I have sold the 8000 pant in the shop since they came out last year. They have done very well as a top end high performance pant. No problems with defective pants coming back with defective stitching or such. I have noticed that both the 6000 and 8000 pants do fit snug around the player's waist/hip. the pant seems to come in to taper close to the body at the waist. Some guys like it because now the pant fits you well around the waist, like jeans. The protection is excellent. I haven't heard of any players wearing the pant having injury problems. This opinion is only from the seller's point of view with feedback from players.

I guess you didn't look it up properly. They have been discussed A LOT. They won the MSH product award for pants this spring. I am currently skating in 8000s and this pant plain and simply rocks. It is very similar to the Nike Quest 1 pant, but better in many details.

I've had mine for just over a year now. Great mobility and as far as durabilty goes, nothing but a few scuff marks so far.

i checked em out at the lhs today, they don't have zippers and are light enough for me, and the fit..well can't argue with that.

i think the 2000 and the 4000 have zippers though...

Unless you like to put your skates on before you pull on your hockey pants you really have no need for the side leg zippers. Its just another thing that can mess up if you have them there. I have the side zippers in both my Tackla 951's and my Jofa 9500's and I don't think I've ever touched them other than to make sure they where functional when I purchased the pants.

I had pants with zippers before (Mission M-1s) and hated them. The zipper closures kinda got in the way when skating (insides of the legs rubbing against each other). Plus they ripped in no time. I am glad the 8000s don't have zippers.

I had a question about the 8000's as well, some of them I see on websites are completley black (or solid color) and others have the stupid reflective silver stripe on them. I'm assuming its the different model for their prespective year they came out in but which year would be the one for the completley black ones? ('05 or '06? etc)

I like having the zippers since I pull down my hockey socks and take off my shin pads, then my skates, then my pants. It's just my normal routine at this point.
