A Couple of Interesting OPS

Recommended Posts

I was at Canadian Tire tonight and I saw a couple of interesting OPS.

One was a Nike Ignite Composite StickUm in the PT92 pattern and it was metallic red like the Bauer Endure. Does anyone have any info on this one? Patterns available, etc?

The other one I saw was a Mission G4 or C4 (hard to tell since it was locked up in a stick cage). It was Bimmer Blue and was in the Ribero pattern. Does anyone have any info on this one? Patterns available, etc?

I also saw an Easton Typhoon Grip Shaft. It had regular Typhoon graphics but it was yellow like the Synthesis Grip.

SMUs most likely for Canadian Tire.

That's what I figured but I thought that maybe the SMU's were at chain stores in the U.S.

Just curious as to the quality and different patterns, etc. and I know that Mission and Bauer/Nike lurk on the boards.

It's like a hybrid of a hardware store and a department store.

They don't sell clothes, food, cosmetics, etc. but if your looking for car parts, hardware or tools, it's the place to go.

How are the prices there and do they sell hockey gloves there in Ontario or Quebec (Montreal) stores?

Check the site for price comparisons.

It seems a little expensive on some stuff.

I posted about the Typhoon Grip at Canadian Tire a week or so ago. No one had ever heard of this beast. I'm glad I'm not the only one to see it - I thought I might have been mistaken.

I too saw the Nike StickUm this past weekend.

They also had Mission G4 gloves.

"There is a lot more to Canadian Tire than tires."

Canadian Tire is an automotive, hardware and sporting goods store. I find their hockey stuff is comprised of a lot of lower to mid-grade SMU's. It's not too great if you're looking for high-end/elite equipment.

Yeah, Canadian Tire isn't the greatest for hockey equipment but they aren't too bad for mid level stuff.

If you're just starting to play hockey, or if you play beer league, canadian tire would be a good place to go....though some of the stuff is overpriced...

Today when I was at Costco I saw a Sherwood Focus OPS. It was white with a very nice grip coating and it looked to be non-tapered. To top it off it was only $70 CDN. I'm seriously thinking of buying one because the grip was so nice. It was in the Crosby pattern and felt fairly decent for a cheap OPS.

Can you tell me what other items they have at costco? specifically gloves and other stuff.

I've used one, I didn't like it too much cause the lie was too high for my liking, but the curve was good, the blade was actually pretty stiff. It shot pretty hard too, stickinghandling was bad for me though, pucks just bounce off it

I haven't seen any gloves at Costco. The only hockey stuff I've seen there are Sherwood Sticks, large packs of hockey & sock tape, replacement blades and hockey bags.
