.
  8. well sometimes you just gotta lose, that's an undeniable fact in hockey and any other sport, sometimes the opponent gets the better of you. for the leafs it's almost better having a blowout loss than having another of those excruciating 'we played our hearts out, controlled the play and made two mistakes that cost us' type of games cause those are heartbreakers.
  9. true, he's got a lot of hockey left this year. I wonder if he might have a similar situation to what Gabby had, a messed up labrum which ends up stressing the groin as it compensates for the deficiency in the labrum (major core supporter I believe). apparently it happens mostly to athletes that overtrain... and as we might all know, both gaborik and crosby are chronic gym-rats.
  10. See also: Marian Gaborik, Simon Gagne, and countless others throughout the years. groin = very integral part of body.
  11. suspend him for the season, we would see some clean hockey pretty quick.
  12. And it wasn't Gary Roberts? that's amazing
  13. I don't know, Komi has just never impressed, sure he blocks a lot of shots and makes a few hits a game but really after that the rest of his attributes fall off drastically. Can't pass, can't shoot, can't fight, can't skate. this is my opinion of course, but nothing about him really screams 4.5mil a year or whatever they are paying, it's too much. comparatively christian erhoff makes 3.1 a year and is a standout at both ends of the rink this year with Van. Marl Streit for NYI makes 4.1 and once again a much better overall player, i don't want to turn this into a numbers thing, but really burkie blasted k. lowe before about paying out the nose for people that haven't proven themselves and komi hasn't proven himself at all.
  14. 'nother good game by the leafs, can't believe I'd rather watch one of their games than a det v. cal game, but damn do they play with a lot of heart. Hanson showed up and did all you could ask for from a marlies call up.
  15. sorry to be off topic, but Calgary? really? gross :)
  16. Leafs v. bolts was good game, wide open like the east normally is and the leafs were looking good... but I gotta say... tsn loves stamkos.
  17. correct me if I'm wrong but finger was brought in by the old management correct? vastly overpaid, specially when compared to White, same as komi they're bums
  18. Looked good tonight, Ovechkin was nullified by the crack team of Beauchiman (sp?) and White, and that's no slight on those guys, they just put a leash on the guy like you do in peewee hockey and he couldn't figure it out. Goes to show you that a little bit of heart goes along way. oh yeah, If he got any respect Ian White would be captain, but he'd probably have to kill somebody for burkie before he would be considered. Truculent.
  19. I'm liking the pads ISTOUT, I was thinking of contacting him to see if he could add some protection to my sher-wood traditionals, namely new bicep protectors and making the shoulder caps loose as opposed to attached to the bicep guards... was thinking that it couldn't be done but after seeing the difference in your pads I'm sure peaches is the way to go.
  20. the laff's are looking like a team tonight, probably don't want to lose the coveted opening slot on HNIC. anyway time will tell.
  21. If crosby and his line continue to play like they did tonight against the Habs there won't be much competition this year, they'll walk over the caps and flyers in the east (maybe rangers can keep up, if gabby can play) and I can't see a western conference team fast enough and smart enough to beat them (detroit's gotten slower, but they can still think the game together better than any other team) finals 3-peat??
  22. don't know if it's been mentioned but no sandbaggin' or pouting... that shit ain't cool. several instances of that in Van-city pick-up hockey where old W wash-ups come out for pick up and don't skate, back-check or pass and score like 7 goals cause they hog the puck, damn i hate that. or they can't score on the 5'3'' goalie and leave after half an hour...
  23. I'm not a fan of burkie or the leafs, but I gotta say he has a point. The pens and the caps are anomalies in the drafting system, the pens happened to suck real bad for a long time and ended up getting four NHL ready premiere players in the flower, sid, malkin and staal, the caps lucked due to sucking and got Ovie. just like presidents after Roosevelt the draft picks after those tremendous years pale in comparison. Is Stamkos good? yes, but I don't think he'll have the same effect crosby did. Tavares will not dominate like ovie... it's apparent, I'm sure they'll have great careers but the next batch of superstars are another hyper-generation away (6-10 years). he's going at it differently, but I think it might work out for them, expect the leafs in the playoffs next year!
  24. CLUTCH. oh and there's this little band, I know that you haven't heard of them, they have haven't produced in a few years, but I still think they're underground-- the beatles anybody? oh and its been mentioned but I'll add: The Coral are great. Can't forget SLAYER
