Becasue they are good. That about sums it up. Even most of their lower models are better then some of some companies top end models.

Because they are still hand made in Canada. They have a small very dedicated staff and they use high quality materials. Their QA is one of the best in the business as well as their support, they will bend over backwards to fix your gloves, even after the warranty has expired.

I like my Oakleys. Quite comfortable and super protection. I have a pro version though, and the fit/finish is questionable (not bad, but for $150 retail, I'd expect EVERY loose strand tied into a neat little cross-stich). The retails look better in this regard (but don't have they extra hard plastic sewn into each roll from what I understand).
