  1. Pro pattern, name and number, mustang palm, mesh gussets, pro pack foams, Hossa cuff. The cuff is an extra $50.
  2. I love PSHG, but opted to do my customs through IW. That way I got to work with Joe at Warrior US. I also got my 10% discount as always (IWin member), so the amount was the same as PSHG. Mine were $352 pre discount.
  3. Can anyone recommend a good suede cleaner to clean Warrior Mustang palms with? Technique as well? Thanks!
  4. I may be wrong, but I see plastic inserts in the cuff roll so I am guessing Pro Pack.
  5. Ditto. Is it me or is th taper really odd on that AK Shanny? Seems to stay very thick/wide and then "shaves" off... Never saw that before. Perhaps it is just me?!?
  6. Thats rough... I went to Warrior first before I placed my order. Joe told me as soon as I submitted the order to send him an email about the cuff. They then invoiced my retailer (IW) for the correct amount and adjusted the internal order.
  7. Yeah, I don't see why they would not have given you the Hossa cuff. Did you take the proper steps? (emailing them, paying the $50 extra to your retailer, etc).
  8. $315.00 USD was the grand total. Oh and shoeshine - I got them 3 weeks after I placed my order.
  9. Got mine on Thursday, just been too lazy to take pics... Here are the specifics: -14" Narrow -100% black tufftek except for the white classic/leather cuff roll -Custom stripes (not available via the customizer) -Custom Hossa/twist cuff -Yellow Mustang Palms -Black Mesh gussets -Name/number There is one thing I asked for, that said was MAYBE possible that I did not get - a carbon thumb patch logo. Joe @ Warrior said he would request it, but no guarantee. Overall I really like the gloves but there are a couple of things I wish were possible. 1. Black stitching. The white lines down the rolls look horrible. Tips on what kind of Sharpie to use? 2. The number font does not look good when comparing it to the new name font and the Warrior cuff roll font. New font used for names and the custom stripes I got through the white cuff roll: Hossa/Twist cuff. Cuts a lot of length off the standard Franchise: Top view of the Hossa/twist cuff opening: Although I have only played two games with mine, I really like them. You really notice the air flow though them when playing. I was using PPF's with MSH2 gussets for about the past year. Before that I used gloves like the Vapor XXXX Pro and CCM V10 that has "spandex" gussets. Those were of no comparison to the Warrior's mesh gussets. They feel very comfortable as well. Almost a "sponge" like feel. They don't make any noise since they are fairly soft. The only thing I can imagine would would a problem would be durability.
  10. Very nice halfmoonyote ! Props to your wife, she did a great job. My Franchises should be in tomorrow. Can't wait! PS - anyone having problems getting on the Warrior customizer the past few days?
  11. Wow, didn't think me spending $315 on gloves would start a debate... Sorry. Bottom line is that I worked hard and earned it. When I was a teenager I played with crappy Dunhams gear because my parents were not loaded. Now that I make enough money to support myself, I tend to spend some money on myself... I don't have a family, so I spoil myself mainly :) I generally end up using gloves for a long time. Like skates, I hate breaking new gloves for some reason. I usually use them for a year at a time and rarely have more than one pair. My PPF's are still in decent shape a year after their purchase but the means and "want" are in me for Franchises right now - so I did it.
  12. Ahhhh, thanks. I am horrible with images and the internet! If its not right-click/save-as - I am lost!!! I can't seem to get a "clean" shot if it like this: I likely need an image editor, which is something I know nothing about!!! Oh well, fairly basic. All black Tufftek with white Classic cuff roll. I got the small logo with the black racing stripes streaking through the white cuff roll (not available with the customizer), black bindings. Logo in black with silver outline. Joe @ Warrior is amazing. Very quick and very honest person to work with via email. And HockeySavant - I know it... Final cost $352.00 before my IW discount. That does not count the time/gas/tolls spent driving 2 hours the closest shop just to try on Franchises (13 vs 14 inch and Wide vs Narrow)... I did not end up ordering through them, but bought a stick each time I visisted so I did not feel guilty about it :) .. Anyway, the gloves are EXACTLY what I want and I don't mind shelling out and extra $100+ over standard PPF's or Franchises to get the EXACT glove I wanted...
  13. I finalized my purchase today... Ended up being $315.00 with my IW discount (uggg). Franchises in 14" Narrow with a Hossa cuff and, black mesh gussets, Yellow Mustang palm, etc... How do you copy the pictures from the Warrior customizers website? I would love to show what I ordered up, but when I right-click on it it just brings up "About Adobe" and "Settings".
  14. Very nice. I waited a day too long to grab one. I wanted a Kovalchuk 100-flex RH and waiting until morning for some reason to order it. Got a message saying insufficent stock. Oh well..... Nice pick-up!
  15. Product: CCM Vector 10 elbow pads (2009 version, grey/blue) Timeframe: mid-December 09 to present. Used 2-3 times a week. Fit I purchased these for the fit and mobility. For a long time I used no elbow pads at all and took a couple of slashes and shots. I wanted a pad that was very mobile with no restrictions at all. I am very pleased with the pads fit and mobility. I can extend my arm straight with no restriction and the pad is no overly bulky. Another key element is that the pad stays in place very well. With the rubber lining on the "sling" and elbow donut, the pad feels literally glued to your arm. After games it is a chore to get them off! The straping system is very good. The pad stays on itself with the arm sling and the velcro closures on the bottom are just for securing the forearm pad. The bicep strap is at a perfect location for me. 10/10 Protection So far I have not taken any slashes or hits that I have felt. There are some gaps in the pad but they are not in "key" area's. 9/10 Weight I do not find these pads overly heavy. I think the EPP construction helps reduce weight somewhat, but the 3-peice pads always seem a bit heavier for some reason. 8/10 Durability I think this pad has lasted me a while (nearly a year) but there were a couple of problems. About 2-3 months into the use of the pad, the rubber grips on the inside of the arm sling started to peel away. There is not much rubber left on them now... Second is that the upper bicep strap seems to "bind up" during use. The material is not that great (basic elastic). A standard non-stretch strap or a neoprene material may have made things better. The velcro on the strap also seems to not stick well anymore... Lastly is that the pad seems to get smelly faster than any other peice of equipment I have ever had. I sray the pads with StinkOut after every use and let them air dry out of the bag. They still started to smell fairly quickly. I think it may be the rubber grips in the pad that are obsorbing a lot of the smell. 5/10 Conclusion I would not hesitate to buy this/this style of pad again. The key is the mobility for me and the pads are very mobile. Although there have been some durability problems, the pads are still staying together and if I had to deal with a smelly peice of equipement - it would be my eblow pads! 8/10
  16. Thanks for the tips! I spray my gloves with Stink Out after every use and try them with a Shock Doctor HD blower with no heat. Very "religious" on that process. I also use Tacki-Mac grips so there is no residue on my palms from tape. I think I might just order one pair of customs to start with, likely with the Mustang palms. Might be the smarter bet than "blindly" spending $600-$800 on two sets and getting two pairs that are not what I wanted.
  17. SubliTWILL & uclahockey707 - Although I do love how thin MSH2 is, my main concern is that the new palm having the same resistance characteristics as MSH2 when using Nipple Grip sticks. When I used Vapor XXXX Pro's in the past, I did not like how the nash leather felt with grip sticks. They were not Warrior grip sticks, but none the less. The second primary concern is that the palm dries soft. I love that aspect of MSH2. Third is how thin it is. I can deal with a slightly thicker palm if it gives me the above two. From the research I have done, people seem to recommend the Micro Nash or the Mustang palm from Warrior.
  18. OK, palm question for Warrior's... I am getting close to ordering some (waiting for my holiday bonus so I can order two pairs). I am coming from Eagle MSH2 and were wondering what the best palm would be from Warrior. Durability and thickness are not a huge concern to me. I find that MSH2 and Warrior's Nipple Grip are a perfect combination for me. There is not much resistance but still some. Hard to explain! I also don't like palms that dry crusty... I was originally going to get the Warrior's repalmed right away with MSH2, but that appears not to be an option anymore... I believe the Mustang palm will be the best, but perhaps I am wrong???
  19. peck12 - Nice gloves! Are those wide fit or narrow? They look like wides...
  20. 2011 Warrior Dolomite DD Flex: 110, uncut with a 5-inch extension added Curve: Gionta Grip: Yes Height: 6'0 Weight: 260 Position: roller Defenseman. Time-frame of use: played 25 games so far. Recently Used Sticks (past five months): Easton S19 (110-flex), 2010 Easton ST (115-flex), 2010 Warrior Dolomite DD (100-flex) Intro: To start, I am a ROLLER HOCKEY player, I want everyone to know that before they read too in-depth. I have owned several Warrior Dolomites in the past. I bought my '11 DD and a '10 DD at the same time (although the '10 was a softer flex and different curve). These are my 5th and 6th Dolomites I have owned ('08 Dolo 110-flex Jovo, '09 Dolo 100-flex Draper x 3 - I tried all three lies). Aesthetics: I am fairly happy with the looks of the stick. Warrior graphics have been very flashy in the past and I was very happy that the '11 has a more basic look (in Warrior's scale). The stick is primarily grey in color with "chunky" 'Dolomite' written several areas of the shaft. The green 'Warrior' lettering on the forehand of the stick is not super bright and the white 'Warrior' writing on the backhand of the shaft looks really great. 9/10 Weight and Balance: This stick is not an ultra-lightweight but it is not heavy. The stick has enough weight to feel solid in your hands but is light enough that you don't think you are swinging iron. I think Warrior got the weight right on here. The stick is also very-balanced. The only stick I have recently owned that felt more balanced was my S19 and perhaps the '10 DD. 9/10 Blade: WOW! First thing that came to mind during warm-ups going between by '10 DD and this '11 DD. The '11 blade is simply the best composite OPS blade I have ever used. IMO it even has better feel than the One95's I have owned. The blade is rigid but still offers awesome feel. The difference between the '10 and '11 versions of DD are very noticeable. The blade is also very good for shooting. I have not felt the blade twist at all. Please Warrior, don't change this blade!!!!! 10/10 Shaft/Flex: I am very happy with this shaft of this stick. I know the "technology" may be old, but it works. I think the shaft dimensions of the Dolomite are perfect for my hands. More towards the "round" size, but not too much. The flex also plays very true. Even with my long extension in the stick, it is the stiffest retail stick I have ever played with (likely equal to the S19). 10/10 Stickhandling and Passing: I am not a dangler, so I am not going to comment on the stickhandling moves much. I think the pattern and overall feel of the blade has made my stickhandling a little better. Same with passing. The feel of the blade makes receiving passes a snap. I have noticed some vibrations through the stick, but it is not excessive. 9/10 Shooting: A great stick for whatever shot you are taking. Although it has a low kick-point, it is not ultra-low. I think the kick is perfect for just about any type of shot. I really consider it to be a "jack-of-all-trades" stick in terms of shooting. Almost all Dolo's have felt that way to me. 9/10 Durability: This is where I have had problems with Dolo's in the past. The blades (even the '09 HD's) always seemed to chip and fray easily. So far I have not had any blade problems at all. I use a very thin layer of tape (no overlaps) with A LOT (I mean A LOT!!!) of wax. The shaft is also holding up well. There are a few graphics that have chipped off but that is all. No chips in the finish of the shaft and no peeling of the grip. 9/10 Conclusion: I bought this stick as an experiment to try out a toe curve and to also try Warrior's grip (which everyone has raved about). I was honestly not expecting to like this stick so much. Not only do I adore the curve and grip, but the rest of the stick has been very pleasing. As an avid Easton user for a long time, I think I have found a new brand here in Warrior (assuming they continue to offer 110-flexes and don't ruin their line!!!!). I honestly think that this is the best "overall" stick I have ever owned. Wrist shots, slap shots, passing, durability - it all gets high marks. It is essentially all three Easton's I owned merged into one stick (the release of the S19, balance/feel of the SE16 and durability/power of the ST). Many of the other sticks I have owned seem to give something up somewhere or another. If this is indeed the last of the Dolo's, Warrior went out with a bang. 9.25/10.
  21. Thanks for the tip. I am expecting to pay more for the custom cuff/wrist guard. As long as I get what I want I am willing to pay!!!
  22. OK, thought this may be the thread to seek some help. I want to order custom gloves, but not for the color/bling effect! This is all comfort related... I currently use '09 Eagle PPF's and really like them. I am hesitant ordering Eagles again though due to the following: 1. I don't like the fit of the 2010+ interior foams. They are thicker and have been digging the looser feel of the '09 and earliers... 2. I don't like the new 2010+ palm overlay. It seems thicker to me. I would consider Eagles if I could get the old interior padding and perhaps a single-layer MSH palm. After trying on some Warrior I really think they are a better glove for me if I can get some custom cuff done. The 14 inch Franchise is a little too long and the cuff extensions interfere with my elbow pads. The 13 inch Franchise had a prefered length in terms of how far up the arm it went, but the fingers were too short. I was therefore thinking of 14" Franchises with a short cuff extension like that of Hossa or Doug Weight. The other thing that bothered me with the Franchise is that I was not able to bend my wrist down comfortably. I was thinking of asking for the left glove (top hand for RH shots) to have no bottom wrist guard. Think that is possible??? I am not great with finding pictures on the internet - does anyone want a mission to find some shots of Doug Weights Franchise cuffs and possibly a shot of Ovechkins CCM gloves without the bottom wrist guard? Finally, I don't have a LHS within a 2-hour drive. Has anyone ever used a non-LHS to handle custom gloves? I thought there was a memeber on here that people worked with?
  23. Yeah, those two need to get on the same team as each other stat! DP would have a chubby the whole time! haha. Borderline man-crush as much as the Smyth/Gretzky.
  24. Labeda Addiction wheels Durometer: Orange (~78A) Size: 80mm on Tour skates, so all four positions. About me: 260lbs, defenseman and intermediate skater. League/surfaces: Second-tier league league on Sport Court (my first season on Sport Court since 1999!). Usage: Once-a-week use from April ’10 through June ’10. Also loaned 4 wheels to a friend for tournament play at StateWars and the Tour Beach tournament in Chicago, so about 20 games. Grip: I did not find these wheels all that grippy. They offer a lot of grip for their wear characteristics, but overall I think I need a softer wheel in at least the front two positions. For my last game on SportCourt I used some nearly-worn Labeda Milleniums (74A) and found it to be much better in terms of grip. 6/10 Speed: This wheel is super-fast! They are rather hard and I noticed right away when going to the softer Millenium wheel that the Addictions were much quicker. 10/10 Durability: After 13 uses personally done by myself the wheels had virtually no wear. There were a couple of small minor cracks starting to form on my back two wheels, but there was no edge wear at all. I loaned the four worst wheels I had to a friend to use on the back positions of his Mission skates. After playing about 8 tournament games, one wheel came back with fairly severe cracks - so bad that I won’t use it again. Another wheel had less cracks that I may keep as a back-up. The other two wheels only had more cracks then when I gave it to him but are still useable. Considering that he is a more aggressive skater, I am going to base my rating off of my findings after 13 games of use and give them a 9/10 Looks: Orange wheel with minor graphics. Fairly simple. Looks good. 10/10 Value: Thankfully I got these wheels for “free” when I purchased my Tour Code Tabu skates. The skates coming with Labeda Addictions was a determining factor in my decision to make that skate purchase. For $13/wheel, I would expect this wheel to do some dirty things to me that are illegal in all 50 states and some foreign countries! In other words, it better do it all for costing over $100/set. The wear is superior as is the speed, but the grip was not all there for me. Perhaps the softer version would be better, but then I would give up speed and durability. For $100/set I expect all three!!! 6/10 Overall Rating: This is a great wheel that is pushing technology to the next step. Several companies seem to be countering Labeda so I am thankful for that. I do think the wheel has been given a lot more hype that it actually deserves and the price tag is likely $2-$3/wheel too high. It is still a fast wheel that wears well and gives enough grip to get by. 8/10
