Easton blades

Recommended Posts

Are easton going to bring out any composite stick blades soon because it seems like the z carbon has been the only out for a while?

I always wanted them to release a ZCarbon blade without the focus flex. Alot of Pros used a blade like that before one pieces became popular. They had the Ultra Lite and the Metal Matrix blades, but they were heavier than the Zcarbon.

They did introduce the si-core version of the blade, it's not like they haven't been considering new technologies for replacement blades. It's also been the best selling composite replacement blade for years. Why change something that already makes quite a bit of money for them? The CNT blade on the SL is the next logical step once they are comfortable with the durability of the blade.

yea, the focus flex is basically a 50 dollar peice a crap. i had one, it sucked for durability, and it didnt help my shot at all.

31 day durabilty, exactly like designed! Very thin carbon surrounding foam. I'm surprised folks still buy those. I stopped selling them after customers got pissed at me cause the things broke so fast and they have no warranty. They expected ME to replace it. Sorry Charlie.

Sorry Charlie, but every Z carbon i've had has lasted forever. I still have an old black one in one piece thats been to hell and back. Some people need to learn how to shoot and not dig the focus flex straight into the ice.

I don't know about the z-carbon but the synthesis blade has a 30 day warranty on it.

I love the suckers. I play(ed) roller up to 5 times a week, and only had one break after I got slammed into the boards and it snapped. I don't know if the focus does anything really. I guess it might. It helps flex a little.

Im not too happy with the blade on my SL. I just cant get a good feel with it. It kinda feels like my Sicore blade, which I dont like. I think with a real puck it must help feel, but with a light roller puck, I can't get a good touch. Dampens vibrations too much. I dunno. Just my opinion I guess.

Easton Z-carbons (and just about any other Easton composite for that matter) are inconsistent. I had one of the silver ones that lasted me about 6 months, playing two games, and two drop-ins a week. While another that I had only lasted about three weeks. Same with the Si-core blades. Its basically luck of the draw with these blades.

it might just be luck as you said^ but for me the sicore lasted for my entire season of 60+ games and two, 2 hour practices aweek. Ive never tryed the focus flex tho

As been said in another thread, the Bauer Vapor X is supposed to compete with the Z-carbon as is the Vapor x shaft is to compete with the z-bubble. I guess i was one of the unlucky ones with the z-carbon( 2 weeks ) IMO the Bauer Vapor X is a better blade for performance and durability.

Just a thought.... using a Focus Flex Blade with a Z-Bubble doesn´t make sense to me. I used the Z-Carbon (old black ones) in an Utra-Lite and was the best thing I ever held in my hands back in the day but when I tried it in a Z-Bubble it felt weird...... two flex zones? What for?

i have a z-bubble grip with a z-carbon blade, and it's great. the focus flex may not flex, but it doesn't bother me one bit.. the z-carbon is lighter than a wood blade. i never pay full price for anything i buy, because i know it's not worth it. i shop around and look for good deals. i bought some stealths.. got em for $150usd each. i don't know if they are more or less where ya'll are.. but around here.. shops sell them for about $250usd.. so i'd say i saved quite a bit. back to the topic.. :P i like the z-carbon!! i play in a competitive league, and i like to win.. and i'm sure most people do. but when it comes down to it, i'm playing for fun because i love the sport. i think once you start playing on teams with coaches, it takes away the fun. hockey becomes more serious.. i play with a lot of guys that are just blah.. always so serious, even when we're just playing pick-up. that's just what i think! sorry to stray so far off topic..

EASTON Z-BUBBLE GRIP 100FLEX + EASTON Z-CARBON IGINLA = :D

So we're all in agreement here? The Zcarbon blade doesn't flex? I always wondered if it was, but with a roller puck and the 100 flex sticks I use, I could never really tell. Maybe if I used a lower flex and an ice puck, I could feel the flex more.

i gotta admit.. hockey is an extremely expensive sport. it's ridiculous at times.. but hey, i'll pay because i love to play. as for the z carbon flexing.. i'm not sure.
