Best time at a concert!

We were above

You standing underneath us

We were not yet lovers

Dragons were smoked

Bumblebees were stinging us

I was soon to be crazy

Satellite in my eyes

Like a diamond in the sky

How I wonder

Satellite strung from the moon

And the world your baloon

Peeping Tom for the mother station

I'm sorry. Most of his lyrics only make sense if you're stoned or if you don't want to be the only kid not on the bandwagon. If you enjoy his stuff, that's cool. But he's not a wordsmith like Lennon or McCartney.

If anything it's more like the Allman brothers or the dead. A band that can do a 3 minute version of a song or a 23 minute version of the same song. They just never had the marketing arm of a major label behind them, nor were they very telegenic.

Not a big fan of Dave and the band but thats just me.  I tend to migrate towards bands that have alot of energy and cause the "conservative" folk to have a heart attack.  ;)

Dave would fit that category, he's as big a lib as anyone ;)

Nah. I am talking concerts where people are outside yelling at you because you are going to see "that band." Cracks me up every time.

It doesnt happen in Denver but does in Colorado Springs.

I remember when everyone at work thought I was the anti-christ for going to see megadeath when they played in Hershey. Then again the IT department at that hospital wasn't the most outgoing group in the world.

Of course Chadd the band has "Death" in the name. Must be bad! :P

Guys at work crack up when they see my CD collection in the car. They wonder how a 36 year old can listen to Korn, Black Flag, and Godsmack.

They sounded great, just not much of a show. One of the better sounding bands live I've seen.

Hey now! To be fair.. they only have "Deth" in the name! ;)

and Chadd I will agree Megadeth has always technically been a great sounding band live. I saw Steve Vai on the passion and warfare tour and he was also technically amazing.

Those two songs aren't a good representation of his lyrical genius, you shouldn't completely judge DMB by what songs you hear from them on the radio. I could throw some DMB lyrics on here with deep meaning but in the end it all comes down to personal preference. That is the beautiful thing about music, whatever you are feeling or whatever you taste is you can find something that fits your needs.

no band even comes close to dave matthews band, they are great on a different level, daves voice isnt winney its heavy and deep, no band sounds like them, with the sax and violin its something special every show, i went to my first concert in 2002 at the palace to see dmb and they were awesome, no shows are the same. his lyrics are amazing unlike any other, you wrong there not a cd band, they are a live band, there cds suck when compared to how they play live. Stand up will be sweet

Amen to this man. People do not understand the skill it takes to make a violin and sax fit into the rock genre. I think Stand Up is going to be the best album since Before These Crowded Streets. For those that saw DMB in 95 or extremely early in their career they have changed a lot. If you watch their live in central park dvd you can't tell me that they are not one of the most talented bands on the planet.

Another one is back when the Warped Tour was good and not full of pussy bands, the Pharcyde had one of the better sets I'd seen. They then brought out a 5' bong and had a kid come out and hit it. Needless to say that tour never came near AK again.

definately the taste of chaos tour, unfourtunately i couldn't get pit tickets (they were something rediculous like $150 or something). But it was still insane.

MCR and Senses Fail were amazing, im just upset i didn't get to see saosin cause they had the day off!

That is another awesome thing about DMB they can fit into so many genres. Their record label refers to them as rock but they could be considered: rock, jazz, folk, pop, etc. Hell, live versions of songs like Last Stop, Halloween, Rhyme and Reason, Don't Drink the Water, etc could make you think they are a real heavy rock. They appeal to fans of many genres.

I went to Projekt Revolution to see Linkin Park...omg...so awesome. LP are somethingto see live. I saw Snoop Dogg there too as he was part of the tour. Lol, someone threw a blunt on stage from the crowd, Snoop lit it up and smoked it right there on stage.

I also agree about My Chemical Romance (MCR). So amazing. Their song Helena is one of my all-time favs.
