Kings -

Pronger may arrive here in a trade

Glen Murray being sought after (he still owns a home here)

Blake may be approached if the Avs buy him out (also still owns a home here)

Kariya may be offered a deal (GM Dave Taylor has always coveted PK)

Allison done as a King

Palffy done as a King

Let the madness begin!!! :D

I forgot to ask. Whats the word on Deadmarsh? Is he done?

Not officially, but yeah....he's done.

Sucks too....because we loved him here. What an awesome player he was. And a good guy as well.

I wonder if the Rangers will be sellers instead of buyers for the first time in like, forever.

I'd like to see if Bure can suit up again. He's really a good player, but I guess with a busted up knee, the Miami cocaine he's snortin, and the Russian mob-ties, it could be tough to actually come back to the ice to make a living.

Bure's agent Mike Gillis pretty much alluded to Bure being done in an interview on canadian radio.

That does suck. He should have been a consistent 30 - 40 goal scorer too.

I heard that the Oilers are going to win the cup.

Probably from the same people who say the Bruins will spend the max so they can win it too. <_<

I haven't heard much except that LeClair and Amonte most likely won't be back and there's a chance that Roenick may not either.

Yeah, LeClair and Amonte will probably be bought out...althought I talked to Amonter earlier in the year and sounded like he wouldn't mind playing....JR will be back, almost positive. Clarke said in the CP that the Flyers may be shopping for a big D-man, most notably Blake, Jovo, Chara, and someone else to compliment Markovs play.

i heard from joe thornton's agent today on the team 1040 and he said he wasn't 2 happy with boston... (bertuzzi for thornton?)

and everyone is saying kariya should sign with the canucks... north vancouver native and would look good here, would be good for marketing, plus if we get a prospect by the name of gilbert brule... 2 north vancouver players... kariya and brule... wouldn't that look good for the nucks..

I heard from a bunch of unrelated sources that Markov wasn't coming back. I could see Amonte go back to Phoenix or Chicago. Just don't expect to see him in Miami.

That's a shame... I liked the way Markov played. I heard the Flyers wanted to make a run at Niedermeyer, but don't know who they'd cut if they did. I have the feeling that Desjardins may be bought out, but haven't heard anything.

i'm a big oilers fan!!! i heard that they'll try for 35 million this year but only if they still get the 2 million from the nhl for the canadian US difference thingy. last year they were at 32 million or something so it's not a big jump and lowe said that they'll never hit the 39 million because of to much risk and if you know the oilers well you'll know that the owners are cheap and they'll want to pocket some money this time around after that 14 million cash call they had last year. from what i hear they'll go for a goalie if markkanen stays in europe, buyout isbister (thank god!), resign their unsigned players, sign nedved to a short term contract, sign back niinimaa and maybe another puck moving D like rafalski. nothing super special but then again it's the oilers. i personally wouldn't mind making a run at samsonov and would give symth, first round pick and what ever else they might be interested in except for york and hemsky.

Are there still Kariya rumors in TO?  I remember there were a lot right before the lockout.

I haven't heard anything lately. I think the Mogo talks have all kind've faded away, so the media doesn't know whether we need a replacement for him or not. Conversely, the Roberts leaving rumours are heating up, so a guy like O'Neils name keeps coming up. I think alot of guys want to come to Toronto, but some of the names are crazy. What would be TOs motive to sign Selanne.... really? Lindros, Allison, O'Neil, even Nieds  all have something to offer, at least potentially. The fact Toronto always trys to get Sundin some Sweeds to play with could mean Nassy or Foppa come, but thats a long shot and to be honest I haven't heard anyone, but leaf fans mention it.

Any word on Mogo's hip? I thought he was done, but I haven't heard anything in so long.

Anybody hear anything about Edmonton??

Doug Weight is rumoured if he leaves/is bought out (not sure if he is a UFA yet)

That's not that far out of the realm of possibility. Remember, they spent a bit the last season played to make a run. I think they will spend close to the max since it will be below what they spent in their last run. I honestly think now that the B's will be much better off, as long as O'Connell picks the right guys to spend on.

Look for Fernandez to be gone from the Wild. He wants to be #1 and doesn't like the musical goalie system that Lemaire runs. If he goes, the Wild may bring up Harding from Houston or bring in an older goalie as the back up to Rolo. Also, O'Sullivan is a high priority to get signed.

There was an article in the CP a little bit ago, and they put together all of the lines of what to expect...I forget if Clarke said those or not, but they had his quotes all over the article so...But Markov was still in the game plan, and the Flyers were expected to hunt for another big strong d-man to play with Markov. Malakov isn't supposed to return, I heard that rumor. As for Rico, he'll be back next year, I guarantee.

The Bruins have to do something to win back some fans that they lost during the past few years because of their cheap ways with some players./

That was what the deadline deal for Gonchar and Nylander were for. They took a serious run at it in the last season and I think that will continue.

Dang right. If there are no fans how is Jacobs going to sell his number one priority at the Fleet Center ... HOT DOGS!

You're kind of right. Those deals were made in response to dropping attendance. We Boston fans finally spoke with our wallets the past few seasons and made management take notice.

Speaking of falling attendance, I still say each team's first home game should be before an empty building.
