  1. Oh I know you. You skate like you're riding a skateboard.

  2. New custom creepers: all navy with white lettering, VA-80 pro pack wit plastic inserts and mustang palms. These gloves fit amazing! Thanks to BostonJuniorBlackHawks for the advice on these cause he's definitely correct, these gloves are killer. I went with a dark color throughout on these because i wasn't sure how I was going to like the breaks in the padding and I figured if they came out ugly navy would hide it the best (also matches my teams colors). But lucky for me I love the way they turned out. Also, they're not nearly as tight fitting as I was expecting. The best part, these came on the same day as I got my MCAT score, they couldn't have planned it any better! :)
  3. My holders were pretty beat up on my old skates (very similar to that) and it never gave me any problems at all. Looks to be only cosmetic at this point IMO.
  4. They felt short, but I remember my other pair of narrows I had a while back were also quite short in the cuff, not in the fingers. It's really no big deal, confusions happen all the time, it's not like I blame you, we all make mistakes.
  5. Michael Ryder/Derek Morris WC Franchises Gloves were made by Warrior for Morris and worn by #73 Michael Ryder (was a little surprised when they arrived because seller failed to acknowledge they were narrows...kinda sucks, so trying to workout a return). But, on the brighter side, the digital palm is one of the nicest I've ever had a chance to feel.
  6. So, got a bunch of stuff this last week. Here's a bit of it. My BASE stick, this is the standard color scheme for BASE (the only reason I'm posting it is because people have asked about it in the past and now they can see what they get when they don't want to customize their stick's colors) Next is a John Madden pro stock s19 with a pretty sweet curve. Was really pleasantly surprised by how well this stick loads and releases slap shots (one of the best I've ever used IMO) Lastly, I included a pic of my shooting setup that I've had for a long time now (no, I haven't put one through the TV or window yet). Bought a canvas tarp at the Home Depot and hung it from ceiling hooks. The plexi surface is longer than this pic shows since I couldn't fit the whole garage. Hope this helps inspire someone else's setup in the future!
  7. Those guys are the same jackass' that tomahawk your wrists and hit you in the face with their sticks at pickups. Some people don't have perspective man, sorry to hear you're gonna be out for a long while. Keep positive and work hard and I'm sure you'll be in the 50% that will skates again.
  8. Really clean looking. Love the white cuff roll. Nice pickup.
  9. It's really crazy how much cheaper stuff sells for during the off-season. Powerplay auction's franchises (fedo's gold and black ones and the blue ones) were selling for as much as 310 during the playoffs, now they're 120-150.

    X60 Pants

Reviewed: Bauer X60 Senior Medium (32-34 waist) Height: 5'11 Weight: 180 Hockey Experience: ACHA My supreme series pants (one75s) were starting to breakdown a bit and I decided to give the vapor series a shot. Fit: Coming from the looser supreme series of pants the fit was a little surprising to me initially. These pants fit very tight all around and feel similar to wearing a girdle (hugging tightly to your waist and legs). The pads themselves are shaped such that they wrap around your legs (anatomical fit) rather than in my previous pants where I felt like the pads where much more flat and didn't hug onto my body. The length was a bit shorter than I would have preferred but nothing that I couldn't live with. Even though these pads felt very foreign to me, after a couple of skates I couldn't tell the difference nearly as much and they felt more comfortable. 8.5/10 Protection: This is where these pants shine. They are built like a brick-house. While wearing these I was seriously tested to find a location on them that wasn't padded. The legs, waist, kidneys and lower spine/tailbone area all receive more than superior protection, as should be expected from a top of the line product. Mobility is a bit of an issue with these pants, mainly just because I am more familiar with low level pants that don't offer so much padding. Overall, the padding was a bit much for my needs but for those of you who like it, I would highly recommend these pants. 8.5/10 Weight: These weigh a bit more than most mid-level pants due to their extensive padding, but not to the point that it should affect your skating and game play at all. (8/10) Intangibles: A very protective pair of pants that is well-suited for most people still playing full contact hockey, but in my opinion, they're a bit too extensive for those who are playing adult league. Overall, I liked the pants and thought they offered a very different experience than the supreme line, but I just felt like they weren't meant for me due to the mobility and overall fit. 8/10 Final Rating: 8.25/10
  11. He picked them up on ebay
  12. Height: 5'11" Weight: 180 Hockey Experience: ACHA 2009 V10 CCM Shoulder Pads Wear Time: 1 year (only for full contact hockey) Fit: 8.5/10 This is what really attracted me to these pads. I was tired of wearing shoulder pads that looked like something Brian Urlacher wears on Sundays. These are by far the most low profile and protective pads I've ever worn. I love the fact that they don't have huge shoulder caps, but rather a contoured pad that wraps the shoulder comfortably and makes moving in and out of traffic during games much easier. Overall, the fit is tight but not restrictive. The only minor issue I have is that sometimes during games the front of the pads might lift a bit and push the neck portion into my throat, which really is just a minor annoyance. Protection: 9/10 Starting from the chest out, the central sternum pad has a primary plastic insert is very strong and has an additional adjustable portion attached to the bottom of it to cover the area between the pants and shoulder pads. The neck portion has a comfortable foam roll that wraps the whole neck area so that you really don't have to worry about being stabbed in the neck by a piece of plastic during you games. The back features a similar design as the front, sporting a central pad that covers the spine with a plastic insert as well. Finally, the shoulders feature a contoured shoulder cap that has an additional low profile pad the wraps around where it attacked to the main body of the pad. Overall, this pad is one of the best combination of protection, weight, and mobility. Weight: 8/10 I usually wear a pair of Sherwood 5030 shoulder pads during my adult league games, and anyone who knows about those pads knows that they weigh close to nothing. So coming from the perspective of wearing those, these do weigh more and are not as breathable. But, that being said, these pads were one of the lightest of current top-of-the-line pads available on the market. Durability: 9/10 CCM definitely did a fantastic job on these pads in terms of quality of material. With most pads, you see the velcro start to break down and minor rips and tears. But the combination of high quality nylon and very little plastic has made these pads age very little in the time I've owned them. General Overview & Notes: 8.6/10 Some general notes first, these pads have taken a beating and hardly show it. It's pretty clear to me that they were made well and CCM put some effort into them. I run through equipment pretty fast so saying that these pads are durable to me really means a lot because I hate dropping money on protective gear every year. Very little smell with these pads and they tend to dry pretty quickly. Overall, a fantastic combination of lightweight materials and high quality protection. If you're in the market for a high-end pair of shoulder pads I can highly recommend them. Thanks!
  13. Ah man, no bueno. I really like the look of those gloves too. Did your Koivu pair break in nicely? Nice EQ's by the way, how are they treating you?
  14. Dupes - You like those ccm v10 gloves? I tried on some retail ones and they were really stiff feeling. Are the Talbots or your Habs pair the same way?
  15. How do you like them? Comparable to the one95? You spend a fortune getting them early?
  16. Nice mitts Bobby! Where did you find em?
  17. Love the x80's & the blacked out gloves man
  18. Ya, I love the ak27's understated look right now, not a fan of the new pattern. Was also a little bummed in warrior's last catalog when I saw the ak27 pro glove still isn't going to be offered in solid colors (only in their goofy sublimated pattern)
  19. Was selling a pair of gloves today and thought it was a good enough time as any to take a group shot.
  20. Those flames gloves have the classic cuff? (the cuff pre-2010 model)
  21. Bought these a month ago and never got around to posting them. Practically brand new, micronash palms and mesh gussets. Really like the older model of franchises.
  22. What's with the lining in the hossa gloves? I have that liner in another pair of my pro stock warriors, and it doesn't have the silver shield little stripes on it, it looks like a net/mesh covers the yellow liner.
  23. they're pro stock, like BJB said above, bought them off powerplay auctions on eBay. Had been waiting for a pair to come up that wasn't trashed and these were practically brand new so I kinda jumped at them.
  24. nah man, both pair are standard/normal width. I had a pair of narrow grabovski's and they were too narrow for my liking. Why, whats up?
  25. The navy blue is very dark, while the mont. blue is a much different color. I tried to lay my NYR gloves over my navy ones so you could see the difference.
