a little stick help

Recommended Posts

I am addicted to the P106 curve, and the tri-flex gold. I bought some backups, but they are done now, and I am looking for a new stick. I really dislike the bauer stick'um grip so I am not to into the vapor line of sticks. So I was thinking of maybe a tapered shaft with Vapor XV balde. So I was wondering if there is a shaft without grip or very light grip similar to the tri-flex in dimensions and feel. I feel the easton sticks are too square for me.

The TFG had almost the same grip texture of the Vapor sticks.

All the vapor xx's at my lhs (scheels) have a stick um grip. The black fading to yellow xx's (maxx stick um's) feel the same imo to the normal xx's. I cant tell the diffrence between the new and old xx's if we even have the new 05' ones at the store.

So could we get back onto the goal of this post. What would be a good tapered shaft?

R2 XN10 is the best I've used. The L2 is nice and the Christian is very nice according to the guys who have used them.

I was looking at the christians they looked interesting, and what about the RBK 6k. Is it traditional and square or does it got some curve to it?

I agree with you Chadd, although i cant say i've used one of the R2xn10 shafts i have heard nothing but good things about it. People say it last longer, its more durable etc..

Durability is the biggest problem with them. They are not durable shafts for most people who play at a competitive level.

The 6k is ok. A little more heavy than your synthesis or xv it seems. If your talking about the shaft it is more square. At least more square than a synthesis.

are the new tapered shafts longer in length say, than the t-flex? cause most blades for tapered shafts nowadays are short hoseled....

Yes, the shafts are longer than the t-flex to make up for the shorter hosel and the christians are longer than Easton or Mission because they come without a plug.

i saw the christian tapered shafts from the rep. very very nice IMO, although the blades looked suspect

I have no idea why you would think they looked suspect. They do look a little different from the 2004 model but I thought the 05s looked better. Most people seem to like the chrome lettering.

ranger-8

look in the reveiw sectio to find reviews of sticks/shafts.

i recently switched from easton to innovative (tapered, 52" no plug) and really like them. some people like chadd have had twisting problems with them. they aren't light about 315/325 grams but from what i've read they are tanks.

bottom line is pp, you got to get what feels right to you.

1100 are tanks. Novius, not so much.

I've broken 2 1100's so far, and no Noviuses. 1100 is better performing though, that's why I still buy them. I've used each of them equally, so I have to disagree with your statement about the durability. But I do agree with the earlier part saying R2Xn10 is the best tapered shaft, it doesn't get much better than it other than maybe a tapered 1100.

I'm shocked to hear that. The guys I know who can use them that had the exact opposite experience. Sounds like it averages out.
