They went through my "roof" a couple of months ago ;) It's going to be another 10 cents a gallon by lunch tomorrow and $3 a gallon if any refinery or oil platofrm is severely damaged. They are in Texas now and don't know if they want to go back. On a side note: I wonder if Epuck is ok since they are located in Louisiana too. The town of Lafayette (ville). A_Steeves12 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2005 i was just watching CNN's coverage of it, and some of the shots just make me feel sick and to hear that people are looting now. i mean when hurricane Juan hit here i thought that was bad with all the trees down and power out for week, but juan wasnt even close to being on the same scale as this one. Miike 1 Report post Posted September 1, 2005 The thing that disgusts me, is all the poor people, the city had no plan at all to help them out. You look on TV and how many white people do you see looting? How many black people do you see homeless, have nothing! (Not trying to be racist) but they wanted nothing to do with the less fortunate. You have your people looting for food and supplies, then you have you looters who are just out there for the sake of stealing stuff. Another thing that was really stupid, was 1-2 days before the hurricane hit, they were bumper to bumper on the freeway going outbound, when they should of just closed off inbound traffic, and have all the traffic going outbound. That would of been a smart move dont ya think? Especially when they're calling for 150-160 mph Category 5 hurricane before it hit! Just think if it did hit as a 5, when it only it as a 4. New Orleans will take years to rebuild. This isnt a project that will take a few months to rebuild. They're not expecting power back for a month or so i heard some reports! When Hurricane Juan hit Nova Scotia we lost power for max. 4 days which i found ALOT. My heart goes out to all the people down in Louisiana. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Yeah that DVD player is going to do you a lot of good when you're under 20 feet of dirty water.And shooting at the people who are there to help -- what's up with that?I'm guessing this is the minority of folks though. We all know how the media likes to sensationalize the negative. Now to me it appears that the govnerment is doing alot of talking about whats going to be done but there not doing that much. thats just IMO. i mean theres still people on there roof top waiting to be rescued.
