easton quality

has anyone else had problems with the 05 easton sticks? does easton have duriablity issuses with the 05 sysnegrys?

my story as to why i WILL NEVER use easton again:

i jan i bought 2 grip syngerys(got a great deal on them). well after using them for only 4 skates the bottom of one blade broke. i called easton and was able to get a replacement (st grip). was very upset that they no longer made the shanny pattern in the syngery. so i chose a different pattern. they sent the wrong one (st). called and the next day got the right one. everything is cool now. used the st grip 1 time and the blade broke on the first shot. so called them back and got a systhensis with 2 blades. i have come to the end of my using ops because of hte cost involved in replacing them. i know on easton's message board other have complained about the 05 sysnergys, but that board is basised, this one is not. i have also been able to get rid of every easton stick i had owned. now using inno 1100, just wished i had switched soon. imo much better made shafts.

just wanted your feed back.

My SL blade held up for nearly 20 minutes of passing.

Sounds like you got a good one!

Since I don't play competitive hockey anymore, I just use shaft/blade combos, but some guys on my teams use the latest and greatest technology. I've seen countless problems with the SL, and a lot of guys I play with are making moves away from Easton in general.

It was pro stock, not retail. That really shouldn't matter though.

Easton does seem to have a problem with quality control with there sticks for some time now, But there is something up with this. Some of my friends have gotton Stealths and most of them have broken already but my one friends Stealth is still going and it been through hell and back. To me it seems that Easton is inconsistent when it comes to thier sticks. This is also applys to my teamates that have gotton Synerges too.

MY sl grip Lids 85 is still going strong after 2 months. The red chipping away looks like crap but what can you do? I will definitely keep on checking it out after games.

In the shop, my Easton sales have been good and nobody is pissing and moaning about broken Easton OPS. The Bauer OPS has done well, too. Also, no requests for the 1-800- number my OPS broke and I'm pissed!

I have a Vapor XXX Sr 77 flex Samsonov P02 curve on the way. I am looking forward to trying the 77 flex. I chop 6"+ off cuz I like my stick super short, as am I! The flexier the better.

My SL lasted for about 5 1/2 months of ice times, but I got lucky from what I understand. Then again I take a lot of snappers and wristers and don't play physical but I still thought 5 months was pretty diesel.

They've been hit and miss for me. But the 2 times that the SL had broken on me, it should have. My warrenty replacement has been holding strong though.

1. A viscous slash to the shaft

2. Basically the blade got rammed into the boards being my weight and they other guy who was hitting me from behind.

Stealths on the other hand haven't been too good to me. Broke one on a slapshot about 2 feet from the top of the shaft, and the other i'm not sure how it broke, I got hit and i looked down to only see about 4 feet of shaft in my left hand.

chadd no offense but your model wasnt even the finished one yet. My SL has lasted me 6 months.

and jrhky36 if you break stick that easily, something is wrong with your shooting style.

btw my SL is a warrenty replacement to from a si core which lasted me 4 months

One kid that plays here has gone through 5 of them since mid-june playing pickup 2-3 times a week, it's not just me.

I had huge issues with Easton before...breaking a Z-bubble Grip on my first slapper I took with it, breaking two z-Carbs within a week, on one of my first Synergys the whole blade fell apart (like a crack along the whole face at about the hight where the foam core starts...then horizontal straight through along the whole blade until the whole thing just fell off....etc.... Their only product I am happy with a.t.m. is the Stealth which was to me the best stick I have used so far. I can´t judge the SL but from what I hear I rather add another 20 bucks and get another Stealth.

I've never had an issue with them. I have used the same si-core for a year (bottom cracked on the one before but that was after a season as well). And I like their pads, too.

I really like Easton stuff. I have only ever had a problem with their gloves I find the palms wear easily. But I like them so much I still wear them. There sticks I find great!

I actually prefer the feel of the SL over the Stealth. It feels more solid to me.

I've been using my sakic si-core since februrary. It outlasted my nike v-12's. Note that I've skated with the si-core probally around 150 hours if not more... But I'm defenately not going to touch thier 2005 line. I hope the TPS guys are keeping up thier good stuff...

i've only used one easton ops, which was an 03' synergy grip, which lasted me roughly 5 months of use through 4 ice times a week. it broke on me last christmas, and so i've been using the shaft from it up until now with barely any scrapes. to me, the thing has been an absolute tank of a shaft.

although, on the other side, i've seen teammates go through synergys in days and weeks. one friend got an SL and cracked the blade from heel to toe along the face of the blade during the first ice time he used it. it's really a hit or miss with easton's sticks, i find.

if you take a slapshot and you really get your blade into the ice the tension can cause it too break because its being restricted. ive been using my stealth since april and it hasnt broken yet, still feels amazing

i had an 04' maybe synergy grip ( yellow ) and i got it and it snapped. Had a warranty replacement SL Int. 65 and a few days before put Pow'r Tac and a lot of Spray paint on it and i was hooking a kid a lil at a fun skate ( the kid was on my team ) and were fooling around and we ran into each other on the ice and it snapped in half. Thought it was weird how they broke.
