i hate ordering gear from hockeymonkey. I'd almost rather pay more money for a product i don't really want from my LHS. hockeymonkey will probably put the shit i ordered tuesday in the mail friday so it won't get here until the middle of next month because UPS is retarded.

Holtby looked really good in training camp this year also. I think he may be a hidden gem that will net a decent return as part of a trade, if both Neuvirth and Varlamov develop as planned. It's hard to say when a goalie is NHL ready, some don't develop until their late 20's, others look good from juniors on up. Holtby has excelled given the opportunity within the organization, I hope he gets a start in his callup, but it does look like it's just a precautionary ride the pine for a game or 2 until Theo is Ok again I saw Holtby a couple weeks ago and was impressed by his play and he seems to be a big "team guy". After every goal he came out to the blue line to congratulate the guys after they went down the bench tapping gloves. There were a couple other things that just stood out as being very team oriented. I got to see holtby a few times in south carolina and other than a few bad goals i've liked the way he played. wish we could get him back :D

Most GMs want at least one veteran netminder when they head into the playoffs. i already thought of that. we'll bring artus irbe out of retirement for a few weeks.

So, anyone thinking trade theo for a bag of pucks and a minor league goalie and keep varly and neuvy in washington?

A couple years back I was playing in a fairly mellow pickup game and a kid shows up going balls-out every second he's on the ice. Cross checking in front of the net, hacking at sticks and throwing his body in front of shots. After about 20 minutes he attempts to block a shot and end s up taking out the shooter, an older guy that wasn't a great skater and couldn't avoid his sprawled out body sliding across the ice. End result is a guy riding in the ambulance with a broken leg and not being able to work for more than a month, just because one guy wanted to play "all-out". the guy you described isn't going all out, he's a douche bag. I think theres a slight difference between that and getting your moneys worth out of pickup. I skate hard at pickup but i'm in it for the workout.

if you can't skate, wear a friggin cage. i'm sure this has been mentioned, but i just saw some guy whose been playing for a relatively short amount of time lose a handful of teeth after falling in front of the net.

currently losing to florida 4-0. lol.
