Was able to go to stick and puck for the first time today in the past ten months; definitely had a lot of fun.

Those Creepers look like they are Montreal Blue...IMO.

@Outcast_Flyer: Very commendable to help out a new player to the game; definitely a great way to support the sport and to ensure the sport grows. However, sometimes people have nothing good to say (such as the Development league allstar) and are compelled to be a smart ass/douche bag.

@Jason: Great analogy! @Kirsch: Life is too short for you not to try playing goalie. Take the great advice from the posts, get some gear and have some fun.

one helluva a nasty lady that cannot understand why she cannot be refunded for items that have not shipped to her. i tried explaining that most places do not charge you until they ship the product (as does the company i work for). she is unsatisfied with the fact that I cannot refund her the money and asks for my first and last name to submit a formal complaint to our corporate office.

not being able to understand how customers get all pissed off trying to justify that "i only used the club once" when they are trying to return it for full value/money back. i'd like to see if how they would feel if they paid full price for a club that some else had used on the course/driving range "just a few times". the logic of a person using a club just one time and them not liking it (especially considering that they are most likely a bogey golfer and not a PGA tour player) is somewhat ludicrous.

I'm glad that I have a job, but the following four things did not make my day any less crappy: 1. No show, no call from one of the shop employees. 2. My boss said he'd be in today to help for inventory preparation, but decides not to come in. 3. One bitch from hell that decided to chew my ass about some things she ordered 4. Salaried managers that are afraid to work one hour of "overtime"; especially right before physical inventory

It's a real kick in the nuts when you help out a customer that gets upset and thinks that you are not being nice because you have given them too much information.

Since I've been injured for the past four months (no that is not the Sweet Spot ), I've had a lot of time to think about how much I miss ice hockey. I'm really glad that I got into playing ice hockey (even though it was at a very late age; over 40) and I'm really glad that I became aware (and a member) of MSH. I've learned so much from MSH and from the many members that share their wealth of knowledge to hockey players of all skill sets and ages. I was laughing at myself the other day, as I was reminiscing about my very first stick/puck session. I got all geared up and was sweating buckets after the first 15 minutes. The funny thing about it was that I didn't realize that you could/needed to cut my stick; so being 5'9" I was playing with a full length stick So thanks to MSH and to all the members that have answered/helped me out with my posts and PM's.

Finished my second week of ten weeks of physical therapy for an ankle injury that took place on Super Bowl Sunday. Just after two weeks of physical therapy, the ankle is feeling a lot better and I cannot wait to get back to the ice. @bostonjuniorblackhawks: congratulations on getting back to the ice; one year is a long time away from the game. Out of curiosity, how did you pass the time? I've been having one helluva time trying not to buy hockey gear (gloves, sticks, etc...), it's been tough!!!

Nah, keep the the way they are; nice pick up by the way!

So I decide to share the gift of hockey with one of the guys from work; he doesn't play but he's a sports nut to say the least. I had a ticket that I could have used, but I knew that he had not been to a game in more than a couple of years. So, I ask him the next day how he liked the game and he told me that he watched most of it from the bar. He had some crazy story that a fan at the game got in his face; stating that he was in the wrong seat. I asked the guy I worked with, if he talked to one of the ushers to see if they could help him find his correct seat. He then said that the usher was not helpful to his dilemma. At first I was bummed that he had such a bad time at the game; especially since he took the day off from work, took the time to drive to the arena and pay for the parking. However, the more I thought about it, his story did not make sense. A couple of days later, I checked with the arena to see if the ticket I gave him was actually scanned at the door. So I hear back from the arena today and they told me that my ticket was not scanned. I'm not so much pissed at the the fact that they guy lied to my face, but just a bit depressed that he could not tell me the truth and that he let the ticket go to waste.

That guys sounds like a real douche to two hand chop your stick with 20 seconds left !!! I presume that you guys were winning?

Congratulations on the new gig!

Got to lace 'em up with my team mates and play a early evening game at The Tank (HP Pavilion). Even though our team got demolished, it was truly an experience that I will never forget.

I don't get customers that insist on yanking, shaking, knocking on the door after the store is closed. The hours are clearly posted on the door, as well as the internet; sometimes it's mind boggling.

amazing quiver of modano sticks

There is a 50/50 chance that she'll try something like that again in the near future; by giving her the initial refund for store credit kind of sets a precedent for future "returns".
-
Even though most places would have told her no on the refund, the chain I work for would rather take the loss than have her leave the store angry. She basically got a store credit for the one tee, since the retail cost of the tees was $5.99 (obviously if it would have been something more costly, the outcome would have been different).
-
What amazes me about difficult retail customers is their lack of common sense. I work for a golf store chain and the other day a customer came in wanting a refund on a bag of golf tees. Returns/refunds are a normal event in most retail stores, yet this refund was a little different. Basically she wanted to return 1 tee (the original bag contained 25 tees) for a full refund. When I asked her if she had the receipt and/or the rest of the tees, she said that they threw them away; but was still expecting a refund.

yea it's fun to have more ice time (and if your team is keeping the score close), but like you said if it's a blow out then it really sucks

I thought that promotion was over? I realize that they have it on their website still, but on their Facebook page they mention that it was to end on 6/14?
-
Krev, I'm sorry to hear about what UPS did with you product; the drivers must have been on crack! So out of curiosity, did they compensate you for the inconveniences?

So I took the day off of work to sign for a package from FedEx that was scheduled to be delivered to my house. Luckily I had a bunch of chores to do around the house, so the time went by rather quickly. Around 8:00pm, I am getting a bit concerned if they were going to deliver the package; usually when I get stuff from FedEx it's no later than 5:00pm. Fearing the worst, I decided to check my email and sure enough there is auto generated email from FedEx stating that they had the box on their truck, but made no attempt of delivering the goods. WTF!!! Now, I have to wait until Monday to see if they can attempt a delivery I realize that may seem trivial compared to the other events going on in the world; I guess I'm a little pissed
