closest thing to not wearing socks

Im looking for skate socks that feel like your not even wearing them. I have never worn socks in my skates my whole life but i just cant stand the smell and breaking down of the skate. I did a search but want to get as much info as i can. i just bought brand new skates and want to make them last a while. What is the best suggestion

Under Armour socks are always good if you are willing to pay 15 cnd a pair and the new RBK socks look nice

I love our CoolFeel socks. They're thin like dress socks, but functional -- they wick away perspiration and keep your feet cooler.

if you are looking for a long length sock, not too sure...but I used to use a Nike cycling/skating sock that was mostly mesh with some fabric on the ankle and toe...

while not the most practical thing for skating..lately I found some real thin Polo dress socks at DSW for super cheap..like 6 pairs for $10 and have used them for roller to keep an ankle from getting a bit raw..since the games are only 45 min..wicking etc don't really pose that much of an issue and they work pretty well..

Jim A, I'm surprised you didn't recommend these!. I skate barefoot, but, these are the thinnest socks I have come across, and no, I am NOT the A&R rep.

Other than that, maybe some pantyhose.

I started to skate barefoot and I feel like I'm getting more power in my toe flick, which is great. Pantyhose like it or not have got to be the closest thing though...;)

I've seen some people who use a certain gel filled sock... they're some special silcone company or something who make some things, and the bottom was a thin layer of gel, but the rest of it was made of next to nothing.

What I like are the Nike Dri-fit socks. They're so thin. I can't go back to wearing regular socks at all anymore. :lol:

I sell a lot of the A&R socks as well. But if I were to spend more money, I'd definately go with the Oxysox. You get dry thin fit and added performance. Plus they last 5 times longer than regular socks, so really worth the extra bucks.

There is no shortage of options out there. I use really thin liner socks that I get at an outdoor store. They're the same thing as the big brands but I prefer to pay $5 instead if $15-$20.

The product I use is called Wigwam Gobi Liner Socks. A Google search will bring lots of results, but if you go to any sports or outdoor store they should have thin wicking sock options.

I got a couple pairs of dollar store black dress socks. Very thin and they are long too, so they almost come to my knees. Nice to not have bare skin on the shin pads...should help maintain the padding a bit longer.

Does anyone else find that UA socks get holes real quick? I got two pairs a while ago (just using them for hockey 2 to 3 times a week) and both pairs got holes within a couple of months! Any else that this problem?

a guy i know who plays football wears pink ladies tights as compression pants. it helps that his mom is the same size as him lol

LOL, he never really went that far. i think he also mentioned that close to his entire team was doing something like what he was doing
